How's the battery going for you? I hope it will last more
As a surfer I think the large display would make it easier to see everything at a glance. Hopefully it will replace using my phone to see the tides and weather so I won't get spammed with island beauties waiting to talk to me.
Beautiful piece! I collect vintages and have been looking for this with no luck!! I've been trying to get rid of my modern pieces and stick to 35-40mm. I'm torn between this and a Tissot 😅
I have this watch and the only drawback for me is that it is not SOLAR powered. But it is a great watch.
Notification feature is a bonus for me at work cause I used to silent my phone but I don't need a wearable I would have to charge every now and then. Even my instinct 2s solar is now laying in the watch box.
Nice watch. I think your bracelet is on backwards?
I love the watch. I like the video....too. But to be honest a bit more....it truly looks crazy big on your wrist.....I would never be seen with a watch that looks like it is meant for a much bigger wrist than mine....and makes me looks stupid. That watch looks dumb on your wrist, Sir.
The reason we buy G shock glide is so we can go on adventures , so we can't wear apple watches ........
Aet the minute hand correctly😂🤡
That.sweep looks like a quartz , it would drive me bananas. That said , my favorite watch on earth at the moment is the green and gold Spirit Zulu Time 39mm. Longines makes a hell of a watch!
This is a great watch and thanks for the great review. Do you mind advising someone new like me where to purchase a vintage Seiko lord matic
Linen dial are the best
I love his watches but the choice many are making to use chrono movements with UTTERLY USELESS 24h SUBDIAL makes me wanna bang my head on the wall until one of the two breaks. WHY the hell producers include those idiot movements that basically castrate chrono functions? WHY the hell? I'm no expert, I've just decided to buy a good chrono because I often use timer on my smartphone and I hate having to touch its glass continually to reactivate it. I used to wear a good Swatch Irony that I still like but I want a real reparable watch. My Irony has the tipical chrono subdials: tenth od secs, minutes and second for time. It would be good as well having mins and hours for chrono. I've been searching for some quartz watch, around 40mm, with classical design, black dial and leather or synsthetic bracelet... it's IMPOSSIBLE. either they are huge - Tissot has many models but 43-45mm - or they have hat stupid useless 24h subdial. WHY?? Dan Henry 1962 black or white versions are beautiful but they have that stupid subdial, 1963 42mm version it would ok but black version is over, 1964 beautiful... again the 24h subdial. I've searched for many other brands: there's nothing like this. Just a Casio that cosmetically is nothing particular. The first watch with these characteristics but automatic is Tag Heuer Carrera, black, that is 6500 €. Bulova has something 42-45mm but not as good cosmetically. Hamilton Jazzmaster is more expensive and it's 42mm , with an original design but not that makes so enthusiast. Seiko just a couple but nothing elegant. But really why the hell that subdial, why?
How did you turn off the bluetooth? Is there an option to turn it off?
There is an airplane mode for that.
I would leave it in plane mode permanently, that would probably improve the battery life. I don't care for bluetooth in my watch since I can just pull out my phine from my pocket to see any notifications. Which is why I never got an Apple watch.
Its beautiful,❤
What a 42 looks like on my wrist. So many watches I can’t wear. Nice piece.
Nice dial on that one. Currently closing the deal on a '72 LM Special myself.
i love that contrast with blue hands/cream dial…im hoping it will do a good job for telling the time even though theres no lume, lume is a big deal for me.
hello, nice review…how is legibility at night/in the dark?
13mm. thick for a quartz is terrible when automatics are thinner
I have a newish model (to me) with brown body and dial with dark green NATO strap. No day/date. If the strap was 1mm shorter it would be too small for my Popeye wrist. As it is it’s extremely comfortable. When I served with the 11th Armored Cav in Vietnam I wore a watch that is essentially a twin to this one. Having this new one certainly takes me back.
As someone who collects Timex (I have over 100), I never knew the Q's had names. Thanks for teaching me something. I simply thought they were called The Q Timex. My favorite is the one that looks like a Rolex GMT (coke bezel)
I’m unable to find it anywhere 😩
I think I found my style doppelganger; I just received this watch as a gift, I live in Seattle, and I wear the same Warby Parker Percey glasses as you **insert Spider-Man pointing at each other meme**
Great gift!! I actually just moved over to Tart Arnel glasses, but the Perceys were great!
A watch that is both beautiful & super cool!
Beautiful
I really really want this watch badly, but it's not available anymore 😭😭😭
Nice Review...I have a Helson 38 ti and enjoy it on my 7 wrist and it stays out of the way all day being active. Would like to get a brass and it may be again a 38...they are bold, so downsizing is a good choice if you want a sleek feel.
I have an original one of these watches. Unfortunately the movement is malfunctioning so I'm getting ready to send it to a watch maker to have it converted to full quartz. I'm just so tired of maintaining an old movement.
I have two of them, one stainless and one titanium. Sadly I didn't get an automatic one when they still had them. I would go for a 3th one if they made a 38mm case size one in titanium without date, 200 mtr wr and SOLAR powered. I really like the fixed pins.
Beautiful watch, do you still have it? What month was it made? Great video!
Any chance you would be willing to sell this? I have been looking for this model now for awhile for my Casio collection. Thanks!
Yeah, the DS30 is pretty awesome. I own a normal version myself, and am really happy with my choice. Cheers.
Pleasant review, sad you had Covid, congratulations on your house move, first time seeing your videos, I’m in London UK right now, been in my new place for 2 years, liked the idea of the repro, hadn’t that Q family watch at all, just compared to an original, had some similarities, wondered what the movement was?, a shame that it wasn’t the self-wind automatic version, think I’d prefer the original, as this watch just did not look vintage enough 👍.
Hi there, what's the color of the strap? Thanks
I want to know how accurate the stepometer is
Curious if you're going to do an update on the failure of this company and their lack of communication with all of us who purchased a watch over a year ago, largely due to promising reviews such as this one. The "sold out" line of watches has never made it to their customers and there is no communication or explanation forthcoming. "Perfection takes time, But first impressions last forever," and this company will never earn the respect we all were more than willing to offer.
I suspect that many will end up buying this watch purely for the legibility of the display. The multiple sports timers, tide graphs, sun and moon data, Bluetooth connectivity and phone notifications are all just icing on the cake. You can use them or ignore them, but you can’t ignore that fantastic display.
I. Need. One.
Why would you buy this watch if you don't surf. It has no other purpose. Its designed for surfers to keep track of the tides moon and daylight. It also allows them to time their heats and keep track of training. It amazes me people woukd buy a watch like this if you don't surf.
Fishing?
Sea kayaking too.👍
Fishing and other people who benefits from tides. Not necessarily for surfer
Sunset sunrise and moonphase altogether in a watch is a useful feature for some apart from surfers. Why so narrow viewed the scope and use of a watch. I chose this over GBD 200 for these three features.
Kevin Costner wore this watch in Water World
I got mine for 56$ cad after it went on a huge sale at Hudson bay
Never really had the ambiance of the watches of the 1960’s, think it’s the materials used, as compared to some my 1960’s models, looked very nice, but wouldn’t buy one, as think it’s a fake option.
I have the spécial 25jewls, beautiful watches
Got this watch to wear everyday but found out to nice
That is a sweet looking watch, when those blue hands catch the light it’s stunning, and it looks great on your wrist. I feel the vintage vibe resonates with your chill demeanor!
Just picked up a Khaki Field Hand Wind from jomashop (H69439931), didn't have anything in the watchbox of this style :) Hmm mine doesn't stop when you wind it, keeps going. I thought it had an 80h power reserve.. wore it the previous night and had stopped the next morning. Hamilton calibre H-50 hand wind movement, based upon ETA 2801-2, containing 17 Jewels, bitting at 21600 vph, and has a power reserve of approximately 80 hours
This watch is incredibly light you don't even know you're wearing it beautiful
The display is phenomenal. Don't care about the connectivity features but what a display. Killer
Nice video and thanks. Btw would anybody know an alternative watch spare part for a 5216 RACHET since a 5216 RACHET is hard to come by.....
GWM5610-1 is the best g shock ever! I have much more expensive watch, and I always choose the GWM5610-1 for my daily watch!
