I have a 2012 Strictly 7 Solar and it's one of the best made guitars I own. It's incredible in terms of build quality, weight, feel, fretwork. Sadly, I believe the company went south some years later. If you can get your hands on one made around 2012 I could not recommend it enough (no, I'm not selling it!).
❤️🎶🎵🎸🎶🎵🎙️🎶🎵👍🙏❤️😎
Well I got to get one then!
The fact that this is still the go to video for so many years is amazing. Been wanting to pick one up myself
A thumbs-up is just not enough to express my appreciation for your innovative and high quality products. Thank you so much for great engineering. All the best.
Hi great video, I have an affinity Stratocaster bought it new around 2021. I presume I need the hip shot 8 mm?
I was just going to block my Trem, but maybe I’ll adjust my trendsetter instead, thanks.
I have Hipshot extender keys on both of my 4-string basses, and on the B string of my Dingwall Lee Sklar Signature 5-string. I've never seen his Dingwall with the two detuners. Have to look for a photo of that.
Awesome.
This is such a great idea and product!! I ordered a set from stew Mac for a Warmoth neck. Now I don’t have to drill set holes, I can use the UMP and I’m gtg!!
That's a gorgeous bass!!!
As a previous s7g owner and was in contact with the factory 2 years. The USA models were awful on quality and had many issues while being overpriced. The Japanese JS models and Japan factory ones are top notch. The US factory closed down and took their website down.
Just got a BT-5 for my rickenbacker 4003 and it’s awesome! Love the lapel mic on the beard also 😂
Love hearing legends share their knowledge.
Does the staggered height stay the same on a reverse Headstock ? I just bought an Ibanez with a reversed Headstock and intend to put locking tuners on it . I actually put locking tuners on All my Guitars since it makes string changes faster and easier then trying to get a perfect wynd on a traditional Tuner !!!
Thank you very much for your video regarding the trem setter on the Fender strat. My fender has one but I've never known how to set it properly
I just installed a set of the open-gear locking tuners on my Tele, installation with the UMP was so easy and the tuners work great and look fantastic.
I have an Ibanez rg series 170 r And I’m stuck with choosing whether bass or treble non staggered I don’t see the difference nor get the difference Need help plz
100% agree! Much love and respect to Leland Skylar!
Good video, helped me instal one today on a 73 Fender Jazz. Works great. Other intervals can be tuned as well. I'm using open F to drop E for one song.
if i buy 1/8 i can drop ?
I'm in LOVE with my 2 Laklands! Once you go Lakland, you never go back!
cool i want to buy so if possible your whatsapp number
This guy had a special thing going very special got too big too fast probably should have had some advisor set a certain number of build and get plenty of the help. These guitars kill
I don't know if he turned his stuff over to the Asians or not but this was a hell of a brand and everyone I've ever felt or tried out six string wise was great
It's a shame this guy couldn't run a freaking bad ass guitar factory
I started with one Lakland DJ-4 and now own 3 different Laklands. A top quality bass with great customer service.
I just put a set on my Squier Bullet Mustang, only difference is mine was two plates, it appears you have a single plate. Very pleased with my locking tuners.
lollipop, lollipop Oh lolli lolli lolli
That’s a great drop D design! I wish Hipshot could design one like this one for Telecaster guitar bridges. I just installed the Hipshot B bender with Drop D & I love it a lot. I don’t want or need B benders on all my guitars. As it would be nice but too costly for the little I use it. As for Drop D I use that tuning a lot on the fly. I know of GT 1 & GT2 for my personal needs due to my cerebral palsy I prefer the lever on or behind the bridge rather on the headstock. BTW Great tutorial video!!! Thank you
Americans and engineering...
nice functional product conceived by a higher intellect jewish mind
Will this cover the screw holes left by mini Grover 205s? Their screws hole stick out a little to the side rather than straight down
Were the post heights stated in this video wrong, or have the available options changed since 2012? Hipshot website currently shows 19mm as the shortest.
thanks J can't wait to get mine
Can I use these for Gotoh tuners
Bought a Fender boxer bass with black hardware. What Drop D Xtender can I buy?
I want one!!!
You should make a roller bearing nut to avoid the bi-sided tension on the string.! Just a suggestion.
Brilliant.
Bolt on neck. No thanks.
Love the idea but I am afraid of using the Ump.. to me it seems that the ump would leave a mark on the finish when you tighten the nut?
I’ve played a Zon Sonus for almost 10 years. The 6 string is lighter than a p bass. It’s the most comfortable instrument I’ve played.
Jesus Christ... I love the Hipshot Tremsetter but this is like watching Doc Brown explain his plan to wire up the clocktower for 1.21.giggawatts.
Lefty old bore not banging on about Trump for once.
Guys, you need to update this video from 2012. The quality is very low for today's video standard. Cheers
Agree
is this compatible with left-handed guitars?
Awesome work of art, and apparently also provides the goods.
I wanted to play a 6 string bass just to get that open high C note but I didn't really want to have to play a 6 string to get that. The primary reason for this was because I really don't like having a dedicated open low B string. I just wouldn't be playing it that often and it would just be in the way all the time. HipShot provided a perfect solution for me with their Bass Extender, coupled with the optional Double Stop Lever. What I did with my 5 string bass was convert it to a High-Five 5 string by dumping the open low B, moving the other strings up, and then, adding an open high C where the open G used to be. Then, I used the HipShot Bass Extender--w/the Double Stop Lever--to get me an open low E, an open low D, and an open low B all on my low E string. I moved up to a 110 gauge on the E string to keep the tension up for when I am down in D or B.
Great invention! What materials did you use to make the extender? My question is based on sound projection, some materials like brass don’t really work well as a sound conductor between the string and the tailpiece. I personally wouldn’t use grease because of its string muting properties, and or sound quality changes. Graphite would be my choice.
