Usually people make casings for their wood siding, Hardie boards, cedar impression, fiber cement or wrap aluminum trim for siding as simple as possible and install vinyl siding J channels around it. Possible apply to any kind of windows and doors ( double hang, casement, fixed, sliding, bay, bow, picture windows or hinged, french, sliding, wall mount sliding, bypass, folding, louver, flush, pan...

with this method, you don't need a j channel because you made one as part of the casing/ makes for a more professional and cleaner look. thanks
First time I’ve observed the method of snipping the ends for measurements. That’s great. This is gonna save me so much time... I just wrapped 20 windows Some 8 footers and a bunch of medium ones... this would have saved me so much time if I knew then...
