Honda Edix FRV Navigation Edition Radio Removal

You dismantled way more than needed, the only pain are the 2 screws that hold the headunit from below, they're hard to get to, but you should be able to do it anyway. Also, there was no need to remove the dash trims and vents, all you need to take off is the middle piece that holds the AC controls. And no, you don't have to dismantle that to pieces, it comes off as a single piece, has no screw to hold it to the dash but pressure clips only. Last time i took off my nav i required about 1 minute, as i didn't have the 2 screws underneath anymore ( and they're not needed). Btw, mine is a 2.2 diesel executive trim with a manual transmission.
It was a long time ago kkkk - and my first time - since they were no videos of how to remove it.
Do you recommend thier audio interface? Should I go for Scarlett?
is this the only way to change the drinks holder?
How do you modify masda 3 on on honda edix
also which cable went into the back of your new headunit aswell as did the amp stop output as i cant seem to get mine to turn on
How do you wire up an aftermarket one to this
My cigarette lamp isn’t working, what size bulb do I need to replace it?
Great video! I've used it to te remove mine - takes time but carefully fine all fine comes out! Any video how to connect and replace new unit? Thx
Not bad... but for really simple you could try this czcams.com/video/4f7pzGNl8xc/video.html
Not for me that marking gauge is now large enough to use as a mallet.
please let me know whether you removed spring from the router?
Yes I removed one spring which is further away from the lifting mechanism.
@@SKTWoodDesign Thank you so much.
👍
i have the old radio , can i just purchase an original frv sat nav unit and is it jsut plug and play
If its exactly the same as the one you are removing , its plug and play - if not you will need an experience car radio installer to fit in the new radio.
i dont like them...they lack highs and definition..sound muddy muffled...and no great bass either.. very different from the audio technica m50 they try to copy. save more money and buy the m50.
I primarily use them on presonus hardware maybe they are tuned to sound better through their headphone jacks. Audio Technica unfortunately not available in my country.
Nice, you use the posts (runners) from the router itself to stabilize the vertical motion. Lots of other guys build those separately. All you need to be concerned about is mounting a long bolt to control the vertical movement. Clever.
...and don't forget to remove the engine, the seats, wheels, chassis before you start :P btw thanks for sharing! :)
Just use the ruler in a combi square
Hi there. It was not square enough hence had to make something i can trust at least.
I like this. Maybe try with acrylic top for better strength and have it thinner.
siku L nya kurang tebal gan itu, goyang ga bisa siku kalo potong² 🙏
Hi , how can you change the router bits??? After using this sistem for some Time did you change anything?? Thank you for share tour work
I lower the router to its lowest level and change the router bits from the inside in comparison to changing from the top. I have not made any changes it works very well. I only added a bit of greese to the threaded rod.
I know I must have missed it but what keeps the top adjusting nut from spinning off the end of the threaded rod? Did you peen it or perhaps drilled it for a set screw? Great solution to a problem I have had with adjusting the depth of cut from above the table! I hope to use your method in the near future.
Hie @LarryT1948, If you go at timestamp 8:15 and pause the video , you will see that there are two nuts that act as the stopper. They are tighten in opposite direction to prevent the rod from slipping. And then at the bottom teak block there is another threaded insert which helps raise and lower the router.
the 7 are cheap constructed like the superlux that thin plastic headband breaks too soon..and the h9 are a bad sounding copy of the ath m 50
is it good for mixing?
@@flinxsnicopert Yes it realy good for the price.
These are the only ones available in my area. Im sure the superlux are also budget friendly

Hi can I change language on this model to English I just bought it and all is on Japanise
hi there.Congrats on your purchase. unfortunately you can not change to english. I used microsoft translate and google translate to understand before deciding to get a cheap androod radio. The sound quuality is excellent though.
@@xpertstrategist2216 what type of android radio you bought?
Congratulations on your new car. No, you cannot change language unfortunately. @Xpertstrategist is correct - For me I changed it and bought A generic Android 8806 Double Din Head Unit. This is the unit i bought but higher version: czcams.com/video/CKc4H0LDLsU/video.html
What about this plastic frame ?
hello, i would like to get a similar router ,after a long experience with this machine , did you have any problem with this machine ?
Hie. I don't have any problem with the router - It is quite powerful and has a speed adjust. Mine was a bit stiff to plunge down so I took out one spring and it is now very useable - maybe yours will not be too stiff for plunging. All the best
@@SKTWoodDesign thank you very much, from Algeria
Most Welcome.

Hey mate. Can you please help me out on advice on what to do with my door. Driver's door doesn't want to lock with a car outside? If I close all three doors manually and close the driver's it opens the others. So currently I'm only closing 3 doors and not the driver's one. Please help. Thanks In advance
Hie. I am not well versed with doors but when I opened mine to install speaker wires they seem to be the same with most Honda models - CRV , Accord so maybe take it to those dealers for Honda they may be able to assist.
Thank you... finally a review of these that actually mentions (or shows) whether or not you can rotate them for single phone listening while mixing.
Glad it helped. I highly recommend them if you are planning to buy.
Well done, you have some nice jigs in use!
Thanks! I try to find the easiest jigs that are functional - tried other didnt work out for me . Still improving my skills too in this lockdown.
Very thoughtful of you. Well done!
Thank you! Cheers!
That is a fantastic solution, did you take out the springs from the tubes of your router case? I have one old router which is quite similar problem with this router is the case and the tube guides do not have a snug fit, there is a little play. I've mounted my Makita router case but have to change height manually entering the box which is an obstacle. You are already some steps ahead 👍
Yes I took out one spring opposite the lift mechanism- Using both springs was too much - using only one balances the lift easily. - My palm router is too weak for my routing needs so I needed to put the big one.
This is quite simple - this is one of the best approach to a lift i have seen on CZcams! Great job
Thanks!
Nice workbench - well done! - I see the fence is temporary. Are going to upgrade it?
Thanks, Yes i intent to redo the fence mechanism to something more rigid and stable. stay tuned for future videos.
Can't belive it you did it 👏👏👏 and you did an excellent job my friend 👍👍👍 on both the workbench and the video as well, which is really a pleasure to watch - knowing how much hard work it takes capturing all the important things on camera and puting all the relevant parts together to finally produce a video, kudos on both - great craftsmanship and talent!
Thank you - took a lot of figuring out since i could not get the lazy susan plates. I am still figuring out a fence upgrade so that it does not move at the tip - your idea is to use a crossbar in your videos. And I am thinking of making a DIY Dust extractor as mine seems weak in the suction - Any ideas? - And can i have a video on your riving knife attachement for your circular saw insert
@@SKTWoodDesign Yes there are plenty of fence attachment solutions out there on youtube certainly the most efficient one is the one, where the fence is getting attached to both edges of the table. My solution is just a quick and dirty one which keeps the fence quite stable so fare, but yes this is definitely something I want to improve one day. There are quite some easy to make solutions for cyclone dust separators on youtube. Certainly for the way I have attached the riving knife I'll try to figure something out.
@@thetinywoodworkshop Thanks hope to see any improvements you have made to the workbench including the riving knife attachment. I am almost done with the inserts - including the big router lift. I will post the video soon! Stay safe in this lockdown.
@@SKTWoodDesign 👍 stay safe too
What does it look like at the bottom near to the gear knob with it all taken out? Did you have to find a different dash?
Hie. No - I sanded down the opening a bit to fit the Android Radio.
@my views on tech... Do you have a video showing the installation of Android radio
@@SKTWoodDesign Hi ! How did you connect the android radio ? What was the wiring scheme or harness to connect it to the amplifier and for everything to work ?

I would also appreciate some help with regards to connecting it. Struggling terribly to find solution. Just sent you an email. Hope can get it connect! Cheers!

Thanks. Very handy tool indeed.
Great idea. Am going to make one for the small home. Nice use of scrap wood.
