The passenger and auto ferry Pelee Islander II was built at the Asenav Shipbuilding Company in Valdivia, Chile to run between Leamington/Kingsville, Ont., was delivered to her new homeport of Kingsville in mid June 2018.
The 222-foot-long vessel can accommodate 399 people and 34 cars, or four tractor-trailers and 16 cars. Pelee Islander II will ultimately replace the 58-year-old Pelee Islander on the run.

What i learned today was : I can use a outled to putt electricity in and use the power on the other outleds... Ofcourse after i turn all the switches in my fusebox.... Going to try that somewhere this week with a small backup pack in my house.

If it's showing a square wave, they lied about it being pure sign wave. it's a cheap modified wave.
RIDICOULUS my victron 500w take 500w indefinitely and 1150w surge. and at 100% power voltage drop from 230 to 227v. if you put to That crap 3000 w, voltage probably drop to less then 200v. But cant handle 3000w. This garbage is DANGEROUS!! like people that sponsoring these type of garbage

Hello. Any tips on how to increase the wattage?
There’s no way to increase the wattage of the stock inverter without replacing it and all the wiring. You’d be better off just buying another inverter with a higher rating and using it separately
@@crownlounger of course they use the smallest wires possible for the stock inverter so working guys can't upgrade it cheaply... I was just gonna swap it out....
Haha yeah of course. I once read somewhere that if an auto manufacturer could save 1 inch of wire per vehicle, over the course of the production run of that vehicle they could save a million dollars… for the same reason they are definitely not going install larger wiring or fuses for the possibility that someone might want to swap it out one day for a larger inverter
Would it handle charging my makita 20v drill battery’s while I’m driving around?
Yes it should just fine. I used it for charging my 20v Dewalt batteries. Seems to take a bit longer than when it’s plugged into the wall, but it still works.
What about using buck reducer if u use the 24v one? Just curious

Hey bud! Can you help me out? I have a 2021 Silverado 1500WT . After watching your vid i would assume we have the same 400w built in...? It's not good enough for me. I want at least 800w and was thinking of 1200w. So, could i replace the built in 400 or should i just do my own thing separate from the truck wiring harness. If i COULD swap out the 400 to an 8 then do you think the wiring harness is up for the spec ? or thats gotta be upsized too...? I mean obviously the fuse but i don't know where that is yet either let alone if its a thermal, i hope it is.

Sorry for the late reply! So I was reading that the inverter is located on the back wall of the cab somewhere. I no longer have the truck, so I can't confirm that. As far as upgrading to a larger sized inverter, I'm not sure it's as simple as swapping it out for a larger one. My gut tells me that all the wiring is sized for 400 watts max, which works out to be approximately 33 amps, at 12 volts. By moving to a 1200 watt inverter, the max amperage would be somewhere around 100 amps at 12 volts... A substantial increase! I can absolutely guarantee that non of the wiring from the fuse box to the inverter is sized for that, and I would even go as far to say that the wiring from the inverter to the 120 volt outlets is likely not sized large enough for the potentially 10 amps at 120vac. Replacing all the wiring to each outlet and rewiring to the inverter is doable, but I'm sure it would be a lot of work. I hope this helps!

I think an inverter like this would work, although if I were to buy another one, I would choose one with 24v or 48vdc input instead of 12 volt

The voltage difference on the batteries might be just the voltage drop of the leads.

I have been using the outlets to charge solar generators for camping. I have one in the cab to power my fridge and one at the tailgate to make coffee. Charge while a drive. I have found that I can only get 300 watts before it trips. Can not get anywhere close to 400 watts. I would be interested to see what your watt limit is. Currently I can have 229 watts charger working in the front with a 43 watt charger in the back. Tried different chargers in the back trying to get closer to like 350 total watts. At 331 watts it trips out. At 295 watts is does not. At what wattage will your trip out?
Unfortunately it was a work truck and I was forced to trade it in for a Ford… :( Just a guess, but I believe that the 12v cigarette lighter outlets are also on the same circuit. If you are using a phone charger or other 12v accessories it might be pulling some power from the same circuit as well causing it to overload. If that isn’t it, it’s likely to have an actual load rating lower than what they claim.

Not a super helpful video. I was looking for info on fixing/ testing the inverter itself. Neither outlet in my 2020 Silverado is working whether the engine is running or not and even though the AC outlet button lights up green. The fuse tested good. Not sure what to check next.

Test it under load. Under load most of the cheap Chinese equipment will break down and the sine wave will become distorted.

TIP Solar; You can gradually dim down an under-table bulge and all other hungry electricity consumers with a 5000W dimmer (7, EUR). I run 5 dimmers in parallel on an 850W inverter. Kettle 2.2KW at 150W runs for 12 hours at a time, so the water is always hot. The room is also nicely heated. 2.5KW washing machine runs in parallel with dimmed to 200...400W. Iron, dishwasher, oven, electric heater, coffee machine, all internal heating are throttled with me. A small, cheap mini solar inverter is now sufficient for everything.
The transformer isn't needed some claim it changes the wave. Just need the 10x probe available from multiple brands. I just made a vid showing an example search YT for "2uPgP3S5sug" and it will be the first vid, or go to my channel and click on videos. It's currently the latest vid.
For sure, I definitely agree. There is no way that a transformer can change the sine wave. The sine wave in should look exactly like the sine wave out. As far as the different probe, I know I could get a different one, but I happened to have the doorbell transformer already, and I hate spending money on things if I can avoid it. I always laugh when I see the words, 'pure sine wave' on an inverter. It's an oxymoron. The 2 are incompatible. The fets open and close rapidly creating whatever wave form possible but certainly not "pure". Filters also help. But again not a pure sine wave. If you look at the little bumps in your wave form, you will see these irregularities are less than pure, which would be completely smooth. Knowing how the dc is converted to ac in an inverter tells you that these devices are incapable of a 'pure' sine wave. Not that they aren't acceptable either, mind you. But none the less, a bit disingenuous. It is possible to create so many pulses to get the waves into a more useable form but not pure. And again, that's by nature of the way an inverter works. If you want pure sine wave you get a generator and spin it around inside 2 fields to produce one. Many of these inverters do get you close enough for useful purposes, though.

I believe you can plug in a 10x probe and run straight to the meter. Set the meter on 10x probe. Many fancy Oscopes are much lower voltage and other vids say use the 10x probe and change the setting. It does something with the probe signal or something. With the inverter I guarantee that is not a continuous 3000w. It's at best 1500w maybe 3000w peak for a couple seconds or whatever. Plug in a plain old 1500w heater for a good test. Many times low is 1300w and high is 1500w

Found it informative ---- Meanwhile, the 3000W is for the Peak Wattage.. not a running wattage .. The Running rated Watt is 1500W... If you scroll down on the seller page one can see it. I wonder why they like putting the Peak watt as the label. Thanks anyway, enjoyed it. I just ordered a small one, 1000w Peak, 500 Running Watt. for laptops and other small appliances. For us back in Nigeria, we are totally on blackout. Thanks once again.
I think with some better batteries I might be able to show that the inverter could support heavy peak startup loads up to 3000w from devices with motors. My guess is that it wouldn’t support 3000w for much longer than a few seconds.
Your disconnect cuts power to both poles?
It’s a 2 pole disconnect, and I only have 120v (single phase feed) to the garage. The disconnect opens both the hot and neutral lines
