I copied this video from 'Keith Smith-aka-Scott Summers' channel because it is such a great mix. Here is the description of the video from his channel. "One of my "DV8" DJ nights in Mannequins at Pleasure Island Walt Disney World in 1996. Thursday's were Cast Member nights and we "Deviated" from the normal music genre with some classic alternative/80's early evening. The recording is from a liv...

Mike Breen..
I spent big chunks of my summer growing up at this hotel (my mom liked to gamble A LOT) and it was pure magic in the early 90s. The resort was so well maintained and the vibe was terrific. The pool was my favorite hotel pool of any I have ever been to. I wish I could travel back in time and relive those afternoons at the pool drinking virgin pina coladas or waking up early and sitting at the bar in the coffee shop ordering a grown up breakfast all by myself. It was honestly the best. RIP Mirage.
Essentially, over the time, they dethemed and cheapened the place. Legitly, in 1991, Excalibur looked much better than today.
The Strip was at its peak in the 90's.
This is the most amazing video every. My maniquines story's and awesome. The PI dancers were special people. The best level of dancers. Thanks
Rip mirage
"The good old days"
Bless your heart for posting this. What a trip down memory lane.
Great music. Feel like sipping something and chilling.
Man Vegas is a ripoff now compared to what they use to offer. This literally had every form of entertainment in the most over the top way.
The 25th Anniversary of The 1998-99 New York Knicks. It was truly a season for the ages. The Only 8th Seed To Ever Make The NBA Finals.
This takes me back. The first thing I would do when I got to my room was watch the in-house video. Would you have one on the MGM? Thank you for sharing.
No, we never stayed at that venue.
"TNG" felt like something on MSG. The Borg had them MSG vibes son. WWOR in NY.
WWOR, home of the Knicks, my guy. Before, during and post-UPN (which I'm reviving, and creating WB too). Fuck The WB.
Talk about the most beastin team in the City along with the Yanks, WWOR both aired their games.
The 25th Anniversary of The Only 8 Seed To Ever Win The Eastern Conference And Make It To The NBA Finals, Your Strike Shortened 1998-'99 New York Knicks! 🧡💙❤
So cool that this is actually available to view on CZcams. I visited the Mirage numerous times from 1992 - 2000. This brings me right back to the moving walkway next to the white tiger habitat where the audio from this video played overhead. I was sad to hear that this once icon of a resort is now a mirage. 🙁
Oh wow. Do you happen to have the Circus Circus video??
Nope
Round Table Buffet was exc 👌🏿👍🏿💖💗! 4:24
I was an opening day employee and spent 13 wonderful years there. It was the best job ever at the most glorious time ever.
I bet, what a fun experience you must have had.
I was the director of advertising and PR for Excalibur from October of 1989 until December of 1992. What a joy ride. A ton of work, too.
Bryant Gumbel won an emmy award as the best sportscaster in the 1970s before his arrival on the Today Show he was best known for hosting NFL pregame along with the Super Bowl the World Series and the NCAA Basketball tournament!
Great ending every Friday on the Today Show by composer Ray Ellis in those early years also great work by Bryant and Jane they were a talented team every weekday morning!
GOOD DAYS OF LAS VEGAS ...
Man, I was born in 1992 after all this. Have the Medieval Times show, mix it well with the Irwindale Renaissance Faire, then Las Vegas in the bag and you have this. The Excalibur in and outside in this video is beautiful. Medieval games, a 4D theater, Medieval fantasy goodies and shows not just the Tournament, heck look at the fire-breathing dragon at 5:20-5:23! If only Las Vegas today did not get a de-theming treatment. When I was little going there I saw a statue of Merlin the Wizard at the Castle. I wish I was at the Excalibur as an adult in the early 90's
Very cool with Steve Wynn narration
They still have the same carpeting in 2023!
5:22 the mirage cursive logo is also Steve Wynn’s handwriting, the same used for the Wynn and Encore logos.
Wow, this makes the current Excalibur look like a low-effort dump.
John John, one of the original bartenders on opening day in 1990, still tends the Lobby Bar and is the best damn bartender in town. The place may be a dump, but it still has its charms.
Sounds like Wynn himself is narrating?
Yes it is.
It's impossible to understate how revolutionary and groundbreaking the Mirage was in the first few years it was open. A lot the amenities we take for granted now as standard for Vegas hotels and resorts, they started the trend.
Like what, a hair dryer?
Yes.. from 1990-1997 The Mirage was the Best hotel on the strip. The Desert Inn and Ceasars Palace were second and third..
Morning shows were so much more laid back then. Now it's all about blasting music and stupid tourists waiting outside the studio.
Such a beautiful hotel. Leave it to the Hard Rock Hotel owners to destroy everything great about this property.
They haven’t done anything yet. I got a feeling it’s not gonna happen if a recession hits.
Ikr
Bad ass!!
4:26 "its there in your room... somewhere" lol that inspires confidence
I know I left it SOMEWHERE in here, damnit
MGM turned Excalibur into a dirty dump. Recent reports of bedbugs highlight how badly they've neglected this hotel.
Awesome
this is ducked up on so many levels it's not even funny anymore. still, a nice 90s throwback.
i used to be one of them glory days
Man I would LOVE to see the one from the late 90s and early 2000s
Thanks for uploading this, man I wish I was old enough to visit vegas in the 90s during the highlight times.
33:45 I wish I were there
Vaya concierto.
Nice video of mannequins. Disney's Springs is nothing compare to Downtown Disney. Back in the days. I sure miss pleasure Island. The good old days of the early 90s
What ever happened to Cliff Morrison?
That's Judy Woodruff at the top. At first i thought it was Jessica Savitch.
Judy was the chief Washington correspondent for Today in 1982-83, conducting much of the DC-based interviews. She left for PBS in mid-‘83, and Bryant and Jane began handling the newsmaker interviews themselves thereafter.
There was a time when that 4 corners of Tropicana ave was the hottest part of the strip
