I wpuld love a video like this about getting shadowheart to spare her parents. I did eveything i saw online to get her to spare them and it didnt work

So I played a very stereotypical lawful good paladin, and ended up romancing Shadowheart. One funny thing though, is that, due to my irl lack of knowledge about the church of Shar, I just kinda took her word for it about how her faith in Shar makes her feel better and might be a noble thing. I was supportive with her doing her Shar thing all the way until we encounterred the Nightsong and then I was like, "I don't think this is the move." Passed the DC 21 persuasion check with a righteous nat 20 (I actually shouted irl at that lol). Will definitely take this video into encounter for future playthroughs, thanks for explaining all this!

There is a way to give Shadowheart the Noblestalk whilst also keeping it to give it to the merchant, you talk to her and have another character send it to camp from your inventory I think, was this patched out?

So did I get this right, since I'm already past the Owlbear cave and used the persuasion option there I'm now bugged and have no way of reaching the 4 wound points anymore?

Maybe this is how it was intended to work, but I honestly don't think it works like this at all, unless it's bugged. Every single time I play a new file, I do get the wolf scene, but have never gotten the selunite necklace option, the hand wound dialogue bugs every time, I have never had her eat the noblestalk, never given her the blessing from (aylin? Or her girlfriend) until my last playthrough, and really the only thing I do is let her give her blood in the trial, other than that I just have high approval, and every time I let her choose she spares the nightsong. I've done 5 playthroughs now, and this is always the outcome.

When Shadowheart spared Nightsong I burst out laughing because of how inconsistent that was. That was a major letdown. Tbh, I have never had a high opinion of the writing in this game.

Welp looks like I got the bugged wound on my second (current) run. No worries since I've been trying to hit some strange edge cases with the scripts for fun anyway.

I tried a all martial class honor mode run for my first run on that mode i got absolutely slamed by big drunk throm when i realized that hes basically imune to all physical damage

don't know if this will help anyone but I just killed grym in my honor by having gale cast minor ilusion from above to have grym walk into lava and then back on the hammer and back into lava and back on the- you get it, also I used a bow to activate both lava and hammer lever

Another fun tactic on the Act 1 spectator fight - have the zombie boulette leap from the top of the Selunite Outpost onto him 😂

Your presented approach appears to be extremely effective for game QA imo, lol (Larian Studios could definitely “borrow” some of your methods 👀). I thoroughly enjoyed your video and would absolutely love to have some of the other BG3 characters covered in a similar way. :>

I made Shadowheart raise connor for Mayrina and let Mayrina keep the wand and got a wound flare as well

Ah so this is what was happening! At some point it became a personal challenge to always let Shadowheart make The Choice, since it indicated how good a friend I was to her. I wonder if being a Selunite has special interactions? Maybe I'll get to that by my 20th play...

when it comes to getting the silver sword can you just leave lazel at camp?

I had to click just for the thumbnail of Shadowheart calculating how badly guiding bolt will miss.

It's funny that I did all this without knowing these details. The incredible thing about this game is all the possibilities it gives you.

What about the wolf fear journal flag? I heard that if you don't discover her fear of wolves, nightsong won't mention it during their encounter and it'll make convincing Shadowheart to spare her more difficult if not impossible. Ever since hearing that, on every run I make sure she get's scared of silver or the zhentharim wolves to get that flag.

Wow, interesting. First playthrough I let her make her own choice with nightsong, and she spared her. I thought it was because of my choices. Then I started thinking her changing her mind was the default and the choices didn't actually matter. Seems I was wrong

On all my run through except my Durge I must have triggered this 😂. I’ve alway just let her decide and she throws the spear away.

This is really niche, but if you happen to be playing as an oathbreaker paladin (or have one in your party), you can use Control Undead on Malus. It's a bit tricky to land, because the spell's range is only 6m and that is close enough to trigger his cutscene. You can avoid this by targeting him from the platform that is behind him. It gets you about 5.5m from him, without triggering the cutscene. Nothing happens if he saves the spell, but be warned if you land it, the sisters will attack you. He is apparently prone to being a little buggy when it comes to navigating around the map, and his damage is not very impressive, but he is still a 358HP tank that can come in handy to distract enemies, or just slowly kill them. Could be a useful asset for clearing out the rest of the shadow cursed lands

I am so confused. I cant say for sure that did not collected the 4 nightsong points accidentally but it would surprise me if I did that. in the conversation I was like „yeah do whatever you want“ because I had no idea what to do and I wanted my character to just be supportive and respectful of her decision and I was so baffled when she didnt kill the nightsong because she seemed to be really set to kill her but then she just did not do it😮

I'm so sad to discover this channel so late, but so happy to discover it at all!! God the amount of "tips" for Bg3 that just say basic shit drove me crazy. You're teaching me stuff I genuinely didn't know, and useful stuff! Thank you!

This is interesting. I was under strong impression that SH would always spare Nightsong if you do not intervene and let her decide. It kind of ruined my first playthrough, since it appeared like that was the default choice even if you support her faith in Shar. I am curious to see if I can get an outcome where she will kill Nightsong without me pushing her to.

The convo where she expresses doubts has been triggering for me after talking with Isobel at Last Light Inn. Also, you only need at least 40 approval for her to spare the Nightsong if you trust her and let her decide on her own.

In my first and second playthrough I always chose the „let her decide“ option and she always spared nightsong.

You can also pick up a Selunite necklace in the Blight Village for an advantage on the Religion check of the wolfdream conversation, Shadowheart will remark on it if you pick up.

Hot dammed didn’t realize the whole thing was this complicated. I managed to get her to spare nightsong by simply trusting her but didn’t realize all the hoops I’ve already jumped through to get to that point. Though I suppose if you’re trying to romance her or get high approval with her it just sort of come naturally
