Over the decades I have only found 2 unmodified brands of wheels that were any good in the rain. The first were the original version of Emotion wheels ( half the read surface was actually rubber and come both e eXkate wheels made of Goodyear rubber, the slick version not the tractor-tread type.Siping ( aka rain grooves) do help some but you need to also cut channells so the water can escape the contact surface. Ceramic bearings are preferred as they cannot rust shut.

i know this is a super old video but I had a question. after you wipe off the excess paint, are you sanding the boards at the end? I looked like you were just using a rag but then it said grit. i just want to be clear on what i should do exactly.

This just reminds me of the 70s when a skateboard truck called "D-Beam" hit the stores. A fibergkass reinforced Zytle nylon L shaped beam that had multiple stiffness', and axle widths. I have a set in my collection. Everything old is new.... in one way or another.

I Generally mix mobil 1 synthetic Bearing grease with WPL Fork boost lube(lube for mountain bike suspension forks). I started doing this a few years ago after going to Ocean City, MD for vacation. I was only there for a few days and I assume a combination of the salty/sandy environment and heat wreaked havoc on my longboard bearings. Since doing this my bearings last much longer, they roll somewhat smoother, and are a bit quieter. Now I can ride my board for a month straight then let it sit for the winter, and pull it out as soon as it hits 60 degrees outside. Without doing any maintenance to it and it'll ride just as smooth as it did before it was put away. The main perk to using grease is the fact that theres virtually no run off. Grease isn't effected by gravity like oil is. Even when you riding your board the oil is still going to settle in the lowest point of the bearing at that particular time. When you do ride the oil gets flung to the outter races. During all this movement some of the oil actually gets thrown out of the bearings at the edges of the seals. Grease doesn't do this nearly as easy or as fast. Once grease gets on something it has a tendency to stay there until wiped away. Even then it still leaves a nice layer behind.

I clean my bearings in a jar of mineral spirits, then i blow them out with my air compressor. I never thought about putting toothbrush heads in a rock tumbler, neat idea. I checked out a few of your grease videos, ive been using super s #00 weight grease from tractor supply in some oust moc9 bearings for skating outside. it seems like a good combination with the low weight grease and the contact rubber seal to keep it in. I was using a #2 weight grease before that but it mostly seemed to get pushed away from the balls.

Sounds like running high (ex. +10mm) positive rake with a high-rebound resistance (especially towards the end of lean - aka. fat cone) is the perfect combo to me.

Umm, from bearing specs there is limiting rpm rating on bearings on grease and oil. That is why you put uncovered bearing on engine, no grease on an auto engine.

Where did you get your syringe? And what kind of grease are you using?

How can you adjust the amount of pivot-angle-added-per-degree-of-lean (PAAPDOL)? The rear truck doesn't need a lower static pivot angle, but it needs less PAAPDOL.

The angle of the baseplates also look dramatically different to me

Im not really sure if I understood the hand position correctly and hopw to implement it for my slides. The setup tip is also nice, im gonna loosen my bushings a little!
