The more ants you build, the more refuse you will store. Each ant tile holds 20 refuse, refuse which needs to be disposed of. Making an ant tile produces a minum. Having too many minums and not enough refuse means you bottleneck yourself. The other important factor is, upgraded refuse tiles decompose refuse faster, which means you make fungus faster, which means you get food faster. In reality you could make more workers netting you more leaves, but it's not going to help if you can't dispose of the refuse fast enough that you get from your ant tiles when the leaves are used. The way I play has got me some of the most challenging achieves in the game, even if my playstyle is out of the ordinary.

I agree, but, it's also useless if your leaf storage has a constant 0 from lack of workers getting food quickly enough to truly justify the huge refuse dump. I think it should be done in balance, maybe 7-10 tiles level 2 for a solid 15 mins or until it's full yk? Btw good video ​@@nehimaZA

@Dominik-xs9pj It sure can be done. I wasn't saying do it my way at all. Many things can work, it's RTS after all. I was just explaining why I did it that way, or shall I say at least the way I was doing it in this video where I actually got a win. Many ways were tried. And thank you!

Well I'm apparently even one step further away as I only watched parts of the vid to get a global idea, only to realize the Meticulous Harvest achievement is only obtainable by activating the challenge, which I didn't even do (which explains why I had way more soldiers than you did). Well at least I just beat it without the challenge...😂

@@nehimaZA Yes they certainly will. At least I managed to beat 'The harvest' on impossible with the help of your vid so it's already something! But I'm pretty sure there is quite a difficulty gap between the harvest and this one.

@sjonnoh You'll get it! I'm just super amped for update 1 with termites and megaponera it's gonna be cool. I've been dedicating a lot of my spare time to other games I enjoy, but as soon as the update lands on June 7th, I'll start making vids on EotU again.

Are you actually referring to the big-headed ants? The little black ants should be no issue for your fire ants. It's the big-headed ant super soldiers that are scary. However, they will only send these early game if they are alerted to your presence. I'm not sure about the little black ant soldiers, it's most likely an RNG thing. Keep trying, you'll get it. Try reload a few times and see if it happens again.

@@gamesbond9513 Yeah I figured you had the two mixed up. To avoid the aggro from them early on just don't let them spot your ants. That will give you a lot of time to build up forces before they decide to send the Super Soldiers :)

I've been working on it, countless attempts already. The biggest issue I'm facing with it is as soon as you get the requirements the Pheidole start sending their super majors and things get rough. I'll get it worked out sometime! I don't have all too much time on my hands with work which is sad! but I'll get it one day!

@@nehimaZAi will tell you my strategy! first i put nest workers into first pheromone marker disable food pick up and attack and dig straight to the nest entrance, then i dig out the black and white larvae bug and leave the workers by the entrance so the grub attacks the queen. then you turn food pick up and attack on and you kill the grub and it shouldnt attack any workers. then collect food get 7 attack ants open up the nest exit and collect from outside aphids. then you try to sneak ants to big head ants aphids try to go in, kill a worker or two at max then turn attack off and get aphids the fire ants should be fast enough. then go get other aphids and good luck!

Thank you! Yes I agree. With the impossible levels you just don't have time to make things look pretty. It hurts my brain also. Achievement > Tidy nest :). So if you look at some of my achievement videos I go into explaining stuff in the description. Standard Impossible achievements there's not really much to explain. Just practice and timings really. Impossible is just do what you normally do on lower difficulties, but faster. In most cases, sticking with the same build over and over, as the difficulty increases, but you are faster, wins it for you. Look at it this way as and example: If it takes you 1 minute to build 20 fire ant tiles in beautiful little underground layouts, how much extra time did you spend making the nest look all pretty compared to the amount of time a quick clear + build would give you? You spent less time decorating and used the time to setup your next gather point netting you more food to progress faster!

So one tactic to use against spiders to avoid having your ants overrun is to stack your army groups in a single chamber. That way they can band together to fight the spiders instead of being spread out. The better strategy to use against spiders is to place random food tiles far from your queen, this baits the spiders as can be seen in this video czcams.com/video/Tq1rZpiEuvo/video.html

Haste > Crit > Versatility > Mastery. Mastery is our lowest stat because it has no effect on damage done. You heal through atonement which is 50% of the damage you do. This however really depends on the gear you have, higher ilvl is always the better option between stats when choosing different ilvl gear so don't stick to a stat priority strictly.
