N-body simulation using Python and GPU compute shaders

Simulation of the gravitational interaction between 40,000 stars. About 31 FPS on an nVidia 980Ti. This is a lot smoother in person. The video compression does not play well with this type of video. Code: github.com/pvcraven/n-body

You're an angel<3<3
Rip Keyboard 13.05.2021
Ha, still use it.
thanyouu so much!!!!
thx my boy
I hate the extrude bug thingy, thanks
n e a t !
hey Im unable to download even though i did perfectly what you said in step 1 installation video when i try to cmd it says like note: This error originates from a subprocess and is likely not a problem with pip. ERROR: Failed building wheel for pymunk Failed to build pillow pymunk ERROR: Could not build wheels for pillow, pymunk, which is required to install pyproject.toml-based projects could you help me please professor
THANK YOU
my E key does not work in blender. Nothing happens
What has that keyboard done to offend you?
Don't worry, we're still together.
I feel this guy never heard of keyboard shortcuts. You know... good old cntrl+z...
Thank you very much for this. I thought I was going to have to start my model over. You are too kind 🙇♀ 🙇♀ 🙇♀
Thank you a lot. Why does Blender's interface has to be so convoluted? Literally everwhere an esc button means cancellation, but not in fucking blender.
This is very useful information. Another problem I ran into was having the Snap tool turned on, which makes extrusions act weird, especially in perspective view
BRO U LEARN MORE THAN U TEACH ME....
thanks, really helpful.
Yess! This is what I need, I want full control over which vertex is assigned to which bone. No painting area's just cold hard assignment.
jfc man im about to call keyboard protective services on you lol
Thanks for the tutorial, but please treat your keyboard switches with more love o.o
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
I went to college with the original author, Alan Wilhelm at IUSB in South Bend, IN. We grew up a mile apart in La Porte, IN and played in the chess club together in high school. He wrote a lot of small games like this on the mainframe there (CDC 6600 I recall) after we both took a intro to computing class our senior year of high school and got exposed to computers and programming in Basic including trips to Notre Dame and meeting a grad student who showed us around and taught us how to "chat" through the mainframe! It was an amazing time in computing. They had the mainframe manuals just setting on the tables at IUSB to be able to scan through, so Alan went through it and came up with a way to test for passwords so that he could use a high level password (like a professors) to get the necessary memory core to run a Monopoly game he had written! It was cat and mouse, as after a bit, an operator would see the high core usage and shut you down! He eventually just bought a tape down at the main campus to put all his games on and would enter the request to have someone in the data center there mount it so he could reload his games! They had no clue what was on the tape! We were pretty stoked when seeing I think a total of 3 of his games in the Basic Games and More Basic Games that Creative Computing put out back then. Wish I could recall the other names of the other games. It was a bit sad he (and other authors who's games were there) didn't get credited as back then that kind of thing just got passed around and I don't recall him using any REM lines in the Basic to put his name in as author. I created a much simpler dungeon game called Mines of Moria then which was my only foray into game creation. After a first year taking 2nd year Fortran my first semester, and 3rd year Assembly Language my second semester, I dropped, and a year later was a store manager for Radio Shack during the peak of the TRS-80 explosion after the store manager saw me write some quick Basic on one and had it looping text on the screen and asked if I was looking for work and I interviewed and was hired as an asst. manager. Two years later, I was managing one of their stores that had the Computer Center within, with things like the Model II and it's larger disks. I still have a very nice letter the company forwarded to me that a customer of mine wrote to Lewis Kornfeld complaining about a program called "Cassette Payroll" for the TRS-80 Model I which was problematic in its instructions, but complimented me for my knowledge and help saying he drove by two stores to come to mine in the next town! I got a lot of mileage out of the letter over the years, later being in charge of all PC support at Kwajalein Missile Range from '90-95 for JCWS on the Logistics contract they had there where I hired their first PC trainer and built a networked classroom, as well as their first network administrator for what was their fledgling network. Great memories!
bless you heart man, i was turning my head why was the extruding tool only selecting one vertex when i selected multiple
good video bro:)
🗿❤
Thank you. You are saved my mental health.
Why is face attributes not checked by default?
Thank you!!! You are a life saver. I didn't know what I was doing or how to fix it, turns out I had over 2000 extra verticies...
Man this is such a brilliant way of explaining the arc function, thank you so much for putting this together, Kudos!!
You saved my day bruh, thanks
Not gonna lie, NORMAL and common basic extrusions in Blender are absolute trash.
when i use convert it says "pygame.error: No video mode has been set" i need help
i swear man you the real OG, I have watched many videos of todays you tubers which had hundreds of thousands of subscribers but still was confused, but can't believe a 10yrs old video can make it so easy. OG always will be OG
Great tutorial, but how can I add banking to the camera?
Anybody Refrencing this Video coding for Pololu32U4 Robots on Arduino just know that the TurnSensor cpp and h Requires you to go to the Arduino Library manager and downloading the L3G by Pololu(3.0.0 as of this post) then you have to type into the cpp and h file the following: #include <L3G.h> Trust Me It will save you a lot of time from the errors (Saying this from experience took me 2hrs to figure this out)
Code plz
i want my object to follow curve but in end I want that object should come to ist original position , is it possible ?
Code please
Two years later and my ass is saved. Thank you so much.
But after how can I bake to keyframes the action of the object? Please help.
Plz tell me how the all option we can get after split window like wire frame transparent and all side options
This was a great video. I used it with my clas today. Thank you.
Wouldn't using Pyinstaller be much easier?
Mate, is the possible in the other direction? can you connect a bone to a vertex?
Thank you so much. Merge by distance is helpful in many more situations than just extra extrudes. I was having massive issues with a project and this would have saved so much time. Youre the man
helped a lot thank you
And I went into vertex paint. . . .Painted. . . .Nothing. . . rig isn't moving. In either edit mode or paint. can't "assign". Thanks if you have time to answer.
smashing keyboard button is god damn annoying
Thank you for the video! Didn't know that the vertices would doubles even if you cancel the extrude.
