How deep was that vacuum?
Great job, bro.
Keep doing your thing!
Thank you.
Thank you for this video. My system was showing low superheat so I took out some refrigerant out and after that the unit's pressures (low & high side) started surging up & down. Guess I will have to recover whatever is in there, pressure test the system, pull a vacuum, then add some new refrigerant. I'm a new tech gathering all the service tools. Which recovery machine do you recommend?
The new field piece and navac ones are really nice . The one is most commonly see in the field is the Appion G5 Twin . If you’re going to invest one , make sure it uses a DC brushless motor as well as your vacuum pump . Reason for this is the new line of refrigerants coming next year to replace r410a are classified as flammable and the manufacturers only want brushless motors used so there is no chance for spark ignition ( even though a spark wouldn’t ignite them anyway , it’s a safety precaution )

@@lammaking333 Ok, thanks. Appreciate your advice.
I literally just ran into sum like this the other day think man for confirming my diagnostics
Cool
Some knipex cobras and pliers wrench might save you some space… or take up more space
I’m struggling with an rtwd chiller been working very well but now it’s tripping on low refrigerant temperature. Possibly low on charge what do you think when you see those alRms
Could be a few different things but immediate thought would be low on charge. Check all connections including threaded connections for sensors and transducers , king valves , etc with soap bubbles . Many leaks common from those areas on all Trane chillers. Pull all panels and inspect coils for oil stains . It’s possible could be a metering device problem but not likely - usually you’d get a low suction super heat alarm. After checking with bubbles , pull the water strainer and verify if it’s clean or dirty . Final step to actually know for sure if it’s low charge would be recover the charge and weigh the charge and compare to data tag. If for example your charge weight is 120 lbs and you only recover 70 lbs this for sure would be your tell tale sign. Hope this helps
How long did it take for you to get your SB-LD?
It’s been awhile but off the top of my head I think it was anywhere from 2-4 weeks
End this peace must come.
Can a 16" laptop fit in the front pouch and be secured with the 2 straps?
Thanks man!
Thanks for watching
Thanks for the video, how often should someone change the oil of the pump?
Most pump's recommend after every use, which I assume would be every couple of days worth of use. A used oil would not allow the pump to pull-down vacuum to full spec. So a pump that can do 25 microns, would top out at 100 or 200 microns with used oil. So you can close off all the vacuum ports, and just have a gauge attached, and see if you can get the spec to check oil condition. Basically the oil is hydroscopic, and absorbs moisture and other stuff that degrades it's performance. Also this Fieldpiece pump has two reservoirs, and allows an oil change without breaking vacuum.
Appreciate it bro!
Nice actually has tools that are realistic
Nice video you did, just wondering what’s better Klein or veto bags? I work in the trades and carry a heavy bag and wondering what will last longer and have a good zipper and storage for my tools.
The Klein backpack I had years ago was a good bag , but when you unzipped it , it would not stand up right and would tip over , which was very annoying . I will say this from experience , Veto bags are higher quality and more catered to and have more thought put into the pouch placement and overall design and are more Durable and have a five year warranty. That being said , if you’re trying to save money the Klein bag is still a fantastic bag for the price , and last I checked , the Klein backpack had a lifetime warranty through Home Depot. Meaning you could just bring your old torn up bag in and walk out with a new one same day. I’m not sure if that’s still their policy , but you can’t go wrong with either.
Ok thanks for letting me know your experience ,I live in Canada, the veto bag is over 550 with tax and shipping the Klein is 275 plus tax and shipping,
Awesome video man. Best real world application of your bag/tools I’ve seen
Thanks for watching
Great video! Fixing isolating valves on the system will definitely help in the future in a large system.
It really should be some type of mechanical code to install them on large split systems over a certain tonnage/btu.
Just a question when ubreplace the refrigerant R422 is there any other adjustment u havevto make?
Not for r22. If you have an r22 txv or piston , no adjustment is needed. Evacuate system , replace drier , weigh in charge as liquid close to but a little under the original charge weight , then throttle in remaining charge through suction until superheat / subcooling values are in range depending on your metering device .
It's only that easy when you are using the setup you are using (MQ converting with p/t programmed in). If you are using simple manifold gauges, you need to convert pressure values to temperatures using the pressure temperature chart for R422b (Nu22b). It is not exactly the same like many think it is. www.freon.com/en/-/media/files/freon/freon-mo99-nu22b-retrofit-guidelines.pdf?rev=cb47ceae0ca247879c21e65941aa1546 pgs 13-17 Thanks for the video. Great diagnosis and info.
Thanks A lot enjoyed watching this video.found ur cannel accidently

Thanks for thus great tip to keep the chilled water pump running when on recovery mode,I know that this has to be done when breaking a vaccum.
Yessir , recovery and charging should only been done with verified water flow on chilled water systems to prevent potential freezing issues in the tubes or heat exchanger
Can these be installed on a heat pump system? I like to use my air conditioning when it’s cold outside but my system is a heat pump so I still need the heat for the rest of the family when they’re home.
Yes they can be used on a heat pump system , however it will require the addition al installation of some type of relay such as a SPDT ( single pole double throw ) with the coil wired to “O” , this will allow it bypass control in heating mode, depending on if your unit energizes reversing valve in heat or cool. You don’t actually want the fan cycle switch to be active when running in heat mode as it is likely to cause a freeze up at the outdoor coil due to low airflow when in heating mode.
If that was a semi I’d say oil looks like 10+ years old/or dirty system/or running hot. Pre normal for a screw chiller tho considering compression ratios, you’ll get that darker tint on the POE pre quick from the elevated DLT
good stuff! nice to see good no-nonsense tools that get actual use instead of the usual whole knipex & wera line-up that obviously never seen a service minute in their lifespan.
No point in overpaying for hand tools that will preform in a similar manner than a cheaper version and that are likely to get beat up from use anyway. Save your money for the high quality tools you actually need or power tools.
Very nice video.
Thanks for watching
Thank you for this!!!!
Did you send the oil in for analysis by any chance
No sir we did not . But we came back a month or two after this call for all the chillers on this school district and submitted oil analysis as part of the annual pm
@lammaking333 nicely done...oil analysis is a big key to spot a potential major issue
Nice work 👍
Great Job! Thank you for the key info. As well by as sequence of the process.

Hi what is the app that you used. Thanks
Hi thanks for watching. That is the measurequick app. There is a free and paid version . It is compatible with different brands of Bluetooth testing equipment
Can you tell me what’s the red light means
It means that the gas ballast is open
Would you have to recover the charge to replace the oil heater located at the oil separator.
No it sits in a well just like on the compressor
Woo hoo I’m gonna get one as well they are just too awesome not to get
Still using . It now serves as my Bluetooth testing set. It fits both my fieldpiece and test probes as well as 3 stubby ball valve hoses , with room for service wrench , spare shrader caps and core removal tools
clean your shaft HUH
🤔
Is that where you add too?
They will always be referred to as dikes in our trade no one can convince me otherwise
Im working on one today in mesquite

@dfwhvac Keep at it man! All of my coworkers and fellow tradesmen just drink beer and get progressively fatter every day. Glad to see someone else out there is on this grind!
whats the box that holds your electrical connectors?
It’s husky brand from Home Depot , you can find it in the tool bag isle. It’s pretty light weight but extremely durable and secures very well and is water proof. Only costs $10-15. It’s held up very well , I would definitely recommend it
The silver puncture under the cap can stay on line the hole up to your oil fill then push down the plastic will puncture the foil so you don't have to pour it in
Awesome tip man ! Never tried that but that makes sense ! Great comment .
Great video man! Thanks now I feel alone more confident cleaning the oil filter.
Great to hear man and glad I can help ! They’re intimidating at first but if you have someone show you how to do it it’s not as hard as you’d think ! That’s why I make these videos
Do you guys charge the same when working one handed and making videos? I get that churches get a discount, we always gave one, and they are often sales tax exempt, but if we would have worked one handed on electrical systems we'd be in trouble. If there was an issue, even years down the road, an insurance company could/would hammer you.
This comment is wild man haha. I never work one handed on anything that would ever pose a risk or legitimately require two hands to work with. I’m 100 percent confident in my skills and never do any work or leave equipment in a state that something detrimental might happen . If equipment poses an actual risk it gets locked out and tagged out. You’ve never checked voltage with one hand with two meter leads ? I appreciate the comment but the insurance thing is king of far out there man haha
nice job
Diacore filter
Do in-depth with a 200 ton system.
Brother you should show how to store gas and how to release gas before we removed filter drier and which way to best for gas charge in chiller pressure Guage or kg limit
Next time I run into that scope of work I will definitely make that video !
Awesome work. Good job. Please keep it coming.
