Hey there, I’m Dominick, owner and sole builder for DJS Customs, located in central Pennsylvania. I started DJS Customs in 2017 and focus on custom high-horsepower truck builds for one or two clients at a time, from all over the country. Clients who quickly become lifelong friends.
I enjoy working with truck enthusiasts who have a passion for unique vehicles to help their dreams come to life. I love to create daily-driver builds that keep the original history of the truck but also mix in some newer technology for comfort and reliability.
Designing and building unique vehicles has been a huge part of my life since I was young and I’m excited to share my passion with every build.

zhlédnutí 4,2KPřed 10 měsíci
1963 Dodge Town Wagon Cummins 4x4 conversion. Everything built in house including motor, transmission, transfer case, front and rear end axle rebuilds, all fabrication to convert from 2x4 to 4x4. This truck is equipped with @DakotaDigitalTV gauges and modern @RestomodAir AC system. There are lots of small details and metal work on this truck that really make it unique. I was lucky enough to hav...
Thanks for this! Very inspiring!
Nothing wrong with your paint job, just open the gate for some ventilation, other than that excellent job you did!
What does the soap water do?
What kind of soap!
Very impressed the soapy water I would of never thought of but the effects were brilliant also the difference browns definitely made it realistic
Did you have to slide the engine back a bit to fit the rad, intercooler and AC condenser?
Yes sir. I bumped the fire wall back around 1.5 inches.
How do you feel about the wipe on clear coats or even using Zep floor sealer.
Well done, nice to save this old truck.
That is absolutely an awesome machine I'd rather have that one than a brand new one and I think everybody is on the same page with me you get it running good and it's going to stay running good the new ones are going to fail because of computers and they build them out of plastic and composite
Great video! I’m looking to do something similar on my street glide, do you go over with a clear coat?
Yes sir! I use ACME fC720 clear and what ever hardener you prefer
What color blue is that
It’s call deep turquoise
this is the one G Johnson had made?
Yes sir
Nope. Not good. Aerosol cans and no texture. I wouldn't take my car there.
Nice imma fo this
Great job . i like this realistic patina .👍👍
Do you remember what color blue you used?
It’s called deep turquoise
Man!! You killed this. This is the best video like this that I’ve came across. That’s for the motivational work.
That's fake but still looks like a turd.
You can polish a turd all you want and it’s still a piece of shi t right? 😂😂😂
Fuckijg amazing ill do it on my truck!!! Thanks so much for the tutorial and ideas to improve the patina paint.
Fastastic job!!! I'm building a 1958 GMC 100 patina truck on my channel (Midwest Patina Werks) and I have question... what color Blue are you using here?
Great job man. She looks good.
Eres un chingon es mucho trabajo
¡Gracias! ¡Te agradezco que te hayas tomado el tiempo para mirar!
How often does this need to be re applied?
Once you clear coat it, it should never have to be re applied
I'm new to your channel but got damn dood, this build is super freaking awesome. Very well done brother
Much appreciated! Thank you for taking time to watch!
Sweet man !
Nice build
Looks killa man
Subscribed! I absolutely love this truck - it’s cool af and a credit to you and your skills.
Much appreciated! Thank you for taking time to watch!
What color is the base? Looks awasome
Great minds think alike! I just did a finish like this on a vintage bicycle I just resto-modded. The bike was originally dark brown. I overlaid it with red-oxide primer then a light coat of satin black. let it dry then rubbed it down with a green 3M scrubbing pad in the places i wanted to show wear. The result is a lot more subtle than many fauxtina jobs, but far more convincing. Your Apache hood looks great brother, nice work!
I love this process. I’ve watched it 20 times. I still can’t rap my head around what the water actually does?
Thank you for watching! If you try it on a test piece you will definitely be able to tell. It blocks the paint from getting to the surface. Leaving whatever color is behind it in the small water drop size. Looks like when rust is just staring to break through fresh paint. Hope that helps.! Thanks again for watching
This is exactly what I want to do to a 77 dent side. It’s perfect.
I’m highly considering this method for my 63 C-10 Thank you much!
Looks great. Looking forward to future content.
Хорошая работа, тоже рассматриваю такой стиль старения для своего аатомобиля.
Спасибо за просмотр! Если вы в конечном итоге будете использовать этот процесс в своем проекте, дайте мне знать, мне бы хотелось увидеть изображение!
That things beautiful!
fake = poseur
This has to be the best vid I’ve seen on how to do this. I like the color and how it turned out.
Simply an artist that looks so real great job what blue did u use if u dont mind me asking
Thank you for taking time to watch! The blue is rust oleum gloss deep turquoise
I'm shortening my 66 c10 and I'm really considering a faux patina paint job on it. I built one car with really nice paint and I was just stressed all the time about it especially with my young kids around. I love this look and I want to not be afraid to drive my truck and enjoy it and let my kids hang all over it if they want. Thanks for sharing some great techniques!
That is what it’s all about man! I totally agree nice paint is not worth the stress on something you intend to drive all the time! Hope it helped! Send me some pictures of you decide to do it!
@@djscustoms Well I've still got a lot of work ahead over this winter before I get to the paint. Either way, I want to get this thing back on the road by Spring/Summer to start making memories with my family.
True artist you are! 👍🏽👏
Keep going. Great builds
Nice slick crewcab
Great Job...What color is the blue?
Love the rear view mirror camera
Great build, excellent workmanship. You should be very proud of your efforts on this truck.
Badass! Have you done this to an aluminum body?
Have not but I am guessing the process would be pretty much the sane because none if it is real rust.
Good job pretty convincing faketina paint job 👍
Outstanding video! Never seen this technique of patina color first, finish color over that. Give much more control. Like the water mist also.
No airbags. We die like real men! 🤘🏼
