The river Thames at Pangbourne has burst its banks flooding the Swan Pub and surrounding fields. At Theale the river Kennet had also burst, flooding roads and properties. January 2024.

Quite a moody video, very low clouds over the castle with the cathedral higher in the clear, quite a contrast. Beautiful town in West Sussex.

Once home to John Lennon & Yoko Ono then Ringo Starr. Lennon recorded a great deal of his 1971 album “Imagine” here. Great to see the gardens as most know the house but the gardens are rarely shown.

Kate Bush lived here, just outside Theale in West Berkshire. It was for all purpose an island on the Kennet. A couple of water turbines presumably powering the estate and recording studio ?

For a working-class Liverpool lad to go from a one-up/one-down tenement with no indoor bathroom to this splendorous castle shows that anything is possible in life so long as you have that special mix of drive and talent!

Hi, I believe so, it’s all on the same island and behind the one gate. I did check the main gate and it looks like just one address.

That's the Melbourne tram be bought in Australia in the early 80s after a week long coke bender and had it shipped to Woodside, the good old days.

@@UKDroneFootage-db5dk from about 20 seconds or so in, to the right of the tennis courts.. he woke up in the morning and his manager called him to tell him what he had done and it was being shipped as they spoke to England.. it had to be installed by chinook helicopters! hahahahahaha can you imagine waking up to that phone call.
Ironic to have such terrible music playing over this video. Also, this is fuckin weird. To just be flying drone cameras over high profile peoples homes and uploading it to the internet.

Hopefully his spirit still wanders the house and it's magnificent grounds... sorely missed...as the years go by his prominence and songwriting abilities get stronger and stronger....not just a Beatle now he's e transcended into just being... George...RIP..!!!!

When I visited England, Wales and Ireland, it was long before the Internet and videos like this. As a botanist, I had no idea that there were so many shades of green. I didn’t visit Scotland and have been told I missed the most beautiful part of GB. If that is true, Scotland must be heaven on earth.
Can’t imagine the monthly heating and maintenance bill on that one.
the misery of the human head. how to look for a thousand problems. Why this castle? For a couple to live in? Total madness... I can only imagine the amount of trouble that goes into maintaining this white elephant of stones!!! This George Harrison was unbalanced...well...there were drugs...heroin...LSD...cocaine...alcohol...marijuana etc that had a lot of effect

This is incredible! I’ve been researching Tittenhurst for a few years now, and have become quite knowledgeable on the history of the estate up to present day but to actually be able to see it live is really something that adds a new dimension to getting to know about Tittenhurst! Thanks for this! The Friar Park footage is great as well! For those interested, these are the changes made to Tittenhurst since Ringo left: - the house was painted cream - the west wing of the main house (including the studio) was demolished and replaced with a new two-storey wing - the swimming pool was filled in and reconstructed with a bomb-proof glass roof to cover it - this video shows it having more restoration in Nov 2023 - the Tudor cottage was demolished and replaced with an exact replica - the lake was expanded and a summer house-villa was added - a lake garden was added to the south west of the prophet and more recently a helipad added - various roads added to the whole estate to ease travel - the temple (where the ‘Hey Jude’ album cover was taken) originally had an empty chamber below its ground level, which was converted into guest quarters

The Gardens and Lakes have all been massively Changed by the current owner, if its the same owner as it was in the early 90's he spent more than 5 times the amount he paid for it Originally on making it his. He flew in Marble specialist from Italy to lay Marble Floors, through out when I worked there in 92 he had Kept the White Room as it was in the Video's Imagine and Woman.
wonder if lennons summer house is still by the pool the one which he and ono played chess in the imagine film from 1971

I like all the different trees and lots of gardens. If George hadn’t preserved the house it may have fallen into ruin. Who would have thought a boy from Liverpool would end up with this?
