Katarina is the worst character in the current build. Her lows are still combo video punished or unrewarding, HAR can still be SSR’d (new move floated for a combo punish), and her mix-ups are too risky. HAR is still only useful as combo filler/ender. All she can do is fish for CH, but one might as well play Shaheen. Even with his S4 nerfs, he has better keepout, more rewarding and safer mix-ups (including FC 50/50), better lows, better wall carry, and is just as good at CH fishing. The only reasons to not use Shaheen over Kat are that Katarina is nice to look at and if one cannot do the Slide (and are too lazy to practice).

Season 3 kat is more like b1 har to cancel crouch mix up season 4 new move I would say just ok. The mixup game becomes har 1,4, df3 still high risk high reward. I'm feeling the stomp 3+4 since its -12 I'd do the other wall combo with the mixup well over all its just an honest standard A-B Tier character

😭 I don't understand why do they create a character and just leave it away. I've seen ppl saying she's a bit better, but coming from where she was left it doesn't mean a real improvement. I didn't try her yet, but I hope they give her a little more space to grow

Ur speaking as a Kat main. No df1 which has a follow should be minus 1. They’re all -3 now including Leroy’s. Ff2,4 used to do 70+ with no execution which was a bit too much.

Great insight, Vitolic. I agree that this patch is one in the right direction. I like a lot of the proposed changes you listed. HAR 3 being un/semiseeable but not knocking down would be great at all levels of play. FF2,4 also deserves a much better launch given how technical it is to use optimally. I don't think you're ever getting that hopkick range back, though. Huge hopkick range was a prime reason low level players hated her so much. I could see why you want your old df1 and magic 4, since those going back to s2 status wouldn't affect noobs, but that's not the case for hopkick. Think from a low level perspective here- giant hopkick + multiple hits + easy input combo = space control without much effort. Low level players are gonna be doing far more hopkicks on prediction in neutral than they would on reaction. That range nerf made her worse at all levels of play, but it's clear that the devs want to appease the casuals here, and that nerf def did the job. Hopefully in the future they'll change her to be worse at low level without dragging y'all competitive players down, like what you described with your suggested HAR 3 change.
