I have this handy size one. Brother Aaron did you find any errors or misprint or typos on this new one yet? Just wondering. Coz i did. Actually someone else did i just checked it out. Nothing mayor. Just a miscalculation on numbers references. If you go to the alphabetical index and look up "David" and follow the chain , look at the reference numbers for David and you'll see what i mean. Thank you Aaron. It's beautiful bible. I have the 1964 4th edition in deluxe leather. It's in immaculate condition. I bought the new revised one in handy size in bonded leather. I trying to get used to the new one but it isn't so bad as people make it seem. Thompson chain reference bible it's a treasure to have. Love your reviews and God bless brother Aaron 🙏🙏👍

Be-careful of the new "improved" Comfort Print Thompson from Zondervan. They totally dismantle, expurgate, and in my opinion trash the legacy of Dr. Frank Charles Thompson. They ripped out the Archeological Supplement that we all knew and loved. Gone are the charming and useful hand-drawn maps which showed the journeys and travels of important figures of the Bible. Remember those illustrations with the little footprints and dotted lines? Also many other study helps that were located in the back of the 1988 5th (and last for Kirkbride) edition are no longer included in your "new and improved" Comfort Print edition from Zondervan. Oddly....I do not feel comforted very much by the new rip off. Ok I get off my soap box.....sorry.....

I had been a user of the Scofield classic study bible for years due to the size and readability. My pastor uses the Thompson but i cant read the text very well due to the size and typeface. I saw this one and bought one. Looks like it will be great. Thank you for tour time.

Aaron, I suggest that you look at the Word on Fire Bible.......It is a beautiful presentation of the Word set in the history of the the Church from the early days of the Apostles and the early Church Fathers through the centuries, including the faith filled thoughts of the Saints and traditions of God's people through all of salvation history. It includes beautiful art and commentary from some of the deepest thinkers like C.S. Lewis and many more. It is a pathway to the deepest relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus.

They messed it up, when they "updated and revised" it . Should have left it alone with the traditional look from the Kirkbrides. Nice covers though.

TBS is a great ministry! I have the Westminster and the Windsor Bibles. The quality is excellent in my opinion, for the price.

I just got my Westminster and that decision was largely based on this review. I have to say that you were right about everything. Its a nice bible but not premium...this isnt a bad thing, its a good thing actually. I dont feel worried that I'll damage it by using it. I have premium bibles and my number one concern is keeping them pristine...i cringe when a page gets crinkled or dog-eared. I dont have that concern with this bible and the references are excellent. it has the perfect size and durability for everyday use as you said and it has a particular stiffness to it that makes the cover feel more protective of whats inside. Its simple and it works!

The One for me is the Schuyler TBS Westminster. I also have a TBS Windsor, Schuyler Personal Size Canterbury, and R.L. Allan 43 and 63.

Probably the very best Bible for over 100 years ( save for the Scofield) -the paper on this edition is the best.

The best bible is the pure text: The King James. Notes belong in other books.

I wish they made a premium version of the handy size.

Good reviews, Too bad that so many companies now resort to sweat shop produced China bibles… I find it hard to enjoy my Bible time knowing what probably occurred to produce the Bible… I realize most things are made there but cant pull the trigger on a China Bible.

I had the black one. Beautiful, beautiful Bible, but I heard about the text block coming apart and returned it. Loved everything about it (besides the binding problem). However, I hate the critical text dictionary part, which I find distasteful.

Excellent point, yes, we are supposed to love God's word. So commonly, people say it's idolatry to "worship" the Bible. But usually they mean they don't like what God's word says and instead want their own felt feelings or personal reasoning about God to be what "really" God is. But, no, sorry, God's word is true (John 17:17) And, as the Bible says throughout itself, believers are indeed intended to love God's word. It is "living and active". God be praised.

I purchased the bonded NIV version due to the outrageously budget price. It has silver edges with black and silver ribbons. I normally dislike bonded leather but truthfully it is sharp looking. I am considering leather soft due to its durability. I just wish the handy size was available in NASB. I love my leather NASB Kirkbride but it is heavy and not portable.
