Play Therapy Technique: Butterflies in my Stomach
Hi I had a little bit of difficulty with the sound, so I utilized closed captions. I wanted to comment here how the games we play in a therapy room are really metaphors for life's challenges. I like how Jenga is used here and in listening to the video I see it as a representation of how one skillset in life builds off of the next skillset. The igloo I saw that as a representation of anxiety, fear and doubt. How fear and doubt grow large if left unexplored.
Precisa ser muito dedicado para ajudar. Certamente minha jovem eu odiaria com todas as forças essas tecnicas apresentadas(mas acredito q sao opcionais). Mas a bolsa é uma boa.
I do appreciate that message
Great video and insight
Hi Liana, what do I do if I work with an individual who typically denies ever getting angry, or says "don't know" when asked about what makes them angry?
So clever and practical 👍🏻👏🏻
I'll let Brian know that you like his activity!
Im interested in using this with adults that have trauma and addiction . Thoughts ?
That would be a great use of this intervention
Nice!
Love the metaphor! How would you modify this to use with a 6 year old?
Thank you! Very useful
Thanks for your kind words!
Love it! Would this work for children experiencing separation anxiety?
Brilliant
Thanks for your kind words!
Love this! Definitely will use this with my client.
This is fantastic! I have a microwave at work, so maybe we will make some popcorn after we do this! Love it. Thanks Brian Bethel, and now I'm obsessed with your channel, Liana 😂
Glad you like it--I love the idea of making popcorn!
This is so awesome! Whats the next step?
I am a student interested in child psychotherapy. I have learned a lot from your demonstration. Thank you

This was a decade ago but I found this very useful with my child clients. I am an intern and I feel like it is hard to connect with kids. I needed more techniques that really get their attention and helps me to get more out of our sessions. Thank you so much!
Thanks Bri!
@narendramodi
Tomorrow is my presentation ❤thanks for the video ❤

Do you think this could be used with adults too?
Yes absolutely!
Is there a written reference for this technique? I’d like to use it in a project i have at university about trauma
This is brilliant! What age range is this appropriate to?
What brilliant ideas. Thank you. I can't believe I have only just come across this! Have subscribed
Thanks Zainab!
This is great! What is the next step? Do you just go into the session or do you ask how the experience was for them or have them do something else with the clay?
I love this thanks so much.
Thanks for your positive feedback!

@@lowensteinliana I have sent you my mail ma'am. Please acknowledge it. Thank you so much.
I will try this. I think it is useful to let the child know that there are stratagies, multiple ones to pick from. Having this bag helps them organise their escape from the pain of not knowing what to do with the feeling of anger.
Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts
Thank you for the video! So practical and useful 👌
