This a performance of "Ohayō" by the group Kaijū Daiko led by John Yost. This is part of our opening performance at the 2012 Amateur Athletic Union Karate Tournament in St. Charles, Illinois. The setup includes several 中太鼓 (chū daiko). You might already be familiar with the word "Ohayō." It's used in Japanese as a greeting and a way to say hello in the morning. This is one of my favorite pieces...

Their last Manzai performance was in 91’, before I was born. They finished their main story early and have been doing side quests since 91’.
ダウンタウン used to come on Fuji TV in NYC. No subtitles. but they were funny anyway. Now that I can read it they're even funnier!! 🎉
Gyūtan tatan tan tatatan Gyūtan tatan -- Tanaka Kakuei.
Fun fact: Shoutan is from the Fukui prefecture. Why did they skip it? 10:45

This is very cool 👍
Because of Hitori-San , every time I see a young Matsumoto, All I can think of is his Yearbook Skit.
3:08 Apparent drug reference in a Japanese joke! That's a first for me, especially with it that visible
I saw this 8 or so years ago before I went to Japan to live for a while. It was a great cultural introduction. Still absolutely hilarious now.
One thing I love about Japanese comedy... it sometimes takes a bit to get going but when it hits it gets you good, a deep kind of laugh. ...み!

This is great translation!! Thanks for the work
4:33 Tanaka fukenkou actually sounds like "Tanaka is not healthy" 4:36 "Tanaka who draws too much manga is unhealthy"
2:05 is actually "Coffee Mocha Matari"

I had forgotten how utterly balls to the wall this one is

People need to know this video is cursed. I watched it twice and now - out of the blue and completely out of context - I find myself saying: "Tanaka Kakuway" and people are looking at me weird.
The same thing happened to me!!!
@@IJethrobot Ok, one month after the curse. I've bought some milk powder here in Brazil, and the brand's name was "Nutriway". So I said it out loud, very energetically for no reason: "Nutri-waaay!" It was immediately followed by "Tanaka Kakuway."
Coming soon...
lol
面白い!
Sukses selalu ya kak udah saya sabcrib
I keep coming back to this video time and again. You've no idea how much your subtitles have helped me understand Japanese comedy better, increase my vocabulary and learn new things about Japan! THANK YOU <3 THANK YOU <3 THANK YOU <3
You're welcome, and I'm glad it's been helpful! There are some mistakes in my translation here and other comedy videos I've done, because I'm not a native speaker and still have a lot to learn about how Japanese is used in this medium. But it was still a fun exercise, and Rahmens is hilarious. I'm glad to share this little slice of Japanese language and culture. : )

メーテルがI Love Youなの草
seeing both of them doing manzai is so rare for real
The part where he says "lemme hear you say whoah woah woah"-- I've heard that from Parappa the Rapper, is that what they are referencing? Or is that something else??
I've discovered Rahmens with their "Italian" sketch. As an Italian, I found it very funny, but this "American" one is simply unsurpassed!!! 😂😂😂 Their absolute best!!
Viejo lo del final fue muy racista...
これ、翻訳で伝わってるのか…?
This is exactly how I remember France
7:45 "II kuni tsukuroh Kamakura Bakuhu"(Let's establish a good country, Kamakura Shogunate) is one of the most famous mnemonics for memorizing years of historical events. (In Japan we memorize some important years, which is useful.) But in this time Rahmens said "II kuni 'toritsukuroh' "(Let's smooth over and make believe it's a good country.), and it keeps being a mnemonic for 1192(I-I-ku-ni sounds like 1-1-9-2). P.S. From a few years ago, the Building year of Kamakura Shogunate is taught as 1185, so the mnemonic changed to "II hako tsukuroh"(Let's make a good box.) This doesn't sound so good, however.
6:10 Gunma(群馬) literally writes "Gathered(群) horses(馬)".
Thank you for all these translations!!
shitty sketch
No matter how many times I've seen this, I always crack up laughing when Kentaro Kobayashi gets the megaphone out.
i want to honor who makes the upper subtitle of this sketch lol😂
