I've been keeping watch on many of the videos to see if there is an indication of the progression of their morale. The points where I think show the absolute hopelessness of the ru soldiers was when they started demilitarizing themselves when they weren't injured or trapped in a hopeless situation by a drone. When they started removing themselves from the battle when they simple HEARD A DRONE is when I recently realized they know their situation is completely hopeless. They know their "leaders" will never willingly end the war and that the consequences of refusing to fight are worse for themselves and their families than if they end themselves on the battlefield.
