Just curious, how well does a light tanker like a 2009 1.2.4d preform at a house fire?
The birds gonna have to go lol
I'm amazed that there is enough oxygen to sustain life in these situations . CO levels must be high as well . Crazy .

What people overseas don’t comprehend about bushfire in Australia is that the eucalypts and our wonderful forests just feed the fire! My family’s home was built on the firegrounds of 1983. Sprinkler’s were installed on the roof, which feeds from both the mains water and with tank water with hand pumping capacity if required. I don’t think he considered the necessity to place sprinklers around the external guttering at the time, but that’s a bloody good idea! Well thought out preventative measure. Good onya!
Bless you - I was here the week before, having flown from Brissy to clean off my dad’s roof in the Dandenong Ranges. It was horrid conditions. The worst nightmare was sitting two states away, watching pins go in a map on the CFA website, and not knowing if my children were safe. The worse part was getting a phone call from my daughter’s mobile number, and hearing her screaming about how bad it was, right before the lines went dead…and yet people in Brissy wondered why my sons and I moved back to Victoria???
1,000 liters a minute to save your house. A lawn sprinkler to save themselves. Pure valor.
That seemed well worth the money.
What incredible people you are! Your bravery is beyond compare…❤

It is the embers that kill. It takes several minutes for a fire to ignite regular wood siding, so the house (and Barn) can tolerate the passage of the fire front IF you keep everything flammable at lest 12 meters out. Once the fire front passes over kill any ember piles you find against the buildings and work your way outward. It helps to have sprinklers out in the yard well ahead of any expected fire arrival to get everything well soaked to suppress spotting.
I would think about sheet metal storm shutter covering to protect any large glass exposures too.
The copa - our plan worked. What plan mate, luck? If your property was never going to survive then why even be there. Typical copa even a failure is written as a win.
Tait will never be as good as Motorola others beg to differ which is fair enough it's now 2023 I think Tait is lifted their game but working with Motorola radios I found them more sturdy and audio output is sensational . When I was in the c.f.a and we were on the analog system the Motorola's works very well as did the hole c.f.a network times are changed everything is gone digital .
Where did the 2 in the back get oxygen in the burn over?
They don't, it's the limited amount in that area
Hokey smoke indeed

people in the back would still get fried.
What are the worth US dollars
I would feel much safer in the cab rather than in that open hatch!
Great educational video
PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: 'Once in a hundred year event' does NOT mean it will only occur about once every hundred years. It means that EVERY YEAR the odds of it occurring are 100 to 1 against... which is not nearly as unlikely as once a century implies. Pass this knowledge on, every time you hear someone make this mistake.
Good Friday happy EARLY DAY
Realistically, they fit all of the people into the cab but when needed they will use the back space.
I'm from the American West, and our firestorms are yellow and orange. Yours are pink, purple, and blue. That's like 1500C or 3000F. The only way I'd get near that is if I was standing under the water deluge system they used on the Space Shuttle.
How much are they
New Zealand will be more better then Australia 🇦🇺 wish Australia has cool trucks and possibly New Zealand🇳🇿 one will be great for around the world.
When the cfa guy said it was in hallam, it's not in hallam it's in Dandenong south, when that fire happened I had family member worked there at the time that I was mins away from there. All the fire fighters did a awesome job to have the fire under control
The problem with Black Saturday is that the wind broke windows and took tiles off roofs because it was so strong (estimated at 110 ks/h) so a lot of people who sheltered in their house, which had been safe on other fire occasions, were killed when the fire burned the house down around them. Most people who fled at the last second (which is a terrible thing to do but they weren't getting updates on the position of the fire until it was too late) ending up surviving. This seemed to break patterns of the past and I know this was a very different event, but it is discouraging to hear advice telling you to shelter in your house when you know 176 people died doing that, or leave as early as you can if not earlier, when you aren't being updated on the fire until it's at your door
Makes me think of building fires, where advice is to get out... unless the building is a tower, where the advice is to stay on floors not in fire so you're not putting yourself at risk, holding up fire fighters trying to use the stairs... and then Grenfell happened.
Not all 173 people died inside their house our inside buildings
God bless you guys
God bless you guys ❤
My god I would HATE to be one of the guys in the shelter on the back. Just having the flaps to save you...... 😳 At least inside you have the exterior of the truck to hold it and also protect you. But to be on the back and be WAY MORE exposed..... 🔥😬🔥 NO THANK YOU! But thank you to all those who are willing to potentially go through that to help others.
ever had a smoke alarm hug you
Smoke detector
😭😭😭😭
Iv even tint windows in that street were those people died
This is badly dangerous iv been in talangy forest before
good luck with that in 1200 degree c

Never stay just leave, save your family, save your pets, save your sanity. No human can fight nature. Survivor of Black Saturday bush fire.
I'm glad you're okay, if you don't mind me asking/if you ever read this, what town were you in?

i would not want to be in the back
I remember black saturday , i live in melb , and on the day wind was very strong and hot as hell , in my area , the mercury was touching 47 C , you knew it was going to be a very very bad day for in those in the fire zones and for the brave people in emergency services giving their all to help out .
Thank you for the information!
For the first 10 seconds I couldn't even tell what language he was speaking. The next 10 seconds I understood about 3 words. Useless title also. I thought it might be about making a homemade filter to remove wildfire smoke from the air.

Are pagers setup to work in the UK and if so what the price and cost of the network and are they available for private use?
Those flimsy curtains wouldn't survive direct flame.
Good design on your new station
How is this thing classified as a light tanker in Tasmania it would be a medium or heavy tanker
Because it’s a small tanker
