The main thing I'm taking away from this is that so many FNF modders are afraid to commit to an actual pattern of notes. If you have a repeating arpeggio that doesn't change the notes in it, why can't you just MAKE THE NOTES FRIGGIN' MATCH THAT IT'S AN ARPEGGIO? YOU DON'T NEED TO MAKE THE NOTES RANDOMLY JUMP AROUND JUST TO MAKE IT "HARDER".

Man this video gives me mad nostalgia, the amazing original characters, the bomb-ass tracks and even the crossover mods (like date week with Carol and Whitty). this lowkey makes me want to spin back and play again. Although, i remember there was a lot of controversy surrounding certain mods like Sky, and for some reason the whitty creator deleting his mods as a whole.

As a day 1 mid-fight masses hater, I have to say that the music is indeed quite good and the artstyle is pretty, which only gets ruined by the amount of sliding and twiching they characters sprites do, the charts, on the other hand, are straight up bs, pretty much the only reason why i hate the mid with a passion, which is funny cuz i actually like the tricky mod and the charting there is also nuts, but the real reason why i hate mid-fight masses's charting is not cuz its hard (i struggle with vanilla week 7 to this day, soo idrc about difficulty in that sense) but because the charting fit the songs barely if at all (the first song is the only whos chart actually fits with the song), and is just full of senseless single/double/triple notes spam just so that the mod could be know as "the hardest fnf custom week" back in the day, and id say is noticeable with zadovila the most, which despite being my favorite song in the whole mod (shocker) i fill with anger everytime i see gameplay, atleast with tricky u can hear all of his songs without looking at gameplay and expect there to be just a whole lot of note spam, but with mid-fight masses's songs one would expect some week 7 sort of difficulty at most, not the goddamn hardest fnf mod at the time it came out

These old mods had unique and recognizable characters with cool stories. The new ones are just creepy versions of pre existing characters with the same cut and paste story templates. That isn’t to say the old mods didn’t have their criticisms; a lot of them ended with a climactic battle against some powerful form that was ridiculously difficult. I would still prefer this “classic era” of mods over the new spooky slop

I know you only went over the songs that were the most popular, but if you didn't play the entire mod, there is a lot you could miss out on, both good and bad.

This was better times, when mods consisted of songs that were actually nice to listen to instead of the vaguely rhythmical messes of notes we have today

It feels weird calling these mods "old" now. Obviously 3-4 years ago isnt too long ago. Remembering when these mods came out and became popular was a such a funny transition in my life. I personally think many of these mods still holds up years later. It feels weird getting nostalgic remembering these little mods when they came out.

Doing only one of the big two and putting it against aged stuff is a bit sad for literally everything else in existence. Might as well play Indie Cross now.
