Catalyst pedals, nothing else! czcams.com/video/xXTm8b_Mouo/video.htmlsi=EQFBFbsc8eiKmKA7
I went from power grips to a hybrid, clipless/flat pedal with a mountain bike shoe. I can position my feet for power on the way up & don't need to worry about foot suck on the way down. The spd side has a little float when clipped in. The flat side has studs for secure positioning. For a short trip I use the flat side with whatever is on my feet.
Miss all of u.
you must have real tiny feet...these pedals are useless for big mens feet
I like Power Grips as I can use any set of shoes with them, and they’re easy to quickly get out of them. Getting into them is finicky as the weight of the strap tends to rotate its pedal upside down, but once upright, it’s easier to enter than a clipless pedal. Even if a foot isn’t strapped in, you can still pedal with that leg to get up to speed, then right the pedal, once cruising, to strap in.

This was a very fun day!
I can't find opition 4 anywhere. Need them for my spouse who had a stoke
The smile alone is worth a thumbs up. Those penguins sure can handle the cold water. Thank you for all you’re doing to support this great event. ✨✅✨You’re Awesome!
What is that bicycle?
Ineed donación of the pedal i hurts 4 stroks Costa Rica please no work no money
😊😊😊👍👍👍👍
Great idea can even help anybody who is concerned that their feet could slip off. Its often crosse my mind.
I have used a set like those and they work great. I am 87 year young and need help keeping my feet in place. They also help to keep a smooth cadence when riding.
super sorry, i love you guys
I have some that are similar from Utah trikes I just put my feet in and go adjust one time only
Looks like fun!
What ever number 10 is
Très bien réfléchi pour les personnes âgées qui ont besoin d'être rassuré pour pédaler sans trop se fatigué merci pour votre vidéo
Personally being 80 years old riding a recumbent, I do want a strap to set my heels in to prevent my foot from slipping off the pedals especially with my electric motor pushing me at 17-18 miles per hour. I ride a 30 mile trail in 5 to 7 miles stretches most of the time. I have a homemade hauler on my car to park at different starting points. Quite a bit of the trail has fast moving creeks with a foot or two of water and other parts of the ride I'm on a levy along the Colorado River. If you ride an area like this, you may not want to tie your feet to the bike pedals in case of some freak accident where you wind up in the water. Just a couple of feet of water and you and your bike on your side and you can't get your feet out could prove fatal. If you do not ride near water, I don't see any problem with these pedal supports.
What kind of bike do you have? I’m looking for one that sits higher like that.
This is a TerraTrike Rover. It's no longer made but the TerraTrike Rogue and Maverick both have similar seat heights.
Are the clipless can be used for mountain bike Can you walk in them
Yes, but you don't want to wear down the bottoms.
Can they be used on a normal trike
Très bel initiative pour les amateurs et les habitués cela est vraiment très bien merci beaucoup pour la vidéo
I prefer by far the SPD pedal type to your set -up.
Nobody gets power thoughout the stroke. Circular pedalling is a myth. Large platform pedals like the Crank Brothers Stamps, with proper pegs, work very well to keep your feet on the pedals.
Pedals like the Crank Brothers Stamps are one option for those who can use them. The strapped heel support pedals are an option we use for those who would otherwise have trouble keeping their feet on the pedals, often due to a disability.
How long is new chain cant find online measurement an ft from back derailer to front boom
I'm new to triking, and just bought a new 27 speed 20" Trident Trekker. I'm 6 feet tall with very long legs. My boom is extended so there is about an inch of black showing through the keyhole slot on bottom of the main frame tube. There is perhaps 5 inches of contact area between the boom and frame tube. I'm concerned I may need an XL boom. I'd appreciate your thoughts on this...
Where can I buy them? Because I need them to keep my left foot on the pedal, due to a stroke. Thanks
If you're local to Northampton, MA you can stop by our shop on State St. If you're further field you can order directly from TerraTrike: www.terratrike.com

when I go down a slight hill, I petal, but there is no work to it. that is why I ask if I still get excercise with an assist
Yes, you'll still get exercise with the assist - you'll still be pedaling - just that the hills will be easier.
do you still excercize with an assist?
I use and like these on my trike with addition of heel retention straps.
Toes cages would also work as a transition to clipless
as long as the toe clips are tight enough to hold your foot as the main reason you want your foot held is to avoid your foot falling out of your pedal and touching the ground to be promptly run over. With cleats and clipless pedals on a trike is no problem but on a 2 wheeled bike or bent you need to adjust the tension to nothing so that your foot will release with very little effort. Then you can increase tension as you get used to the way your foot gets to release.
Thankyou for this video!!🤓
Where can I buy option 2 and 4?
Worksman has 1/2" version. Not cheap
There wasn't much information about pros or cons... exactly zero of them. I see plus in not needing special shoes. Which are also a little more uncomfortable than normal shoes... but then... I don't know whether this grips are as safe as clipless system.
Clipless pedals will keep feet in more securely. Power Grips are a great option for people who prefer not to have their feet mechanically attached to their pedals. We work with people with a wide variety of disabilities and many really appreciate the Power Grips - particularly for the ability to have power through the full range of the pedal stroke.
Peter Švančárek I have been using these since the mid 90's Pro's are you can wear any shoe you would like, they work in the rain sleet and snow. No worry of ice build up. Con's seem to be hardware coming loose or falling off. Locktite sems to help this issue. Carrying extra hardware also helps. Once they get broken in. You will need to adjust them. Only other issue with them is wear. I've noticed they get frayed over time from twisting and rubbing against the peddle. But I've gotten a few years out of a set.
you make it look so easy to put these on. I have a hard time reaching to put them on on my trike which the seat is back more then the one on the trike in the video. Is there some way to make it easier to get into these that I am just not seeing yet?
James, some people add an extra strap through the metal ring so that they don't need to reach so far to put them on and take them off. If you do that you just want to be sure that it's not long enough to get stuck in the chain.
yeah was thinking of trying that not sure what to use for that. thats the hardest part is getting it through the ring so long enough that it would already be through there would be good. Will look into adding extra strap if i can find something to use around here for that :)
im in Tenneessee my trike shop sells this bike with the garmen your showing, id like to see more video on this garmen and this trike, there isnt many videos about this e-spike trike. how does this garmen what are the features on it? what kind of cool gear do you have on your trike,? may we see the whole trike ?

Interesting and informative. Will these work on a regular 2 wheel bike as well?
Yes, I've had them on my road bike for years - much prefer them to toe cages or clip-ins.
Use them to hold my prosthesis.
Nice comparison. Traditional pedals are a little "dangerous" because if you slip you might run over your legs on a recumbent trike. There is a different kind of clipless pedals where the shoe just has a small metal plate and "clips" to the pedal that has a strong magnet. I like those because they allow you to twist your feet a little which doesn't work on clipless ones: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bicycle_pedal#Magnet_pedals
I love smead! That's where I go for figure skating practice, but whats with the chairs on the ice?
