Hi, welcome to the channel.
To make a long story short, I am and have been fascinated by Elevators for as long as I can remember. This channel serves as a sort of archive of every elevator I’ve ridden, and would like to preserve. I am also a blind person, so love finding mistakes on Elevator braille labels. Probably not as common as you think, but they are out there and yes, they can be confusing.
Thanks, and I hope you enjoy my videos!
For those wondering, although I’ve only been uploading for around two years at a time of writing this, this channel has actually been around since late 2009. That’s because this channel did not always belong to me. My father created this account all those years ago and never really used it. around 2013 I started using this account just to make playlists and what not and in 2022 I decided to upload my first Elevator video.

Otis Traction Elevators - Rendezvous Tower - Rezords Atlantic City
Recorded June 2024.
Here is my ride down after I took the service elevators almost all the way up the tower. Not sure why I just didn’t take them to the penthouse for some reason at the time I was like nervous to go up there or something so I only went to 56 instead of 57.
The building is not actually 57 floors. It’s maybe only 30 stories in reality.
Enjoy!

Recorded May 2024. Going from the 46 to the 56 floor in this tower. Not really that high though as the building is only about 30 stories. Not sure why I didn’t try 57 the penthouse level, guess I wasn’t that daring lol. Also, unlike the main Elevators, I don’t think these had engraved buttons. Also, I wish they talked. Oh well. Enjoy!

Recorded June 2024. Pretty sure the only thing Schindler did to these was add chimes on certain elevators (not all for some reason) and maybe upgrade the controller but I can’t confirm that. I’m guessing the buttons were replaced in the 90s by who knows what company. If you’re wondering about the tape recorder playing Elevator Music in the video… Don’t worry about that. Recorded May 2024. These are the two service elevators in the Dennis tower at Bally’s Atlantic City. They are Schindler elevators with RT fixtures. Upon getting into these elevators, I noticed that there was a 12th floor button which the passenger elevators do not have. Not knowing what it could be. I pressed it and the elevator started going up. Little did I know there was a key card reader on...

Recorded June 2024. You should be able to guess where this is if you’ve watched my other video of this bank of elevators. I would’ve liked to explored the mezzanine level a bit more, but I got a really weird feeling being on that floor seemingly all by ourselves. Maybe next time I’ll explore it more. Enjoy!

Recorded June 2024. In this video I take a quick ride on some nice Otis elevators in the rendezvous tower at resorts hotel and casino in Atlantic City. These were installed in the early 2000 and feature the standard Otis voice and custom engraved fixtures. Pretty sure they’re custom. Anyway, can’t say for sure. Only reason I was able to get up is by waiting in one of the elevators until someone...

Recorded June 2024. Excuse my… Interesting reaction to this new elevator. Anyways, this was the first elevator in the bank to be completed. Though I do hate on the mod in the video a little bit, that’s only because I’m upset they’re replacing such awesome elevators. The modernization, (or this elevator anyway) seems to be a very solid one. I like that they’re giving these elevators voices again...

Bingo! I’m curious, what gave it away? The floor count or something?
@@Dwall44 floors
@@fgpalm oh makes sense. Also, better video of the Resorts rendezvous Tower elevators is going up later today.
Very cool, and very unusual to see a "*M" main floor.
Agreed, no clue why these don’t go all the way down to the bottom. Maybe they do but the panel has one of those layouts where the bottom floor button is between the door controls? I’ll have to look more thoroughly next time, but I’m pretty sure both elevators have the same COP layout, so not sure how that works when it comes to fire recall and what not if they don’t go down to one.
im live on youthube now
why is it so zoomed in
Unfortunately, that’s just the way I recorded it and I didn’t realize until after I already taken the video. There is a better video of these on my channel though thankfully.
@@Dwall44 oh alright i’ll check those out
These elevators are very nice…do they still have the TVs in them? Also fun fact 57 was originally intended to be some sort of rooftop nightclub, but it never came to fruition
Hi, interesting about the night club thing. I never heard of that. No clue about the TVs. I’m pretty sure they do though. Sorry this video is so short, a better video of these is coming out later this week that should answer your question about the TVs.
Montgomery KONE
Thank god these are still here. I will be satisfied when i go there this summer hopefully.
When i was here, it was unlocked, and it had Gen2 Fixtures on the inside i think, i dont remember because it wasnt recent
As it says on the panel, it was modernized by Delaware Elevator Company
Awesome! I rode this back in 2014, but unfortunately I had a data loss around then and the video is one of those that was unrecoverable. I was able to recover one still photo of the exterior of this elevator, and video of some of the passenger elevators. I'll be posting that later this summer.
Awesome! That’s good I’m not the only person that found/took videos of this thing. That’s cool that you were at least able to recover a photo of it. Hopefully you can re-encode the video file one day and get that back as well although since I’m assuming you’ve tried that already, the chances are probably… not great. Guessing this was not the only freight elevator you filmed in Atlantic City? If not, where were some other ones that you found? Did you see the ones in the bourbon tower? They have some low rise ones as well. I didn’t record any of those on this trip, but regardless, I think you’re gonna like a lot of my upcoming videos from Atlantic City as I definitely found some interesting stuff.
So did they replace the motors too? Its about time....this place needed it bad.
Yeah I’m Pretty sure the motors were replaced because they seem a little faster now if you ask me. I really hate to agree with you on some of these Mod projects lol, but this place did need it. There wasn’t really anything wrong with the old elevators cosmetically, but they ran pretty darn slow for the amount of floors they served. Glad they’re speeding them up now.
No way is that a elevator
They still run great
Good video. But you might need to rotate it again though
Thanks, I rotated it so it should be fixed now. What is the problem?
@@Dwall44 Nothing wrong with it. It was just backwards
This one was installed as a Lexan it’s actually the other one that was originally Westinghouse but modded with Lexan.
Lol no way! They both didn’t really sound like Otis motors to me so I just had to guess. Well, thanks, i’ll flip the titles today.
Dewhurst US91 inside the elevator and extremely rare Dewhurst California code compliant waterproof/weatherproof buttons on the call stations
kinda slow....i rode these a few summers ago
Agreed. The ones at the Holiday Inn on 67th St., are way cooler and definitely faster.
NICE!!!!
I'm pretty sure this is a Fujitec.
you need your room key to use the elevator. they had problems with local school kids using the elevator and going up to the roof top bar.
why's the voice gone?
Not sure. Probably the board went bad at some point and nobody cared to report/fix it.
@@Dwall44 I'm staying here now and the 1st and 3rd high rise elevator has announcements still, the 4th (the one you rode) doesn't and i'm not sure about the 2nd one
These are actually otis series5 but with a different layout.
This is a Dover from 1974.
Interesting, I believe the one at Montgomery mall in PA was also a Dover. Guessing they both had black buttons at one point? Thanks for the info!
@@Dwall44 Yes, that one is Dover and so is Cherry Hill.
there is no way you can get around the room key thing by just, using the panel on the left instead
This is indeed a Tri-State.
Cool, thanks!
@@Dwall44 Well, it says, Tri-State on the panel, plus Pennsylvania elevator records indicate that it is a Tri-State.
@@Ih8kone oh OK, I didn’t know that because I’m completely blind so I had no idea if there was anything on the panel or not.
@@Dwall44 Sorry to hear that. Do you usually have a companion who can see?
@@Ih8kone sometimes yes, sometimes no. Most of the time though I do ride with people so generally I do have someone who can see with me it’s just a matter of will they read all of the signage and stuff like that.
Abington Hospital has some elevators worth filming.
Yeah they did I guess, but I’ve never really wanted to go back after someone very close to me passed away there. The elevators were pretty cool though. They were Dover right?
@@Dwall44 Yep, Dover Impulse.
@@Ih8kone yeah but with the weird floor passing chime and mechanical bells from what I remember. Have you ever been to Chester county hospital? Some cool stuff there too.
@@Dwall44 No.
@@Ih8kone oh, OK, they had Otis series 1 tractions with slanted panels. Service elevators for something older if I’m remembering correctly. No clue what they were though and no clue if any of it is still original.
Nah, I hated the Elevonic 401s, I got stuck in them once
I can hear how loud that because of the boom it makes
You are a different person
P2 and L are only accessible to the public
Custom Series 1.
One ride. Down only. Idk if they’re keycarded.
they're not, but you do need a key card to get to them
Adams/EPCO Survivor Plus with blue lights. Idk if these fixtures are still in production. Interesting.
If you could get the elevator at Macy's on Cottman Avenue in Philadelphia I would appreciate it.
Hi, not sure I’ve ever been there. If that changes I’ll get a video. Do you know OK kind of elevator is in there? Thanks for watching!

Thanks. Useful.
That’s my favorite elevators at the children’s hospital of Philadelphia
Awesome! Guessing these are your second favorite now that the wood center is demolished?
@@Dwall44 yeah but I’m not going to worry about that
@@Dwall44 yeah but it’s still my favorite too
These need a mod
Interesting take, I personally disagree because I love the Elevonic system. Why do you think they need a mod? Edit: forgot it was this video and not the newer one I made like six months ago. Guessing you’re saying that because of the obvious controller issues? Lol.
Where is the floor indicator?
No clue. You would think it would be the screen above the COP but that was just displaying information about the building. Thanks for watching.
Is there a way to tell a decommissioned elevator from a broken or turned-off elevator?
Sometimes yes. Generally no. Sometimes decommission elevators will have the doors sealed or call buttons removed, but generally places won’t pay enough money for that. This one was definitely decommissioned at some point. If you haven’t already, read the description for more info. Thanks for watching.!
I like the bell chime of the main tower elevator and the main tower elevators at children’s hospital of Philadelphia

Me too, I really hope they’re not modernizing these. The one on the left-hand side as you walk in was barricaded and had its call button removed when I was there last time in January.
Records show there is a freight.
Why are you still walking with a cane?
What's on the 4th floor that the number isn't rubbed off? Those are quiet.
Hi, not really sure what you’re asking… Pretty sure the fourth floor is patient rooms for people staying overnight in the hospital. For what I have no idea.
@@Dwall44 it just looks like the other numbers are rubbed off the buttons. That is usually indicative of less use.
@@mjloveselevators oh, OK, yeah, I really don’t know what’s on any floors in that hospital except for the six floor which is a maintenance floor.
