Stay away from AmaWaterways. We took a river cruise with them this past December and the trip was nothing like what had been sold to us. So disappointing. AmaWaterways told us in emails that they would make things right and that was back in December 2023. How long should we continue to wait???

@@amawaterways I have emails from Shahe Jierian, Vice President Air Development and Services as well as Karen Argonza Wallace who is the Executive Assistant to Kristin Karst who is the co-owner of AmaWaterways I believe. Promises from both to make things right and nothing. This is so disappointing to say the least. The problems we had ruined our trip and we were left to our own devices to try and save our trip. Maybe speak with these two people in regard to our Christmas cruise and trip from 2023. I look forward to at least receiving something saying we are not going to do anything. Not even responding to my follow up emails since December has been rude and unprofessional.

Just returned from our May 14th ‘24 cruise on the Zambezi Queen! We loved it. The whole experience was fantastic. The crew was wonderful and the daily boat outings showed us fantastic views of the reserve animals. Elephants, hippos, Cape buffalo, huge crocodiles and so much more. We took the River and Falls excursion and so glad we did! Thanks AMA!

Ok, we have been in 3 AMA cruises. No guest, I mean absolutely no guest dresses up on these cruises. The space to store luggage and unpack the type of clothes shown in the video, does not exists, even the largest of state rooms. Most guests are in shorts, athletic shoes, and jeans.

For clothing we recommend comfortable, layered clothing adaptable to changing weather conditions is always advisable for daytime excursions. For the evening, “Casually elegant” attire is recommended. We also offer space for luggage and bulky items under the beds, in addition to closets and dresser drawers. We hope you continue to cruise along rivers with us in the future.

How about the weather in early November ?
Hello Jonathan, the weather can vary year to year, but typically November weather in Europe can have standard fall weather instances such as cooler temperatures, partly cloudy days, beautiful fall foliage etc. We always recommend our guests pack layers to prepare for any change in weather.
AMA is the best of all river cruise companies. We have been on 5 cruises and have met folks with 20 cruises with AMA. That should tell you all you need to know.

This information is very misleading. I spent 3 nights on that boat and believe me you won’t be cruising on the Chobe River as you’ve imagined, but will spin around the same daily rout for few hours and return to the same docking station for supper. The Queen has enough tuck boats but only 3 skippers and if you are not happy to squish together with the rest of the VIP guests there are many old books to read available in the chill zone. Very friendly crew and excellent chef are somehow squashed by stingy management and gave me a feeling of being in the army not on a vacation. I won’t be a returning guest. Please do your own research. P.S. The Queen is a Namibian vessel and not allowed in Botswana’s waters so they should fix the address on the website as well! Wish you real African Experience 🙏🏼

They are stories. But they will not tell you the truth. The company is committed to making money, and they found a new cash cow. I have taken several Christmas Market rivers cruises with AMA, but not in recent years.
