Cowboys set those standards over 10 years ago. Anyone saying it’s harsh - it’s just the standard for our club. No one is bigger than the club. We’ve lost bigger names to similar breaches but it’s a standard we’ve set. And to be fair you can’t blow over any amount driving as a senior figure over young guys who are looking up to you while sacrificing their own behaviour and lifestyle choices and making sure they don’t make similar mistakes. Get the ref to watch the 1997 ARL grand final. Toovey was targeted with constant dog shots head high tackles one of which knocked him out cold fell face first into the ground 5 minutes later he’s back on the field playing, even the commentators back then were like maybe he shouldn’t be back on, he was out cold a few minutes ago. Then a bit later in the game a player deliberately stomps his head, multiple stud holes blood going down his face, not so much as a penalty and the game goes on. If that game were played today Chief would have been banned from playing for half a year. Great game to go back and watch
