Where is mine?
Well done to both of you, especially Ryan !
Aww thank you so much.
Thank you for your wonderful videos. Can you guide me where I can buy Tatashe seeds? Thank you đđŸ
Thank you for watching I got mine from Nigeria a few years ago. If you have anyone they can just bring the Tatashe and you take the seeds to plant. But it is too late to start it in the uk
Im in London and love your videos. I have no garden so im growing purple potatoes in buckets by my front door. Im getting sweet potato slips ready to plant after my iminant harvest. Its late in the season and some of the slips look like they have salt of the leaves which I think could be over watering?
Lovely to hear this purple potatoes are simply amazing weâve been growing them for a few years now. It might be too late to start sweet potatoes now I prefer starting them in the winter do let me know how it goes when you grow them. Thank you for watching â€ïž
Your garden is perfect and greenđđđ
Awww youâre too kind Ogom. It isnât perfect but this is peak season so things are looking amazing now.
đ
I love this space đ
Aww thanks
Thanks for sharing another inspirational video Meka đ„° Have you considered / ever tried planting African yams (not potatoes) in the UK? Secondly, what do you normally do with old compost (ie after harvesting your crops from containers or pots)? Do you recycle it?
My pleasure always thank you for watching @herbaltea5546. I grew African yams in my first year in the allotment actually outdoors and they started growing and I was excited but the foxes kept digging them up. I didnât bother growing it anymore because it requires a fairly long and hot season to grow nothing compared to sweet potatoes and we eat so much of it that I just canât grow enough to be self sufficient in so itâs just not worth my time and energy. I reuse all my compost in pots I might just add in fresh compost to revive the soil and itâs good to go.
Hi am making this today how much magnesium oil did I add
All the best the formula is in the description box
This is nice. Super woman
Thank you so much â€
Wow! Why have I never thought of making Jollof sauce in bulk to save time? This is such an innovative idea. Thanks for sharing! âŁ
Thank you for watching it definitely saves so much time.
Wow beautiful, I'm looking for sweet potato leaves can you please give me some please đđŒ
Thank you where are you located?
Hi where can I come and buy them
@@treadingful hi I donât sell them we just grow for personal use
@@mekashealingjourney I was looking for the for the full sweet potato with the roots and leaves đ on them still etc and seem to be the only one in the u.k with them đ even if itâs just one 1ïžâŁ
@@treadingful ah I actually donât have that yet.
Can I buy the scent leaf from you in UK
I donât grow enough to sell
I like the fact that you're teaching your son how to cook. I commend you for this lifestyle. đâ€
Thank you sis hopefully one day they would start cooking independently.
I'm off tinned food completely. I would've preferred fresh plum tomatoes đ all the way. It comes out well.
We use it in emergency rather than buying non organic fresh. Iâm so excited our garden tomatoes are getting ripe.
I live in the Abruzzo region of Italy and this bean is an absolute staple in the diet here. It is also a key ingredient in the classic dish "pasta e fagioli". A wonderful bean indeed.
Wow interesting I will look up the pasta e fagioli
Can I use this flour to make Pap?
Iâm not sure about pap. Corn is usually used for pap but baby food consistency definitely
Wow your garden is doing well with the fresh tomato, cabbage and lettuceđđđ
Thank you sis harvest time is lovely
I was expecting you'll blend it with the dry mill blender after roasting it. I do mine either way.
The wet mill is very fast thank you sis for watching â€ïž
Good training for your young lad
Letâs catch them young
I enjoyed watching this. Great teamwork ! Iâll use this method next time I make egusi.
Thank you so much âșïž try it you will definitely love it
Like the process you used and looks yummyđđđ
Thank you sis â€
Thanks for sharing these tips with usđđđ
My pleasure đ sis thank you so much
Brilliant compost advice. Chicken poo (for me) or occasional human wee (for my son's garden compost heap on my advice) activates all the good microbes like you say. not too much, just 50/50 green stuff, like our kitchen green waste, grass cippings or nettles from the railway paths near our home and a bit of carboard, old hay/straw or shredded paper. Your garden looks so healthy! Love it.
Thank you @ Michellebarbour I agree whatever you have can be used and chicken poo is gold.
Hello thank you for reaching me you can just store it in a cool place away from direct sunlight thatâs how I store mine. Buy that is only after harvesting in October. All the best.

How long did it take from planting the stem to harvest (maturity)? Can I have your contact or how to reach you.... How do I get the stem, can I just get it from waterleaf I buy from the African store?
It took a while our Uk weather is not very favourable to waterleaf. Iâve actually stopped growing it
I agree on your urine idea. Don't be shy about speaking about it. Please; anyone reading this... Consider medications that you may be excreted in your urine. Keep in mind; when you give a urine sample for drugs... it shows up. So... would the drugs in your system effect your compost? ... I do not know; but, its something to investigate. Drug free? Have at it in your compost! Nice garden!
Absolutely worth noting especially people on cytotoxic drugs.
Good advice. Thank you.
My pleasure
Urine provides ammonia which is great for accelerating decomposition. Great idea. I never thought of that...that's why I'm here!†I have heard though that you can spread urine (from a male specifically) around the perimeter of your garden to discourage rodents
Yes the boys do that not just for rodents but also foxes apparently. Thank you for watching â€ïž
Meka you always add value thank you. I love your videos
Aww this is so sweet đ„č thank you so much Erika
Thank you! You give me some hope. Ive had 2 really poor harvests. Trying again bit maybe started a little late as my slips didnt arrive till June. Will try to start my own slips How do you store your sweet potato? I read somewhere you should cover with a damp towel for a month before eating, to cure them? Mine went mouldy Thanks
My pleasure Erika I store the tubers in a cool dry place for me itâs the garage. I currently them in the polytunnel by covering them for about 10 days I make sure there are vent holes in the container so although it sweats it still isnât air tight. Growing your slips is the best way forward so you can start them early
@@mekashealingjourney thank you đ
Hi Meka. Thanks for sharing. My garlic harvest was a bit disappointing also. I do get rust but generally it doesnt affect the crop too much. I think this year the wet winter and cold spring has been the problem for me.
Hi Erika thank you for this I agree the wet and cold extremes didnât do the garlic any good
Is this like the tropical sweet potato? I bought one for supermarket and steam boiled them and they're mushy yucky. Back in my tropical country, we have white, purple, orange, but they dont turn mushy. They're firm, sweet, and taste damn good.
These are in between
Which of the mg salt is mixed?
Let us know what it takes like please.
I definitely will. Thank you so much sis
From what am seeing, it's a very lucrative business;been contemplating on starting this bole and fish đ business in kumasiđ
It is indeed go for it. People will love it.
Thanks dearâ@@mekashealingjourney
Wow ! that is an incredible harvest of leaves ! I commented on your video about planting sweet potatoes here in SE England and was amazed at your success. These are fantastic and the difference between the ones in the poly tunnel and the ones on the ground is really useful to see. I never knew you could eat the leaves, so I will watch the comments and look out for any recipe ideas. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and best wishes to you.
@Lisadixon thank you so much for always commenting. I appreciate you. Yes this year has been very interesting with the sweet potato vines. I hope we have a decent harvest of tubers too. I have saved those leaves in the freezer and I should share my recipe when I get round to making something with them.
Thankyiubfor sharing. Where do you source your Tigernut milk from in the UK?
