Synduality Noir: It Exists! - Bandai High Grade Daisy Ogre - Build Overview and Thoughts
The fact I didn’t seperate the barrels on the smoke discharger like the wheels will haunt me for the rest of time.
This has been on my backlog for a bit now, and with the Gilbow looking lonely on the shelf I figured it was finally time to get it snapped together. It’s definitely a fairly surprising build, with levels of depth that approach real grade territory in the torso, but the articulation can feel a bit lacking, and there’s stickers aplenty, although it was arguably the least trouble I’ve ever had doing HG stickers. Definitely a kit worth picking up, although it might be a tough sell at the £35 most places are flogging it for. Also, Ege Bamyasi by Can is a cracking record, even if it scared the bejesus out of me.
I elected not to class this as a fully fledged review, as I don’t think I went into as much detail on the finished set as I did with the Xabungle - it doesn’t help I found the thing somewhat hard to photograph. Hopefully what I did take will get across the ins and outs of the build.
I entirely forgot to mention that Synduality Noir is available (in the UK at least) on Disney+:

The Y2K Zaku - Bandai 1/144 High Grade Gunner Zaku Warrior - Build Overview and Thoughts
zhlédnutí 1,3KPřed měsícem
Well this took longer than it should have! I think this Zaku was very much a casualty of my conflicting desires to build more Gunpla for the CZcams, but also to take a quick break from building said Gunpla. As such, it’s not the most exceptional build I’ve done, not helped by the rather heavy seam line removal and painting I had to do. Regardless, I’m pretty happy with the finished results, and...
Rated B for Bungle - Bandai 1/144 High Grade WM Xabungle Type (2024) - Build Overview and Review
zhlédnutí 656Před 2 měsíci
Bandai have released a new version of the titular mecha from 1982’s Combat Walker Xabungle! And I decided to build it, and thank god I did, because it’s flipping brilliant. This video ended up being quite a Goliath to put together - more so than I expected! Compared to Temjin I found the script much easier - it was more to do with all the footage I shot and little details I wanted to bring atte...
GET READY (To Glue Stuff) - Kotobukiya 1/100 Temjin (Virtual On) - Build Overview and Thoughts
zhlédnutí 2,1KPřed 3 měsíci
I’m going to have that music stuck in my head for the rest of the year now. It was definitely a unique experience putting this take on Sega’s Mecha legend Temjin together, but I think it mostly pays off in how it looks and poses. It’s certainly more fragile than I’d have liked, even if the main damage I did to it was my own fault, but it doesn’t feel too far removed from my usual model kit fare...
The Mecha Blue Meanie - Bandai 1/144 High Grade Kampfer - Build Overview and Thoughts
zhlédnutí 1,2KPřed 4 měsíci
The MVP of Zeon suits has finally reached my shelves, and all it took was some varnish tube and more yellow than the average Coldplay tour. An incredibly fun build overall - the base kit is a simple but engaging set, and the extra bells and whistles I applied provided both a good challenge, and an end product I could be proud of. Now I just have to try and *not* throw varnish tube on everything...
Bandai 1/100 HG YF-29 Durandal Valkyrie (Alto Saotome Use) - Build Overview and Thoughts
zhlédnutí 3,1KPřed 5 měsíci
I went on holiday, built a robot and caught a cold. Sounds about par for the course for me. A very unusual feeling set, the Durandal Valkyrie felt like a mixed bag once I was done building it, but after spending more time with the finished results I reckon it’s a pretty well-done piece, even if there’s some rather unusual elements (and a heck of a lot of stickers) involved in its construction. ...
(Sort Of) New For 2024! Bandai 1/144 Real Grade 00 XN Raiser - Build Overview and Thoughts
zhlédnutí 7KPřed 5 měsíci
My HG Tieren Space Type build descended into horror at the last minute, so here’s something kind of relevant, and arguably of more interest at the moment - a fairly recent Premium Bandai release, repackaging 2015’s cracking 00 Raiser with a brand new support unit-ship-thingy, and a pair of big swords, to add to the already considerably big swords the old kit had. Rather chuffed with how this se...
None More Yellow - Bandai 1/144 High Grade Methuss - Build Overview and Thoughts
zhlédnutí 2KPřed 6 měsíci
The Real Grade RX-78-2 was a somewhat unpleasant start to my ‘chilling in a shed’ era, so we’re back at it with a very unusual high grade, and one who’s more than meets the eye - maybe don’t tell Hasbro I used that phrasing though. The HG Methuss was a lot of fun to put together. It certainly had a lot of challenges but I’m quite happy with how it came out, and I hope you enjoy watching how I c...

I never thought building the original Gundam could age me so much. Thanks for waiting everyone! It’s been a rather hectic time between the last video and this one, but things are settling down enough that videos should become a little more regular now. Unless all my builds end up as dramatically awkward as this one! This video’s a little rougher round the edges than I’d like - some of the foota...
Bandai 1/144 High Grade Atlas Gundam - Build Overview and Thoughts

Finally done with this one. A variety of matters personal and technical delayed this video, but here’s my look at how I built the Atlas Gundam, a fun if sometimes frustrating kit that ultimately succeeds, at least if you’re prepared to put some time and effort into it. Getting footage and photos for this one was rather tough, as a lot of the painting required up-close adjustment that didn’t len...
Bandai 1/144 Real Grade Hi Nu Gundam - Build Overview and Thoughts

Here’s a video-tastic breakdown of how I build Bandai’s phenomenal Real Grade Hi-Nu Gundam, an absolute Goliath of a mobile suit with tons of exciting and well-engineered features. The build wasn’t entirely plain sailing, with plenty of brief roadblocks to keep me on my toes, but the finished kit is a real masterpiece, and I hope you enjoy seeing how I put it all together! Bandai 1/144 Real Grade Zaku II - Build Overview and Thoughts

I love building Gunpla, and I love talking about building Gunpla, so I thought I’d combine those two things into a video about my RG Zaku II build. A fairly notorious kit, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the kit, but that certainly doesn’t mean it was plain sailing. In the video I talk about what methods I use to build my Gunpla, and some different techniques I utilised to pers...

I feel like the unique appearance of kits in this line was a double-edged sword. Sure, they're cool, but they're not exactly traditional so I'm not sure how much they appeal to most people who buy primarily gundam kits.

Nice work! a good alternative to scraping excess paint, is wooden cocktail sticks they'll wear down first rather then damaging the plastic. I also use it sometimes to rub away dried panel liner in places

Bungle the bear is a character from the British children’s television series ‘Rainbow’. Mostly fondly remembered over here in the UK, but not particularly known anywhere else. Making him a running gag in a video about a Japanese Mecha kit *was* slightly self indulgent of me, but every time I say the Xabungle’s name, I could only think back to Bungle, so that’s where it originated!

RG Hi Nu has been one of my favorite kits for a long time. I can never find a good enough pose to display it in, I always feel like there’s a better one I could put it into. I’ve had mine since 2021 and it is a fair bit looser than it was, as I’ve disassembled it multiple times just for fun. Eventually, I’ll buy a second one to paint or leave straight, have one painted and one untouched, as the straight built RG hi-Nu’s actually look really cool, without any decals or panel lining it looks really elegant.

  • @SamRK-1000
    @SamRK-1000 Před 3 měsíci

I find myself hating ABS plastic more than loving it. It’s not accepting of paint or topcoat, prone to breaking, and makes peg or ball joints feel tight or overly slippery, and there’s no in between. This is a cool model though, I hope the VOLKS kit is better. And as for avoiding superglue for clear parts, Evergreen brand Canopy Glue works great for clear parts that must be glued and also for car and plane model windows/canopies, which are usually glued in. Canopy Glue is more non-permanent for polystyrene, it’s more akin to Elmer’s white or clear glue, which is a alternative that most people use (but Elmer’s is VERY prone to getting stuck and hardening inside its bottle, so I much prefer Canopy Glue). Also, I highly recommend investing in a pin vise and drill bit set so pinning joints is much easier! Great video, hoping to see more kit videos.

ive never bought a bandai robotech kit that was worth the amount i paid for it (despite them getting premium prices). there is ALWAYS some weak joint/joints, stickers i had to replace with waterslides, or really brittle plastic. id like to see motor nuclear or some other up and coming third party (NOT daban) take a crack it.. especially if they can make the transformation work without the proportions looking like ass.

I couldn't get the 00 Riser to slot into my RG 00 Gundam properly. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or if it's a QC issue with my individual kit, but I don't really mind since I prefer the base 00 and riser separately. Nice review. One of these days I'll be brave enough to learn how waterslides work.

I was expecting much the same from this to be fair, but the square area around the peg almost has a slot of its own on the backpack, which stops it moving about. It’s easy to remove, but it won’t fall off when shaken, so perhaps they made the tolerances better on this go round.

Firstly. You realise the methuss is a space use only suit... So it's MA mode not having wings makes perfect sense since they're of no use out of atmosphere. If you like the methuss, the re-zel is it's big brother which takes design cues from much of its design along with the zeta and regz. Lastly, I will never understand why you poms can't pronounce th words and replace them with f or v sounds. Just sounds so dumb and uncultured. I know I know it's nitpicky and half of my people th front too (Australians) but they're all usually bogans and alcoholics. Anyway back to mobile suits.. I'm glad I've never put so much effort into a high grade. I'm most the way through building my delta kai which is an awesome looking little suit with a butt load of parts and more colour correcting stickers than I've ever used before.
