The statement her daughter made (noted in the beginning of this video) regarding there being lots of water sources available to her seems a bit suspicious considering there is no clarity around how she got water. No one hikes with enough water to last 12 days when they are on a day hike.

I think his friends and other people that knew he was out there waited too long to check on his condition or whereabouts before sounding an alarm. When he didn't appear after the 10 days like his one friend indicated that's when people should've started looking for him.
