3:00 the in universe explanation is that when ciel summoned him, sebastian took on a form that ciel would feel comfortable near so he took on a resemblance to ciel's father

I would highly recommend doing the canon episodes first and then you can go back and watch the non-canon after you catch up to season 4. Season one reveals some things that are canon, but it reveals it in a really dull way when in the canon it’s much more of a plot twist. So if you don’t want the later seasons to be less surprising then I would watch the canon first. Also the non-canon can be very confusing when transitioning from season 2 to 3 because season 2 sort of gives the show a non canon ending which throws things off quite a bit.

Very late and I don't know if you're still reacting but I'm a big fan of the non canon episodes, the filler plot lines they made for the anime were actually really intriguing to me, they were good! Well, S1 episodes anyway, S2 is a abomination that didn't even follow S1's filler plot line which is actually good because you don't have to watch it even if you enjoyed the S1 stuff I never understand why people always recommend against it, it not THAT difficult to just separate the non canon episodes when you get back to the canon ones again. People are talking about it like it's the most complex thing, once you go non canon you can't go back 😂 Could be because I watched the series on tv when it was first airing but everything seemed to flow pretty nicely to me (except S2, really, once you go S2 you can't go back, almost ruined the show for me until I could forget it enough)

Please do what you want. Canon or non-canon, if you’re intrigued, watch all of it. I will warn you though: Watching the non-canon material might throw you off. There’s a lot of continuity errors that you’ll want to keep in mind if you do end up watching non canon episodes (take the entirety of season 2, for example). If you’re asking for my opinion, I would love to see you watch it all. Just for fun!

Please please do NOT watch the non cannon. It truly throws the story off so much and takes away from the dark themes of Black Butler, basically making it look like a joke. I promise you when I say you are not missing anything by skipping them.

I'd prefer you watch canon episodes. The non-canon episodes are quite confusing. They don't add much to the story and in my opinion are not that good.

I always saw this episode as a demented and ironic expression of pro-life. The prostitutes see children as a burden Madam Red sees children as blessing. Yet Madam Red does not hesitate to murder prostitutes who want to abort a child. In the end, lives are lost. What I love and never thought about that Ms. Chai brought up was this twisted justification that Madam Red had for killing more prostitutes to bring back her other family members. It is unfortunate she links Ciel’s return to her murdering women.

If i remember right the thing about Sebastian looking kind of similar to Ciel's father is something Yana (author) already spoke about The explanation is actually outside the world of Black Butler, she (at that time) just didn't know how to draw handsome men without giving them similar faces, even said she was afraid that people would get them mixed because of that.
