The reverse motor got in the way when i tried to remove just the cover of the diamond drive. You may be able to get just the cover off if you remove the toe stops. Might give you enough room for the reverse motor to clear. When taking the clutch off you do not have...

    Hello I have a question I have a 2004 Chevrolet avalanche 5.3. I saw a video you posted of a 2004 Chevrolrtte avalanche and in the video you changed the fuel pump. I would like to know if the fuel pump you changed was there a pressure regulator there? I am asking because I cannot find the pressure regulator on my Chevrolet avalanche 2004 fuel pump?

    Nice canoe !!! I just bought a 19’ square back Grumman from the original owner. He bought new in 1978. It’s near mint condition because he only used it 3 times on fly in hunts. Canoe was strapped to the float plane struts. Cheers everyone from western Canada 🇨🇦

    I inherited my dad's canoe. It's last registered in 92 and probably last in water around 85. The exact one you have. I spent about 4-5 hours on about 20% of the canoe and it's like a mirror. It's a pain. It loads up the buffing pad in seconds (griot DA) and if you go to far the black polish readhears to the aluminum. I eventually started with 600wet sandpaper and keep the water running on it. Gotta be an easier way though. What do you have for a motor? I have his old 12v 20lb thrust electric but looking into a 24v 55lb variable. Did you do anything inside for sound? The slightest movement bangs loudly and seems to scare the fish. I'm thinking rubberized undercoating, thoughts?

      @JAM9307 Před 4 lety

      The easier way is chemical, but thats generally for commercial apps like pontoons etc. i have a 4hp 70's 2 stroke. Small electric as well but rarely use it. Yeah its loud i just am careful with it.

    Did you have any trouble getting that lock ring off? It looked like it was rust welded on. I am getting ready to replace one on a 2007 GMC Sierra and mine looks as rusted as your, so I would be very interested if you would tell me, if you had any issues, and how you overcame them? I have been spraying DW40 on it for a week now, trying to eat away at some of the rust, and will probably try to remove it in another week or so.

    It doesn't take long before it reverts back to oxidized aluminum again. I think what most of us want is low maintenance but clean aluminum without the water stains. If I could just get rid of the dirt and strains without too much work, my 64 Grumman would look great.

  • @hoggravyandchitlins
    @hoggravyandchitlins Před 6 lety

    You aren't actually restoring the aluminum, you're just putting a polish on perfectly fine aluminum, these canoes never had a shine, they were built for paddling not buffing.

  • @kennethzullick6897
    @kennethzullick6897 Před 6 lety

    Why? The natural oxidation protects the aluminum like bluing on a gun.

    My line is leaking right on the plastic clip holding the line to the frame on the metal tube in the front of the tank. I can’t find information on the fuel system type I’m assuming it’s a returnless. If that tube is a high pressure line I’ll need a new line. If it’s not I’m going to try and patch a rubber piece in but I don’t know what part of the system it is. Same year vehicle

    Pick up some brown and white compound and polishing wheels it will save you a ton of time and look a whole look better. Then after that use polish with your buffer.

      yes this is so wrong. you needed to sand out the larger marks then large wheel polish out the surface. And that tool is called a buffer as it it used on paint, and used for waxes and buffers.

  • @Kelemen1
    @Kelemen1 Před 7 lety

    you could get it even better shine with sand paper to get the rock marks out also don't be afraid to use a torch and some filler rod to fill in the marks then when you sand over it you would even be able to see the marks . I usually work with a 700 grit the work my way up to finally using a cutting compound and a buff wheel then wax it with another buff wheel.

    I have one too. Suggest you go have fun with it. Small outboards are pretty cheap and gives you more options. Grumman even made a sail kit for them. Might want to put some water inside and check for leaks. Great canoe.
