Dasselbe beim 400 SE, Motor M 119 mit 4,2 Liter! Oder der Diesel 300 SD Turbo, Motor OM 603 mit 3,5 Liter. Erst ab Mitte 1993 mit der Einführung der neuen Nomenklaturen dann die korrekte Typenbezeichnung (S 320 - S 420 - S 350 TD)!

Impressive till this day, comodity,refined, elegance, distinguished a true piece of engineering, I wonder where did all that go, the new cars, with the exception of the Mayfair, if they still make it, most of those cars were limousines, or chauferred driven, the newer ones, unless it*s a special edition or limited edition, anybody who is a lawyer, doctor can drive one, the W140, you could see a lot of important & distiguished people with one maybe two, even in todays standards, it started, with a motorized carriage of sorts, then through the years, different models, then come the 280 in all it*s forms, the 300 in all it*s forms, the 450 in all it*s forms, the W126, The W140.

Ein Auto was seiner Zeit definitiv derbe voraus war heute fällt er kaum auf wenn man mal einen sieht was ja immens selten geworden ist eben - wenn man heute ein Ford Mondeo nur sieht der sieht doch auch schon wuchtig genug aus z.B. - Diese S-Klasse W - 140 war von den Sitzen eine Wucht Megabequem vor allem die Coupe Einzelsitze im Fond es war ein völlig anderes Raumgefühl als im W - 124 und dennoch hatte die Optik eine gewisse Ähnlichkeit mit der damaligen Mittelklasse nur eben nicht böse gemeint nun als aufgepumpte Version aber eben sehr viel mehr Luxus und Technik (Can Bus u.a.) !!!! ....
