This is completely wrong. You should not hold the chicken tightly and do not make an instinctive movement. All animals and of course birds repeat the same movement continuously when eating involuntarily, but you hold the poor animal tightly just because a drop of food does not fall to the ground.

My babies are on Day 23 today and over the past couple days they haven’t been wanting to eat as much. They were taking 10cc every feeding and getting big fat crops. Now they’re taking maybe 5-7cc and crops aren’t getting fat. Is this normal? They are starting to peck around at stuff on the bottom of their brooder. I had to take a shred of paper from one last night

My female cockatiel flew away and today and left her 2 week old chicks behind. The male hasn’t fed them so we bought the materials seen in the video. We managed to feed them thanks to your video. I hope I can keep them fed and happy. Thank you so much

I'm starting to question my ability to raise a cockatiel, my man here is feeding a single cockatiel two full syringes while I only feed mine half a syringe each lunch because I worry that I might over feed him, my cockatiel is about 30-40 days old. I think he's sick, he is very calm. He doesn't react to food. He doesn't open his mouth to be fed, and whenever I feel the bulge in his crop getting bigger, I stop feeding him for the session, please someone help :(

Found a nestling yesterday, trying to feed him. I learned a lot in your video. My biggest mistake was not to heat the food before. Hope my buddy make it anyway. Secondary the understanding about the food storage, so i can literally see when my bird is full. Thanks a lot dude!

So glad that handfeeding is forbidden in the Netherlands. They need their parents for normal development.
