We Rise Again - Leon Dubinsky/Stephen Smith - Bournemouth Male Voice Choir
zhlédnutí 3,1KPřed 10 lety
Recorded live in the very dry acoustic of The Cripps Theatre at Northampton School for Boys. Musical Director (complete with chest infection) ended up on the solo as its new to the repertoire, so be gentle - he is well aware he's breathless. Lovely music, thanks to Stephen Smith for writing this men's choir arrangement. Poet-songwriter Leon Dubinsky, who grew up in Sydney and now lives with his...

What kind of breathing technique she used?
This is a most memorable piece of music beset with a well place oboe accompanement
2010, I attended more than a couple Sunday Services at St Georges and truly their choir is amazingly wonderful, although the choristers are different from that above. tear jerking their Communion hymns but splendid singing.
Beautiful music thanks van ben fastenau Middelburg Holland thanks ❤️
OBOE (Philharmonique Haiti Orchestra) , my instrument so nice
Wundervoll - insbesondere die Oboeistin - circular breathing
Can you play ANY instrument and still criticize his playing
Wow...that's me second left front row, soprano line back in the day. How lovely to find this recording on you tube. Brings back so many memories and so many faces I had forgotten over the years. Loved the choir under Jonathan Gregory and to think this was all happening at the Ulster Hall in Belfast at the height of The Troubles is amazing really.
To have been part of this beautiful performance is a privilege that will remain with you for ever. Thanks
We probably sang together in the choir!
of course the absurdity of this as well as his La donna e mobile recording is to imagine the pious McCormack in the role of the Duke
Ein wunderbares Stück von J.S. Bach, im deutschen Original "Jesus bleibt meine Freude" hier auf Englisch wunderschön interpretiert. Bravo
the Count does it again!
La música más maravillosa digna del REY DE REYES, muchas gracias
Their wonderful chorus embodies the aesthetics of Bach
It is "Yay-su". Not "Jee-zoo".
All time favourite
nice soprano tone ,no vibrato bellowing.
I played the viola, I was just OK, because I would breakdown and cry, during the playing of such Music
The same heaven....
The word and Kingdom of God cannot be shaken and stand firm forever.
If _only_ Zarth wrote as simply and _mit_ eloquence ! Overplay? Call it as you will, it is uplifting .. mystical, and rejuvenating.
Oh yes, Cavan, aeternally. That is why we are forever saved and blessed
🕊🌻♥️🌈🙋♂️♥️🙋♀️♥️🌈
Beautifully done!
Aw, Mr Gregory was my school music teacher at Richmond Lodge, and he brought me into St-George's to sing the Pie Jesu solo at one of their performances! Good memories.
love to hear you Gillian,is there a recording of you on yutube? I was a choriister too
"G-Zoo"??? 🤦🏻♂️
Bach to mistrz nastroju i klimaty. Nie ma utworu, który nie jest arcydziełem.
cool
Thank you!
Thank you!
This is just amazing... The oboe👏👏

McCormack ... How’s the world’s greatest tenor today? Caruso ... When did you become a baritone?
Magnificent!! How I wish he had made even more operatic recordings than what he did. John McCormack was bel canto supreme!
Phyllis you so understand his voice. THANK YOU. I grew up John, so I love those who loved him.
Mimosa, I was sixteen years old when I first heard John's tenor voice. I was immediately taken with it. He is a very special singer to me!
Phyllis, You are most likely much younger than I, 69 but to find a soul who loves his voice defive is a amazing. I so THANK YOU. Never anyone like him.
Great singing of a lovely lied. Johnny is the best in all types of music. He was priceless!
Absoloutely enchanting
DEAR MDBMDBMVC, ON THE RECORDING OF THE QUARTET WITH JOHN MCCORMACK & LUCRETIA BORI, WHO ARE THE OTHER SINGERS?
One of my favourite Trinity Sunday hymns!
he takes you to school.
Hermine Stover agreed.
This certainly is a favorite John McCormack recording of mine. John was a wonderful singer---so much better than some of the tenors of today. He did sing with feeling despite what some critics have said. He was a singer of grace and elegance!
McCormack e La Bori semplicemente Meravigliosi ! Grazie !
What a piece of operatic history this is. The recording technique is so crude and yet it's all there. I believe they were singing into what closely resembled tin tubes. A young McCormack with the world at his feet. As well as the rest of them. He didn't have a "weighty" tone like Caruso, but he more than made up for it with sheer legato and elegance of his voice.
Even a hundred years after, these beautiful voices can make you shed tears. May be this is immortality
So True
I think oboe loses tempo at some point
I like those phrasings
Awesome!
Love it!!!
great choir
the oboe just makes it so beautiful. lovely choir!
Beautiful. Just....... Beautiful.
Rhagorol! Outstanding!
I was looking to see if Roy Mac Donald was there but can't see him. Anyhow great Singing
Ardderchog! Excellent.
Very sweetly done.
