THANK YOU!!! This helped me release this muscle in both legs. I feel so much better.
Posterior or anterior
I crossed my left leg over my right and I heard a pop. The top of my left gracilis muscle finally released. That was weird considering it was the non-working leg.
I injured my ACL quite badly, and realized around a year later than the gracilis on that side is super tight & also super weak. I've found your channel to be one of VERY FEW which actually have gracilis exercises on CZcams.
thanks much, i had cramp in my extensor digitorium brevis this really helped a lot
This exercise for what?sorry I'm not good in English so much...but i wonder what is pelvis?
Thank you so much for this! I’ve been looking for a good stretch for this muscle and your video is the only one that really gets it for me. 👍
Gotta get those bunions bro! Leaving a ton of ankle stability on the table
Hi can do this for partial SL tear?
That worked but I also felt non working leg. Maybe, I was tensing too much. It was challenging to keep the lower back flat on the floor.
Can you share information about strengthening this muscle?
Which side is for? Assuming it's for the side that is being lifted.
I am having a knee pain under knee joints and pressing vastus latrialis muscles with my both hands and then moving my legs then I don't have any pain in the movement as I remove my hands from the vastus latrialis muacle and the start moving my leg than again i am having the same pain. I have to gone to many physiotherapists but non of them could gave me the solution, Please help me out regarding this i am into sports (cricket) i do fast bowling. And because of this i feel afraid of my future that i will get a bigger injury due to this
Looking helpful thanks
hahah the guy in the vid does olympic weightlifting
This has helped me a lot thank you 😁😁
Perfect demo 👌
Thank you. Without stretch?
Good Ty
@@linkulinks3189I can’t tell for sure, but what might be confusing is abduction of the foot is relative to the rear foot, so it is a movement closer to the medial line of the whole body, but seen from the perspective of the foot, you are abducting.
Do u extend ur elbow
Your account always helps me. Very underrated channel.
Can you extend your arm
My ass hurts like I just fucked a horse
Thank you this really works
This excercise is for rehab or just general excercise
Does this work for the other toes and big toe?
Yes it does.
Can you say how to do the stretch
Thank you, have been struggling with what i assume as gracilis pains on both legs for years.
Not trying to sound like an ass, I cannot cross my leg like that. Is there anything else to help?
you can try curling the toes and pushing against the wall or a resistance as you try to open and uncurl the toes
Am I supposed to feel tension on working leg or non working leg
the working leg - which is the leg that is straighter
What if the pain to touch is under the arm. Would the lats also be suspect
If the pain is under the upper arm, it may indicate triceps overload, the specific head which is tender may indicate the faulty mechanics and the underlying compensation, deficit and maladaptation of the entire shoulder complex. Lats may or may not be an issue.
@@myoshealthclinic42 personally I'm trying to rehab several parts but one at a time. Started with scapula support, now I'm trying lats. When I bend my arm back to far (like throwing a ball) it feels very weak. I was drug down a conveyor. Pretty sure I tore the accessory muscle to my neck. I heard the loudest pop in my ear upon the 7th foot down the conveyor belt. "A doctor checked me out" and "an ex checked me out" neither did me justice. So it's a year since the accident and I'm just learning about this kt tape. Also.. when my neck gets tired from work I have uncontrollable vomits. Not sure if that's life threatening or not. Between insurance cause my ex was into child photography so I'm states away now.
@@myoshealthclinic42 the doctor only looked at my hand, cause my immediate problem was touching my thumb to the base of my pinky. Even though I told them the same story.
Excellent cueing and video demonstration of proper form
Thank you very much! hope it helped.
What is purpose of this excercise?
engaging and activation of the medial head of the gastrocnemius muscle
But the VL doesn't cross the hip joint, only the knee joint
True but without involving the hip, it will be difficult to get the rotation and adduction needed to stretch the part of the quads which is the fibres of the VL.
@@lyphit vl doesnt abduct the hip and it only rotates the femur internally when the tibia is supported on the ground. So your comment doesnt make sense and neither does the video because the person is even rotating his hip internally.
Hello, so this helps build the vastus lateralis muscle? Is it possible to have more muscle in the inner thigh, rather than the outer thigh? When I do abduction exercises, on the floor laying on my side, I feel the inner leg sore, and slight soreness of the buttocks but not the vastus lateralis muscle..... I can't find videos or information on how to only build that muscle. Thank you
this won’t build the vastus lateralis but rather aid in building a mind muscle connection of its contraction, moving the muscles from its higher insertion, contracting and holding it will use the muscle in a way that exercising wont really be able to, to work the vastus lateralis try movements such as the squat, bulgarian split squat, sissy squat, lunge and leg press, allow the knees and hips to move freely and correctly in these movements to insure proper contraction of said muscle, on the leg press only place your heels on the platform as this aids in holding the muscle in a peak contraction position (use lighter weights to ensure you can feel it working before you progress)
you should relearn anatomy. thats not where the tibialis posterior sits.
Hi Mr Prophetius, perhaps you will be so kind as to enlighten us where the tibialis posterior sits. And if you are willing, do give us the insertion, attachment and the entire course of the muscle-tendon unit while you are at it. From the posterior aspect of the interosseous membrane between the tibia and fibula to the navicular. Relations to the neurovascular features are not required. Thank you so much.
@@lyphit Sure I can.
@@lyphit 😂
Thank you so much!!!! This has helped me with my itbs problem
Loveee itttt
My left side garcilis muscles is very tight and very painful so pl guid and demo for realies tightness and pain
Are you pain free now?
@@Knud451 I like your humour.
@@ianjones7740 it's not humour , he just want to know what he did ?
I found this useful, ignore the jerks. Myself, am trying to correct a bad running gait (due to bad habits gained from nursing a rib injury) that resulted in ITBS. My left medial is much smaller than my right calf. And I'm guessing some other upper legs muscles and hip as well. I've found that an inwarding-twisting knee, one legged, elevated squat seems to trigger what feels like all my underdeveloped muscle. Is this something good or is it damaging in the long run?
You can possibly do that, but it is much higher level work, more tricky and more likely to go wrong. Start with something simpler, like the above exercise, then progress to standing, then elevated before doing it single-leg. With knee twisting inward or what we commonly call a internal rotation or medial rotation of the knee, there needs to be more ankle and hip/ pelvis control, otherwise there is a higher risk of knee injury if you lose control. I prefer to do heel in and pivotting at the big toe keeping the knee stable rather than turn the knee in - more dangerous and a risky manoeveur, best done with a lot of pre-training. Progress slowly and in a controlled manner.
Wow that brought my hand pain (in a good way). My thumb goes numb every know and then when doing micro movements- and the pain extends to the longus. How can I heal it without surgery?
Hi Dave, you may want to have it properly assessed. Pain may be due to many different reasons and functional state of the muscle. The muscle may be overworked or weak or both or could be compensating for elsewhere, the thumb is quite a complex mechanism that is also closely tied to the function of the wrist. Get a proper assessment done so as to avoid just treating a symptom and end up neglecting the root cause of the problem.
ok not bad. maybe the format of the video is not well organised, but instructions were clear. Is this a stretch or strengthening exercise though?
This is an activation work - basic "strengthening" work of the muscle, this is a low level work but good to get a sense of what needs to be kickstart the rehab process
Very simple and well explained stretches for the peroneals. Thanks!
i wasted my time watching your video
we are sorry this did not meet your expectations.
Very good video. You are the only one that promotes leg muscles streches that do not move on the discs. On your video for the strechin of the gluteus medius you recommend to not rotate on your discs, that is, to keep your back straight. And on this video, you recommend to mantain the pelvis and upper body straight. Do you know whay is that?, why many physiotherapist do not respect the back-pelvis posture while doing the streching? I certainly think that the discs, especially the lumbar discs, need movement for health, but they should not be on the streching, they should move on mobility excerises, like on the cat-camel. What´s your opinion on this?
Thank you, these stretches have helped me more than the cortisone injection I receive from my doctor.
Excellent fcr stretch! Thank you
4 min while it could have actually taken 1 min max to explain everything xD
Thank you, this was meant for rehabilitation patients who may need more hand-holding and guidance of what needs to be done.
