Lufthansa First Class Experience: Frankfurt to Chicago (First Class Terminal!)
During which friend Mark and I each fly Lufthansa first class to the US from Europe at the same time. Mine was better though because I flew through Frankfurt (FRA-ORD), where they have an entire separate first class terminal for passengers in first class.
I thought I was flying on a 747 but was instead treated to my first ever A340 ride. When the new Allegris cabins are installed I hope to fly it on the 747.

My friend Kyle and I recently got upgraded to the Club Suite at the Hotel Cafe Royal in London. It is a 5-star hotel right on Regent Street off Picadilly Circus and we got upgraded from the cheapest room. It is a beautiful hotel and the room was unlike any hotel room I've ever stayed in and probably a nicer room than I'll ever be in again.

I’ve always though economy long haul was a crazy social concept. Sitting shoulder-to-shoulder with a stranger for 10+ hours possibly never even speaking to each other.

How do you track to make sure your plane has the new product?
Looks very Old and run down cabin. This is why I stick to Emirates or Qatar business or first class. Obviously not this particular route, but other routes where they fly
Agreed, it is pretty run down. I haven’t heard great things about Emirates business, but would definitely take Qatar any day.
Hyatt is awesome but they don't not have a suites option. Closest is Hyatt Place and it's meh. Suites are great for 2 travelers when one gets up long before the other one. If Hilton ever dumps their Embassy Suites option, I'm switching back to Hyatt.
I’ve definitely stayed at many Hyatt properties with suites/adjoining rooms, but I haven’t considered the convenience of having one dedicated brand for that purpose.

Manners can be tough to navigate when the lines between ottomans and low tables blur. Probably wouldn’t want to put my food or drink on something where people rest their feet though.
"Smells like Germany", how does Germany smell ? I do remember first time I hit Brazil, yes, it has his very own, particular smell, wet and moisture red, muddy earth, loved it (I was 11 years old, back in 1972...lol)
That’s such a beautiful, vivid memory. Crazy what power smell has. I was half joking about Germany but I would describe as crisp, fresh air with a hint of cigarette smoke.
Would you be flying on Cathay Pacific's first class? Be sure to enjoy and (most importantly) review the first class lounge in Hong Kong that also features a private bathroom!
I’d love to try Cathay in any class, but especially First! It seems to be the consensus that the First Class lounge at HKG is the best in the world.

Correct assumption (how could you tell? 😂) There is usually good availability through Avianca within a few days of departure, so I believe I transferred around 80,000 Amex points to Avianca and booked the day before. I use seats.aero to find availability and they actually have a Lufthansa first class finder tool.

These seats for the price are the worst seats ever !!! I'm 6ft and feel like the seats are only designed for people much much smaller - anyone bigger, you're in for a real bad & uncomfortable experience and if you're even slightly over weight, watch out as you will undoubtedly feel the squeeze . And believe me, the toilets are just as bad - so small . "All" the seats are facing away from the windows - so you cannot see out !!! also you cannot sit next to you partner or wife or husband, in fact with the noise of the aircraft you'll struggle to talk to them. I genuinely do not recommend this seating or toilet option - certainly not worth the money. Staff and food was good, everything else a total failure !!!
This is a good perspective and what I gathered was the general consensus on these seats. I got lucky with an empty cabin and the seat didn’t feel too cramped for me
Though outdated and wierdly oriented these seats are pretty good for sleeping and for taller folk. A lot of Business Seats these days have cramped foot area while in bed mode and also require you to sleep on your side etc (eg Singapore Airlines)
Doing this flight in 2 weeks and good to know I should probably enjoy the food in the lounges than more than what they’ll have on the plane

I am Hilton Diamond and I stayed in a Panoramic Suite at this Hilton for 4 nights. Worth it.

Hey Phil! Booking air france now from JFK-CDG, will it be the new ones?
I’m not aware of a way to check which specific planes have been outfitted with the new cabins beyond the 4 I mentioned in my video. Some 777-300ERs and now some A350s have versions of this new cabin. Best I can suggest is to search the tail numbers I have in my video to see what routes they have been flying or ask in FlyerTalk or a similar forum.

Can i use bluetooth on the airplane?? I was told no multiple times
Unfortunately Delta only has just started offering Bluetooth in first class on some of their new a321 neos (not the plane featured in this video). The only seats I’ve flown with Bluetooth connectivity are United domestically and Air France’s new business class on their 777-300ER.

@shinobusensui9395 oh, yes you should definitely be able to. I’ve never had an issue with that as Bluetooth works for me even when in airplane mode and lacking Wi-Fi.

I've been on ~20 international business and first-class flights (most of which are documented on this channel). There are still many products I have not flown yet and hope to.

It's not just any mattress pad, it's memory foam mattress pad. The friendly cabin crew more than makes up for the hostel style biz class seats.
This is definitely worth calling out. I feel like I did not emphasize enough how good the mattress pad was.
great trip report! I'm an Aussie but much prefer Air New Zealand than Qantas. Yes, the business class seat is a bit... weird, but I find it the best bed in the sky! The crew are always friendly and helpful. You should have asked the crew to make your bed. Love your dry humour! Looking forward to your next trip report

I’m really not a fan of the herringbone seats. I was blessed to fly on the Jetblue Mint Studio and I wasn’t a fan of being angled towards the aisle where you can see everyone walk by you and you can’t see out the window.
Agreed - it must be even worse on a narrow body. Does the door help at all? Fortunately the cabin crew on this flight were super friendly but also gave me my space, and there were no other people on my side.
The door helped a little bit, but overall you could still see waist up on most people walking by. It probably would’ve felt a little more spacious on a wide body but overall I prefer Polaris, Delta One, or AA Flagship to Jetblue Mint. Nonetheless, it’s a great seat for the duration of the flights the plane serves. I would still love to try ANZ sometime!
