I am in the process currently studying for this exam but my main issue is MATH I am extremely terrible and mentally challenged in this area so most likely ill fail this portion 100% as my brain process nothing number wise I have tried many times in the past in school and other job exams my brain just retains absolutely nothing sadly. The rest of the stuff he mentioned like English stuff thats something that is hit or miss you cant really study for just understand the questions on the exam before answering shit. The memory portion and recognition again is something you know and wing it nothing you can study for I guess...

It is a great exclusive product for firefighter interview tips minus the normal expense. Ive heard some awesome things about it and my work buddy got amazing results with it.

Does anybody know how long does it take to get the results of psychological interview? My psychologist told me he’ll contact me if he needs anything.. I just don’t know what does that mean?

I am 2 hours away from my taking my psych eval. The last step for this amazing job.

Current LEO here. Have been sworn, part-time and reserve for four years now. In 2012, I "failed the MMPI and the doctor said I'd likely become dependent on drugs or alcohol in my career. The other day, I "failed" the CPI and they gave me no explanation whatsoever. Toughest part about the CPI was I had the job. First ever full-time gig after five + years of applying, testing, etc. How does one ever make it through and how do I keep going when I seriously doubt the credibility of these tests and with the swipe of a pen and a 30-minute interview, one "psychologist" can erase what has taken me years to accomplish and the $1700 I spent going back and forth for this job. I just feel entirely railroaded.

my friend failed the test for the chp.. his perfectly fine.. had a great childhood and went to college... it he was profile as social incompetent and lack of social skills any one who might have an opinion why he failed

Wow...very INTERESTING. I wonder if somebody who failed at the apathy/ empathy questions or test could still be a Cop. Can you imagine a Cop with MAJOR apathy and insecurities issues? But heee....you know if you have connections you will always past any psychology test. Even if you still stalked your ex girlfriend after 20 years.

I think the most important questions are, were you bullied as a child/adult. also do you take a oath to harass the public and to make as much money as you can for the city your employed with...... answer all three with a yes and the job is yours.

they look for officers who test with high aggression & lack of sensitivity...that is the definition of a sociopath in a nutshell!

Just took mine, I didn't pass unfortunately, and answered all the questions 100% truthfully. No point in being dishonest when the career you're wanting to achieve is all about serving the people of your community with an honest attitude.

I've been doing assessment on NovoPsych for iPad. Great app. Designed for psychologists.

A lot of psychologists will over react to drinking. Even if you like to go out once a week and tie one on, you do not say that. They will peg you an alcoholic. I know guys that hardly go out, but when they do, they go over what is referred to as binge drinking and are classified alcoholics or potential alcoholics even though none of them can afford to go out more than once a month with having families and house payments.

You could have had a bad day when taking it. Seriously, You will probably pass the 2nd time around with the same guy. I'm sure you're fine. After working in Chicago a few years, maybe not so much!!

Hi, thanks for your posting. It's interesting. I am processing to become a police officer, for GRC. I have already and successfully passed the Rpat test but here, some people argue that RCMP/GRC is sort of official papers, or kind of autorisation to work in federal areas, in all the country. My question is: As a mechanical, do you think i can realise my dream to become peace agent and work hard to give the community all the talent i have.

They will consider you only if at least 3 year of sobriety...unless you lie and it is not discovered at polygraph you could be lucky!

A written personality test? I would have hoped that the psychological heath of cops would be better examined and monitored. Especially for a profession that seems to naturally appeal to sadists and psychopaths.

I have written the RPAT 3 times scoring 4.44, 4.45 and 4.55. I did everything possible to enhance candidacy. Eg. tried auxiliaries but told there was no funding, I found outside funding but was then told that there was no time, then I could'nt get a call returned. Someone I know was accepted into the auxiliaries, and ultimately as a reg member, because of a personal connection. While RPAT score may play a role belive me when I tell you that you are better off to be related to or knowing someone.
