Thank you dear Oldies Archive for this colorized upload of our dear Pat Boone, one of the very best singers of the 1950's, all over the world. His soothing voice and the lyrics he chose for his songs held audiences enthralled. . His numbers like Spring Rain, With the wind and the rain in your hair, Love letters in the sand, Friendly Persuasion, Speedy Conzalves and on and on had listeners swooning. There were quite a few broken hearts and, Pat, with his cool voice helped many warring couples reconcile. Pat will always be there high up in the hierarchy with other great luminaries of the world: Andy Williams, Connie Francis, Paul Anka and Matt Munro. He was one of the most handsome and decent singers of the 50's.

I can't believe this was 10 years after World War II. It's lovely.

The smokey atmosphere is beautifully captured in this colorized version of Dixieland Rock. Colorization is first rate, because the song sequence was selected from a pristine copy of the film Loving You. It's total pleasure to watch a song or film colorized when the resolution of images has definition and clarity. Once again, I request you to colorize the "R-O-C-K' number from Rock around the clock with Lisa Gaye and Earl Barton displaying their exquisite style of jive. Thanks!

Guy Mitchell may have appeared in a few films like Red Garters, but he is most memorable as a man who tried to fake his own death in the Perry Mason classic: The case of the guilty clients [1961] which guest-starred Lisa Gaye and Faith Domergue. Mitchell's character is smitten with the lovely, Gaye, who doesn't return the favor. Instead, he winds up dead by three bullets, one of which is fired by Lisa Gaye's character. Did she really kill him or who was the real killer? Excellent episode, not to be missed.

Lovely song from 1956. It was a topper on the charts for many months. The song is still greatly appreciated and deserves the colorization. Guy Mitchell also enjoyed a film and TV career!

Wonderful colorization from a near-mint video upload. Great nostalgia to see and listen to Gene Vincent from this excerpt. Gene became a rage in 1957 [those wonderful Rock 'N Roll years] with his hit song Bee Bopa Lula that was featured in the 2nd best Rock 'N Roll film of all time,"The girl can't help it' starring Jayne Mansfield, Tom Ewell. It also featured The Platters with the number 'You'll never know'; plus Julie London with her blockbuster 'Cry me a river' and, not forgetting, the wonderful Teddy Randazzo with his catchy 'Lollipop Lies'. Thanks for this nostalgia upload.

I could have clobbered Johnnie Johnston. He is supposed to be a band manager and instead of keeping his eyes riveted on the young dangers [Lisa Gaye and Earl Barton], he keeps interjecting and moving his eyes every which way. Back in 1956, both Lisa and Earl were the pioneers of Rock 'N Roll. As proclaimed in the movie "This Lisa is a doll, she's young, fresh and sparkles. She just can't miss." Incidentally, Lisa Gaye was anointed the Rock 'N Roll Queen around the world in 1956.

This show-stopper from Rock around the clock titled 'Rock a beatin boogie' is a cut above the rest, not only in colorization, but also the video chosen is pretty good. When you freeze a frame of the main dancers [Lisa Gaye & Earl Barton], the faces don't blur. Hence, you realize that the video chosen for this upload is still useable. Lighting in the colorization is tops and close-ups of the other cast members : Johnny Johnston, Henry Slate and Lynn Bernay are lucid with definition and clarity. I look forward to Oldies giving us another dance-sequence from Rock around the clock. The number requested is "R-O-C-K" again performed by Rock 'N Roll Queen, Lisa Gaye and choreographer, Earl Barton. Here's looking forward to this dance number upload.
