Well done video sir! We have one of these up in the Klamath County Logging Museum that’s near Chiloquin, OR (about 30 minutes north of Klamath Falls, OR in south central Oregon off of Hwy 97) yours however, is in excellent shape, just incredible!

I would highly recommend NOT running Antifreeze in these engines they have an "evaporator not a radiator". And the if you know the difference between the two you will understand, and because antifreeze has a higher boiling point then just straight water it in fact will cause the engine to over heat since it cools it self by boiling water off as steam. I world love to come see it! I love in North idaho and we did have mills very much like this at one point in time. Some carried the old buildings through to about 20 years ago, but were modernized on the inside. I've got many old old pictures of miles that were setup just as this on still is! I'd say this is probably the only surviving original example of a pre 1960s sawmill

You know there are songs they used to sing when they drove those spikes. Wasn't just one guy driving, it was several at a time and they sang special songs and kept in sync.

That was a fun weekend. A ton of work went into making it happen and it was all worth it. I’m very much looking forward to the next big event at Long Leaf and the next RR&G Work Session.

Do you have any information on how these things were shipped from Duluth? I would imagine they were too tall to ship fully assembled and placed on a railroad flatcar, and it would be interesting to know how much assembly was required after delivery to the buyer!
