Leatherman Free K2
zhlédnutí 231Před 3 lety
This is a nice EDC knife that doubles as a possible multi-tool replacement. I carry this now instead of my Leatherman Wave as the wave is really more than I need at work. I generally need a Phillip's and/or flathead screwdriver and I open a lot of boxes and break them down and this is perfect for that. Having a dedicated box opener helps to save the knife edge as a major plus. www.leatherman.co...

hey Gunfighters are in stock now at KNIVES SHIP FREE
Thanks for the review
Do you still have the Alpha? hows it holding up long term for you? have you experienced any issues with the steel rusting or had any other general durability issues with the knife?
Royce has a really good notepad wallet I've been using since 2015 it was $30 on amazon when I got it, now it's $50. I am thinking of replacing it with the dango now that it's worn out though, just A. out of curiosity and B. so I can use a rite in rain notepad in it. But I really love it
I’d have the first aid in a different bag (possibly a white one or anything that isn’t black and blends in with the other bags) and up higher so it’s the first thing you see. Don’t wanna be in a bad condition where seconds matter and you’re fumbling for bandages.
I love this set up. Thanks for a lot of good ideas. Nice content.
You should check out the One Star Leather Goods, Park Sloper Jr.
Thanks!
Pen looks like the ink exploded.
Thanks for sharing. I just saw these pop up on Knives ship free. I was sold halfway through your video and ordered one. If I can figure out how to mount it to my body armor ill take it on my next deployment. Looks like it would be perfect for opening MRE's.
It'll open more than just MRE's! Lon's work is really something! Since the Gunfighter I now have 6 of his other knives too! You might look up Mark Maccoun bladesmith online and on Facebook. He makes knives but also tactical combat tomahawks and breaching hammers! Thanks for your service!
Very cool video. Lots of great ideas here.
Is there an additional second sling to make it secure, like the Hazard 4 Plan B ?
No actually there isn't. It generally sits pretty low on the back and it's small enough that it doesn't move around much.
The pen is Garbage. The grooves where the O-rings go are so deep that the metal there is paper thin, and it breaks very easily. I had it for about 10 days, and it snapped from the pressure of me writing!!!

Helpful, quick, succinct, and elaborative. Just what I needed to know, thank you! Have one on the way for an upcoming trip to a well known amusement park for kids. Should be helpful not just for that trip.
I literally have it in either my or my wife's truck all the time! Change the water in the flask every few days and swap it out between the vehicles as needed! Thanks!
where can i get this water bottle?
I got it on Amazon. www.amazon.com/dp/B07P37WVBB/ref=cm_sw_r_u_apa_fabc_BKFWDN4R4PCAJ1J9DPB4?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Its not just you, The schmidt ink cartridge's Leak a lot. Use a Fisher space pen refill and problem solved.
Thanks!
Trayvax has a revised notebook that at least fixes the problem with the pad sliding out; still it's the same size, though, and Dango still wins if you need something a little bigger. I like both these companies a lot.
I did like the Trayvax too. The notebook size was the one thing thst made a difference.
Really informative mate, really good, good job
Thanks! Still goes everywhere with me!
Thank you.
Literally the perfect field knife!!
Do youeself a favor sir..just a suggestion..expand that first aid kit!
Have the same sling... wish the main strap was longer being a bigger guy and all
Focus Focus Focus or step back, my eyes are hurting!
I know! These are the first videos i did using the Canon m50 and I guess it wasn't set up correctly! When i was editing it I was concentrating on transitions and i didn't notice how out of focus some of it was! Thanks for the comment though! Constructive criticism is welcome (as opposed to trolling)!
@@garypalmer6848 Nice knife though.
@@sgbradley got it with me right now! It's always in my backpack!
@@garypalmer6848 What's the weight of leather on the sheeth?
@@sgbradley I'm not really sure to be honest. Its heavy though. I'll see if i can find out from the maker.
Imagine if he was your step dad
Dango for the win, I just got an A-10 Bifold with Pen and it’s amazing.
I did a one year review of it that will be up this weekend once i get finished editing it!
YEP!
Who's watching waiting for their wallet to come in the mail lol
Great down to earth, informative video. Thanks. I just purchased the D007 from Dango
I still have mine. It's a great wallet and I'm tempted by some of their other stuff too.
I have the d007 too. I trimmed it down for dress wear. Thats my go to in a suit or nice occasion. A man needs 3 wallets, one for dress Dango D007, one for casual everydayDango P01, and one for travel( Bifold for Cash carry). Each with a different set of attributes.
Good review, I love dango and I had the same wallet you did. But now I care the M1 rail. Anyways the pen takes Fisher refills.
Is the dango easier to find replacement notebooks for?
Last I looked you can get notebooks for either on their respective online stores.
To many cards you need only one card and some cash . Simple lifestyle
Did the replacement cardridge treat you better? I just ordered one of these and I'm just curious. Thanks!
I actually got a replacement pen. I think the original had an issue. After that no problems so I think just a fluke with the one.
@@garypalmer6848 Thank you for the response sir. I'm glad it worked out. I actually got the Dapper Pen Wallet, it's pretty much like the one you have. It's good to know it was just a faulty pen. Thanks again!
Sexiest fixed blade ever
I've been tempted to get one of the new ones but this one was my first Lon Humphrey's knife so it's kind of special!
Exactly! I lucked out and got a new one with elder burl. It’s just the coolest Bowie ever. You are so right, I fell in love as soon as I saw it
I have to admit I haven’t got out and beat on mine lol
Trayvax has new version of the notebook wallet summit 2.0
That's worth a look, thanks!
Great review was so close to getting that Trayvax but the 007 limited edition Dango pen and wallet won, just ordered. Thanks for your help in the decision
I liked the Trayvax but the Dango won out. Still using it daily!
Gary Palmer thanks again I believe it will be a great addition for me
That 007 had me drooling, but I went with the A-10 Bifold with Pen instead. I may get it in the future.
What is the steel?
Mine is: Overall Length: 14.5" Blade Length: 8.25" Blade Steel: 1095 Carbon Steel Blade Thickness: .245" Weight: 19.8oz. However there are some new ones on both DLT and Knives Ship Free and those are: Specifications Overall Length: 14.5" Blade Length: 8.25" Blade Steel: 52100 Bearing Steel Blade Thickness: .250" Weight: 19.8oz. www.knivesshipfree.com/lon-humphrey-custom-knives-gunfighter-bowie/ www.dlttrading.com/lon-humphrey-gunfighter-bowie
New ones are 52100
That's a beautiful custom brother. Just got me one of those with curly maple handles with black liners. My favorite design of Mr. Humphreys by far.
There are several of his that I still want. The Alpha is a good one too!
what happens when the notebook runs out?
Both companies sell replacements.
Seems like a Molskine Volant would fit.
The pen will break before You can use it that much.
Good comparison. Trayvax has updated their Summit wallet. Dango has a new pen/notebook/wallet combo in their D-Tex material. It’s worth a look.
Piss poor audio. I couldn't even hear this shithole video
The audio is totally shot and un hearable in this video
Use your LEFT headphone next time... the right is low.. the left is perfect.
My left nut is totally shot but my right can really shoot like a marksman
Thanks for the review very helpful
Thanks for the nice comment!
No concern with anyone breaking in? I have a soft top too and I'm hesitant to leave any sort of bags in it
Not where I live fortunately. Also the Wrangler is usually in the garage at night.
What's the difference? Even if you don't have a jeep someone can break out your window to gain entry
love you gary
love your videos gary
Thanks!
ok i got it
Good looking bag & set up . Tail me more an that small knife
Good video Gary
Thanks!
good video...too pricey for me...but a good knife by the looks of it...
Undoubtedly expensive for a lot of people but getting a knife this size to fit my paws ain't easy! So I thought it might be of benefit for some others to see it! Thanks for the input though!
yep, I get that...lots of people out there with the money to spend...
They may be pricey but knowing the BRKT warranty, that knife will last multiple life times.
