Hey @JoshMadakor doing this lab for the first time, I saw the comments about this video being outdated and everything. I can't get my honeypot VM to connect to the LAW. I just get prompted with an unknown error message. If anyone knows the fix to this issue I'd really appreciate the help!
Just finished up the google cert and wondering if I'm ready to jump right into the security+ 701 exam of if ya'll recommend getting a bundle that comes with certmaster practice and/or learn + labs?
Can you do a review on Grand Canyon University
Essentially in a nut shell. If criminals or malicious people continue to exist. There is always going to be need for competent cybersecurity professionals.

another banger. thank you Josh
Hi Josh, are you still running the 10% off promo? Saw it on one of your previous videos but not sure if the code still works.
Do Toastmasters. You said "Like" hundreds of times in this video.
Cybersecurity is half IT and half risk management.
Work in other areas but not cyber security
why?
Cronyism
Do not give a crap about working for a company doing cybersecurity. I am not protecting their corruption.

Hey Josh, my job will pay for a masters in cybersecurity tech but I can't get any certs, do you think I'll still get job opportunities?
as someone who is half way through a cyber bachelors... thank you
darknet diaries yes, very good 'cept he's kinda a 'libtard' lol!
Cybersecurity Sales is also a thing. No degree required.

This was great and very informative. Thank you, Josh, for sharing
Howdy Josh! I plan on getting my Masters in Cybersecurity but was wondering if you think WGU will offer PhD levels in Cybersecurity or what PhD programs you like? Is a PhD even worth it? Itâll be awesome if you made a short video on this. Thanks in advance even if you donât see this.
Not worth it in IT. I have never seen a phd asked for in this field other than CIO. And still rare to see it there
currently getting my masters in Cybersecurity but I don't plan on doing my PhD because I don't think its worth it. you're better off spending that time just doing a job and getting the experience instead.
Hey Josh, thanks for another rad video. I've been watching your content for a while now and would like to try for a career in cybersecurity. I do have one question though: If one does not have ANY experience in tech whatsoever (me, currently a massage therapist), is it possible and probable to get a job in cybersecurity with the google cybersecurity cert and then taking your course/internship?
Cyber resiliency architecture is the way to go.
Guys , which field is better for someone who have good experience in python and splunk skills to become security engineer or security analyst
Hi Josh. It would be great if you & Unix Guy could make some cyber security video tutorials together. Unix Guy is a cyber security expert professional living in Australia. His CZcams channel: UnixGuy. Best wishes from Dublin, Ireland. đźđȘ
Hi Josh! How common is working a blue team cybersecurity job fully remotely? If anyone else reading this have experiences willing to share, please do.
From my understanding, entry level blue team (soc analyst 1) is possible to be fully remote but more than likely itâll either be hybrid or in person. Also if itâs youâre first cyber security job itâll be better the be in person so you can see IRL how these processes work and youâll gain a bigger picture much faster
Pretty common but itâs hard to get remote positions if youâre at Jr. level
@@acekurylenko6310 Thanks!

Hey Josh, the information you shared is very fruitful, but unfortunately in my current location: Lebanon, I'm not able to find any cybersecurity analyst internship or full time role, so I used all the Keywords I know, optimized my LinkedIn profile, nothing has worked so far. I'm seeking international relocation visa sponsored jobs/internships in the U.S., I guess this is impossible. I'm not legally authorized to work in the U.S./E.U., neither in the E.U., nor I hold American/Canadian/E.U. passport. Although I'm currently pursuing my BSc. CS, and graduate next year, I'm currently pursuing the Google Cybersecurity program, but all they ask for is experience. I check a role at Deloitte internship in Luxembourg, the HRs refuse to give a chance to candidates located outside the job location.
Do you need robotics experience to be in Automation ? Can you learn on the job ??
I was at first interested in Development lile every other student who sits besides you in college. But it was just too saturated for me. So I decided to change and learn IT and Security and your videos have been helping me a ton. Thanks a lot!
hey Josh i like your videos been watching your videos for a while am ready as am taking a GRC course and i want to combine with yours if you can let me know how long it can take if i do 3hrs each day if its ok to let me know as i know its a valuable course that you put together ,keep doing what you doing for the community..........i will recommend to all my people.
I have been applying for SOC Analyst Tier 1 positions for the past 2 years but have not received any interviews. Despite reaching the top 0.6% on TryHackMe, writing several technical write-ups, and having over 4 years of experience as an IT Manager/Specialist, the only feedback I've received is rejection letters. Any advice on how to stand out?
Would you be able to have a similar program for the IT course?
What about a computer science degree?
Fuck Linux.
Can you please make a python course.

True facts! I moved several times during my time at one company each time I was getting promoted, I had to leave to take care of my mother. They had me to choose, so I chose her! But, now that I'm trying to get back into tech, especially cyber. I am more willing than ever to relocate as where I live now is overpopulated and dangerous, I want a fresh start not just my mother and I, but also for my career.
Easy degrees are the reason so many millenials ended up working at Starbucks, well that combined with George W. Bush lol
I started my cyber security degree in Dec and am at WGU and I can tell you this is the most valuable degree we have in the IT industry.
Thanks!
Well that's just about the most arrogant thing I've seen today. Did he really say "Google is a big company and I am not so it's not fair"? ....just incredible. Will NOT be recommending this guy. Google's Cybersecurity program is awesome; I am in it myself. But if this dude was going to put up a video hawking his own overpriced program, why wasn't that in the title? So the REASON that Security + is one of the BEST industry certs for entry level Cybersecurity is because CompTIA has been around 20 years. Huge credibility...in fact, many companies won't give you an entry level CS job without one. Willing to bet you're not DoD 8570 approved, which is very difficult to do. Learn how to stow the entitlement until companies actually recommend your products.
Itâs not about needing coding, tech has a bunch of shit tests to weed people out and they use coding to prove your part of the âcultureâ

Name some domain
Core cybersecurity domains: 1. Network Security: Protecting networks with firewalls, IDS, and VPNs to block unauthorized access and malicious traffic. 2. Application Security: Ensuring software security through secure coding (e.g., SQL injection prevention), vulnerability assessment, and penetration testing. 3. Cloud Security: Securing cloud data and services with encryption, access controls, and regular audits. 4. Endpoint Security: Safeguarding devices (computers, smartphones) with antivirus software, EDR tools, and MDM solutions against malware and unauthorized access. 5. Information Security: Protecting sensitive data through encryption, access controls, and data integrity measures. 6. Identity and Access Management (IAM): Controlling access securely with SSO, MFA, and privilege management. 7. Security Operations Center (SOC): Monitoring and responding to incidents in real-time with SIEM systems, threat detection, and incident response protocols. Other cybersecurity domains: âą Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC): Establishing security policies and ensuring regulatory compliance. âą Cybersecurity Awareness and Training: Educating users about threats and best practices. âą Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BCDR): Maintaining operations during and after cyber incidents. âą Risk Management: Assessing and mitigating organizational risks. âą Digital Forensics: Investigating cyber incidents for evidence. âą DevSecOps: Integrating security into the software development lifecycle. These domains work together to build robust cybersecurity defenses, ensuring we stay resilient against new and evolving threats.
Hey Josh, or anyone. I need advice. I have a bachelor degree in education. Since I already have a degree. In my case, would it be better to just get certifications? Currently working on my CompTIA A+ cert.
I needed that chart. Thanks.
right on
This is a great video. Thank you. Especially the resume part. I struggle with this
if anybody is struggling with their Remote Desktop Connection opening to a black screen and then disconnecting, the only solution that worked for me was restarting the VM from azure.
I finally started studying for core1 of the A+ - i always knew i was stupid but damn, this shit made me realise how stupid i actually am
The work itself isnât stressful, dealing with the people who donât want to deal with it is stressful.
