🤗 yes it is. No special equipment required. Almost like playing with a cardboard. A cardboard cutter knife will do too. - Measure and trace. Connect the two ply. Cut. Close the gores. Fix inner Gunwale and roll. Close the ends. Fibreglass outer hull. Fix outer Gunwale. Fibreglass inside (partially will do). Fix fittings. Done! 😊👍🏽😉. Yep. I read carp’s eggs contain the least amount of cholesterol too. How would you cook the eggs. Now I put some in soup, stir fry, omelettes (mix with chicken egg), battered and then deep fried….. any other recipes? 🙏

It was okay but I bought the fish from the local market. Not so fresh. I hope to be doing surf fishing one day. I grew up in the mountains of Borneo. Ocean is not my thing. I m actually scared of the ocean 😕

🤣😂. I hated it in the beginning too. I grew up in Borneo and there are no carps. I tasted first carp maybe 5 years ago and I couldn’t do it. Growing up in Borneo in the village, protein was scarce. Whatever we caught would not go to waste. After a few times preparing and cooking carp, now I prefer carp to any other freshwater fish including some saltwater fish. Carp is tastier than barramundi 🤭😊. I know the pelicans would be happy but they can find their own 🤣. You should consider eating some. If cooked right, it’s very tasty. Thank you 🙏. Ordinary non structural plywood. 3mm. Going into the 5th year now. I can’t imagine it would change shape. The boat is very strong and versatile. The strength comes from the arch. Just like arch bridges. I submerge it in the lake to wash it before going home. 😊. Thank you, again. Planning your build a kayak using the same technique 🤔🤔🤔. Still working on the design. @@corneliusoutdoors I'm glad you have a sense of humor. That's a rare thing to have now in the present day when so many people are so easily offended. I've just been watching videos on how to prepare common carp for eating. When I was a young child, my parents would catch and cook carp occasionally. Now I have access to fishing waters with giant carp living in them. After my childhood was over, I was always told that carp are "Trash-Fish" so they're not very good to eat. Been thinking about catching one and trying to cook it.

@@timmontano8792 All good, mate! When I first arrived in Australia 8 years ago, I heard the same advice. After some research, I discovered that carp is in high demand in many countries, including Europe. We don't have this fish in Malaysia, and growing up in Borneo, fishing wasn't a pastime-it was a means of survival. I had to follow my dad fishing at night, often in the rain, paddling far while hungry, and using mainly nets or makeshift poles from palm fronds with 2 to 3-meter lines. It was a difficult ordeal, but it was necessary to find food. When I got here, I started using a fishing rod with a reel that I bought from KMart for $15. Learning how to use it and cast properly was a challenge, and I eventually gave up and went back to using a simple pole and line. It took me five years to learn how to catch carp effectively. Now, I enjoy free carp for dinner every night, though my family doesn't eat it. I've experimented with various ways to prepare and cook carp, including salting, pickling, drying, and fermenting. Recently, I even made Bottarga from carp eggs. I've recorded all of this on video but haven't had the chance to edit and post them yet. I hope to do so soon. So, you should definitely give carp fishing and cooking a try!

Did not fibreglass and applied paint? A lot cheaper. I use 2 plywood at $18 each. The rest are small nails and tiny beams. But you may need proper glue. Fibreglass helps to hold the boat together

You can still adjust the size, length, width, water displacement, profile of bow and stern. You just need 2 pieces of normal 3mm plywood and fibreglass kit. The strength of the canoe comes from the arch just like an arch bridge but upside down. Done! 😊👍🏽

Nope. Better than the real salmon. The meat is darker and no bones at the meaty section just like barramundi 👍🏽🥰

Both I think. Especially the darker meat along the bloodline. That’s where water displacement happens. If the surrounding water is muddy swampy, the meat smells the same and tastes bad too. By letting the cooked meat rest for 5 to 10 minutes also helps remove the smell signifying .

Additional, bleeding the fish when caught is very important too
