Still a bit wet out there. Recent rains? Thanks for sharing Stephen.
It’s been raining in the afternoons like clockwork and we have a storm coming through this weekend. It’s going to be a lot wetter.
Do you get many tic issues out there?
Yes the ticks are pretty bad. I have to keep tick spray in my truck and treat my gear too.
Awesome videos bro. I'm out of Orlando, if you ever want a hiking partner, let me know.
@@mountainman.4478 thanks, sounds good.
Is this in florida? Just curious
Yes. Thonotosassa area.
This trail reminds me of my hiking in the Osceola state forest low lying pine flatlands that seemed to always be wet.....the only civil War battle in Florida occured there.
that shelter is awesome!...I have never been to that forest I will have to check it out!
@@hikewithmike4673 you will like it. I’ll definitely be back to explore some more.
Thanks for sharing ❤
#292, let’s go🤙
I love it. Swamps are awesome 😊
Seen a orange vest yeah after name dropping this wma you just add 10+ more and made it take 2+ more preferences points to draw it. Hope your views and subscribes are worth screwing locals
Not my intentions. Good luck hunting.
Looks like a great place thanks for sharing ❤
Good stuff, Stephen! Interesting trail, with a good mix of critters. Looks very narrow for the most part . Thanks for taking us with you!
Glad you enjoyed it.
Nice hike! I did that one about two weeks ago in the evening. Last one off trail so I got to see a bunch of critters! You should check out Little Big Econ Forest at the Barr St trailhead. East cut of the FT and has a ton of side trails. Southbound it heads all the way down to the east west split and is pretty much trail the whole way with plenty of campsites. Keep up the great videos!
Thanks for watching. I’m looking forward to hiking that section you mentioned.
Great hike, gotta stop my next trip north.
nice capture of the big gator the mass of vegetation behind it looks like could be a nest for the eggs? Those pygmy rattlers blend in so well with the vegetaion on the forest floor!
Very well could have been a nest.
It is good to see that people are out and about. It's nice to hike alone, but it is nice to meet people every now and again and chew the fat. I loved the deer and the hog. It just goes to show that it may be near places, but it is still wild. Is that a manmade levee. I wondered if we would see a gator or not. I was worried about gators, and you come up on a rattle snake 😮. I loved the woodpecker, too. It is great that they have boardwalks over the difficult sections. Another great hike, Stephen. Thanks for sharing.
I do believe it’s a man made levee and it was a great hike. Thanks for watching.

I get it Stephen, once you are wet, you may as well just go for it. At least it keeps the feet cool. We've only had a few days over 70f this side of the pond. There are certainly some great trails out there. It reminds me of my hikes how wet and boggy this was. You look for the beauty in everything. I just look around in awe at the beauty, too. And it gets wetter! I'd be afraid of gators. Another great video. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you sir.
Good stuff, Stephen! I believe we’ve had more rain since you did this hike … bet the waters are deeper now!
Thanks, and yeah it seems we’ve gotten into the summer afternoon thunderstorms. It helps beat the heat!
A fellow hiker in Hillsborough County! Good stuff! Everywhere you have hiked, I have been looking at maps of!
There are plenty of great hikes to explore here in central Florida. Happy hiking!
Nothing like swamp hiking love it!
Thanks for sharing! I've been meaning to go scout this year. I'm still trying to get a redraw for Upper Hills. I've been focusing on other WMAs for now.
I only put in for archery here this year. I’ve also been hunting other WMAs. Thanks for watching!
Very cool, I cross by Hillsboro every time I go to the site. Sometimes I stop in the wooden nickel down there, good wings. Thanks for the really nice tour.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it.
Fantastic work man, this hike looks and sounds great! 👏👏
Thanks, and thanks for watching.
Yeah buddy
It certainly was a great video Stephen.
@@chrisbentleywalkingandrambling thanks, I enjoyed making it.
❤
What a beautiful way to spend the day out with the family, Stephen. I'd definitely fall in paddle boarding though. No balance at all. Are there any Manatees out there? That root looks like a pigs head to me. I'm with you, too many people. I like the outdoors, but I dont like the people. Thanks for sharing Stephen.
I didn’t see any manatees this time but yes I’ve seen them there in the past. Thanks for watching.
Be careful ❤
Thanks for sharing. It was a fun day.
Yes it was!
The Chazz is a great river to paddle upon, been there a few times not too far from me!
It’s an awesome place but I think the weekday would be a lot less crowded. Lots of fish and wildlife along the river.
@@walkeroutdoorsadventures8521 go in the winter it is a lot less crowded
You are logging some miles Stephen! Looks like a nice hike!
great video ! I have the 25 l Ampex- Love it but I was wondering if the only difference between the 25 and 35 it the top part? I had to totally unhook the should straps to fit me since I am 6ft. thanks !!
@@johnnorman4420 looks to me the removable brain might be the difference between them. Thanks for the comment.
Good stuff, Stephen! There is a learning curve to “hammocking” … which is the only way we camp now. We sleep so much better hanging than we do when on the ground. Question for you: At the places you’ve left your truck overnight, such as McNeil and Tucker … do you know of any issues with car break-ins? That’s my only concern about overnighting … the security of our car. Keep up the great work your are doing … you got a talent for this!
Thanks I really appreciate it. I don’t know of any issues with break-ins at the trailheads but I do take all my valuables out when I park overnight. It is always in the back of my mind though.
Great video and documentation of the trail, Stephen! Congratulations on a very successful and challenging hike. Your daily milage through all that water is impressive! If you ever get the opportunity to through hike the entire Florida Trail, I know you’d do well.
The ocean to lake is a unique and challenging trail, one of my favorites. I will hike the entire Florida trail but just a section at a time for now. Thanks for the encouragement.
I've RV camped & hiked there plenty of times. SWFWMD donated that park to the county. Once you pass thru the fence line you're back on state land. Looks like Bigfoot camp hasn't been used in a long time. What a waste. That terrible dirt road is Auton. Best to use River Road to access the park.
It’s a great place and I sure hope somebody’s using the Bigfoot camp. It’s a heck of a camp. Thanks for the comment.
Awesome hike, Stephen! I will definitely check out Blackwater Creek. You’re one of the very few folks that I know who know about “bull bats”! In my youth, I saw and heard them just about every evening during the summer. Their diving sound is so cool. But I haven’t seen/heard one in many years now. Thanks for your trips and insights!
@@daybro4276 I don’t think there are many if any bull bats around anymore and blackwater creek is nice.
Your goal to complete the western corridor of the Florida Trail is admirable and you’re almost there! Great job and your videos help others who may have the same goal. FYI … We live about one mile South of the Hwy 50 and US 301 intersection that you passed. Keep it up!
@@daybro4276 I’ve actually completed the western corridor and now I’ll be working on the rest of the trail a section at a time. Too damn hot right now though.
@@walkeroutdoorsadventures8521 Congrats on your completion of the western corridor! I realized you had completed it, after seeing more of your videos, just after I first commented. I’m envious!
Great video! My wife and I have hiked through this park several times and it’s always been enjoyable. Just found your CZcams channel and will be watching more of your central Florida stuff. We know each other … Dennis Y.
@@daybro4276 hey, glad you found it and it’s good to hear from you. Hope yall are doing good.
I hiked "Lower Green Swamp Outer Loop" last Saturday because of your video. Thanks for sharing.

@@tmarine3159 how did you like it?
@@walkeroutdoorsadventures8521 I really enjoyed hiking this area. The scenery is beautiful. It is starting to get a little wet in some areas.
My wife and I checked that place out a couple weeks ago. It’s a hidden gem for sure. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for watching!

Thanks for watching.
Beautiful pictures and a great view from the tower. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks
I gotta check this one out soon! This Florida heat is wild this year 🤣 🥵
I actually thought of you while hiking this. I remembered you looking for a shaded trail for you and your wife to hike well, this is the one…
those plecos cats are invasive species they can get huge I saw a video of a gator eating one almost 3 feet long
cool...I have seen the signs for this park on my way to the green swamp area.
Definitely worth a stop.
Thank you! I enjoyed this video.
I’m glad. Thanks for watching.
As an avid barefoot hiker I will assure you being a hippy is not required. You will need to relax and enjoy your surroundings, every hike will be different even if you're on the same trail. Be prepared to be more present, aware and tuned in to nature as everyday stress is left behind like footprints.
I definitely enjoyed it. Thanks for watching.
The cabin is most likely a ranger house. My State Park up here has two.
