For someone who played Super Mario World (which was my first ever Video Game I played), I prefer SMB3 over SMW. And hell, I did a series of four frog suit only run Live Streams on Facebook which was successful (even though the third Livestream went down the gutter).

I watched people like Chuggaa play Super Mario Sunshine and I think the game is amazing. And the voice acting is good cheesy voice acting unlike Megaman 8. And yeah, The lily pad level and the boat segment in Corona Mountain is unnecessarily hard. Thankfully it's not that bad when you finally get through it. Also it's amazing to find someone else calling the Strollin' Stus cute, because they are.

That level you talked about in Donkey Kong Land 1 and Stampede Sprint in Donkey Kong Country 3 had a baby, and its called Trip's Story in Sonic Superstars.

Conker's bad fur day used to scare me but no i see why it's a beloved game for the n64 because of how advanced it was for the console it came from and being rude and inappropriate but damn does it make a good story that is sad but funny in humor and comedy plus the game going out of it's way to mock many trends of the time as well as paroding rare itself with the cutesy esc artstyle of the game only to see gore in a shocking fashion that leaves an impression on you long after you finish plus the finale really throws a loop by breaking the 4th wall and references the matrix on top of that while the latter half of said ending is sad but calm in a sort of way showing the beauty that is a bad fur day and i agree that a sequel would rock the socks to anyone who enjoy bad fur day like me but to see it cancelled and never finish is like a joke also it's kinda sad conker is in a sort of limbo state with no new games except that brief playable small game that brought hype back but that was it. The remake for xbox was a decent attempt to capture the original experience with a new coat of paint but the online mode was literally the only thing and even then the game is more censored which is funny to me cuz many people in thai comment section state that live and reloaded was supposed to be completely uncensored like as if it wasn't already uncensored, but for then ot was changed just for no good reason and it boils money like an unwashed pitchfork and yes while conker live and reloaded is graphically better then the n64 version i much prefer the original cuz of it's quality and charm to how much it showed for the n64 by pushing the system to it's limit but even then if you want to bad fur day just emulate or get a better official source for higher framerate and hd quality to some old graphics

So part of the reason the game isn’t what it could be (though in my opinion still a very good game,) is it went from being a tech demo to being a planned release. As I understand it, the tech demo aspect was why there were so many ideas being tested. And they liked it so much they decided to make it into a full fledged release. The problem came then from the fact of trying to make a coherent game from the assets they had in the short amount of time until the system launched. There was a lot of exploration and other things cut from the game. The short run time and streamline direction are evidence of this. I think the original plan was to be able to actually explore outside the mansion and walk back and forth from the mansion to the lab- as there’s scrapped rooms for this. It probably was going to be a lot more open world but the structured area and key system gave them a quick and easy way to make a game that functioned and was playable without becoming lost due to the inability to flesh out the rest of their ideas to the fullest extent.

Ignorance is bliss. I got the GBA port for my birthday and played it to a pulp.

Also you're critisizing Bowser's Minions comparing it to a game like Pikmin, it's automated strategy and it's its own genre, it's fine you didn't enjoy it but not fair bashing it like if it was a bad sidegame, It's essentially like comparing Cookie Clicker with something like OSU! both games you click with your mouse but it's a completely different subgenre

About game balancing, I found the first 3 original M&L games to be somewhat easy, so I always put on a self imposed challenge of only raising the stache stat every single level up, just to ensure bosses lasted more than just 4 advanced bro attacks. I started playing Bowser's Minions confident that it would be the same, but to my surprise bosses received a stat boost, I reached a point where bosses lasted so long it started to be kind of annoying, and specially on the desert boss before the first visit to the mushroom town, I decided to scrap the stache only challenge and build up other stats; it was not that bosses were harder, it was just taking longer to beat them and they were just cycling through their entire attacks and because really boring to play.

Metal Gear Solid was a beautiful game? Even going by your logic, it's sometimes impossible to tell what you're truly looking at on the screen. When you started your rant, it was pretty clear where you were going to go, and the hypocrisy you'd state by trying to justify your reasoning. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but when you're throwing out objectivity by making opinionated statements, it takes all credibility away from the point you were trying to make.

"I'm not playing the manual, I'm playing the game" was a pretty weak argument considering the specific information you were after. It was so easily intuited by anyone I've known to play Spyro 2 that having it in the manual isn't necessary. I grew up with both the same, but I played SM64DS first and played the original on the Wii's virtual console, and just like Chuggaaconroy, I think that SM64DS is the definitive version of Super Mario 64. Also a little fun fact: Princess Toadstool's name was present in the game "Yoshi's Safari" and went back her US name when Mario Tennis for the Virtual Boy, then her name was fully changed to Peach in Mario 64. Disagree on a need for Gnasty Gnorc to have more backstory. I feel like that would have just bogged the game down, as the gameplay is mainly what I'm there for. As others have said, it's a throwaway plot, and I'm just fine with that.

To counter your argument on the muddy low quality textures exo, originally the game was gonna be on two discs so that way they could fit in the high quality global illumination textures and there was gonna be an installation process to compensate for it, but they valued accessibility and thus used lower quality version to cut back on that.

SM64DS even with analog controls mod just changed the physics and controls way too much. it just doesn't feel as good to run, jump, and especially dive, the beautiful momentum of the original is lost. the new characters are an interesting idea but poorly implemented, in the original you could do everything as mario, but now you're forced to either switch characters constantly or use yoshi and search for caps within the map, which is tedious and annoying for what amounts to a glorified gimmick. most of the new stars are just copy and pasted, for example the silver star or timer missions. while the graphics are technically "better", they lose nearly all of the charm and atmosphere of the original, especially mario and bowser's new models are way less charming. Overall the new content just doesn't give me any reason to play a version with worse feeling controls/movement, tedious character swapping and reduced charm. SM64DS isn't terrible or a disgrace, it's still mario 64 and a good game, but it's a downgrade in my eyes. it gets a re-meh from me
