You don't need it. 350 con passive and WH grit passive on heavy attacks both provide enough grit protection. Most of the time you taking damage when relocating or while blocking

@@kevintulley3229 I will say it’s not this easy you definitely have to use your perks. I use to shield run then go into a war hammer move but then when you weapon swap your fortify from shield rush is gone or vice versa with the hammer it’s definitely a perfected strategy

They try to. I turn and funnel them. Since I have surefooting and sns battle mobility passive, it's hard to get behind me. Especially if I get the sense you are trying to flank me. I also use the environment to keep my side protected when allowed.

@atlasfishmo yeah you did a good job using the environment. I specced the passive and sturdy energy on shield in light, it's kind of crazy how much spear damage I can avoid and keep my stam up

@@dokanyon with fresh start servers, none of that matters. Most console players are gonna be on a new server. So unless you want to play on a low pop PC only server, you would need to start over anyways.

Yeah I would hold off on buying anything. On October the whole gear score will rise to 725. You can wear frigid dawn and put health

1. Shirking heals is not good on heavy. Dodge is costly and needs to be used to either gain distance or reposition. Shirking heals can be baited out and you can waste Stam if they feint. The amount of potential dps I can mitigate with block exceeds that of a dodge using the same amount of stamina. Block pauses stamina, so block dodge will make you out of stam fast. If you use shirking heals on heavy, you dont need a tower shield. Ankh decreases the effectiveness of trenchant recovery, lifesteal and leeching. So I would avoid that. 2. You can do that. It is viable. Sturdy is more general for defense and allows you to maximize battle mobility sns passive and surefooting and defensive formation. The combination provides and impenetrable defense while maintaining enough mobility to escape AOEs and funnel players (see combat guide in description). Sturdy and surefooting are in same perk pool. So you can't have both on shield. Sns is defense bar so you should remove any dps perk before you consider removing utility perks. 3. Personal preference. Refreshing move works just as well. Lifesteal on sns stacks with leeching. Once you have fortify up and defenders resolve up, lifesteal allows your health to remain high when trading with grit.

@@atlasfishmo Thanks for the clarifications, sh is rly bad now since u need also sturdy e. on chest that makes it 4 sh + if u miss to heal up ur out of stamina in 1vx fights thats 99% death, with tank stamina management is all, fortify up drop down shield and trade hits. You think the health is the best as 3rd perk on fd parts? Any other perk could be good like slash/thrust conditioning or health all the way cuz of high con ?

@@BillyPitonNS health is better. With this much con, you get a lot more bang for your buck. And the higher health gained with health perks, the longer it takes to see your health bar. So it works well for pvp taunting. It's not as strong as it was previously with defiant stance being health based. But since regeneration and pots and food all scale off max health. And when healing heart is fixed that will scale too.

@@atlasfishmo Did you ever thought about changing shield stun for some other skill? Maybe leaping strike for entering/escaping combat and finishing off fleeing targets? Also empowering l. strike works over 50% empower. Do you think jasper is best gem atm for tank (mby moon stone could work?) and 3rd perk on your earring refreshing wouldn't be better to get mby healthy toast or fortifing toast?

@@trutoyrslf I wasn’t chasing him he was right in the road between our outpost and mid. Difference was that guy couldn’t kill anyone while Fishmonger can. I get your point, though, and we eventually ignored him. It was just fascinating.

@JamieKeefer and Atlas makes it look a lot easier than it really is. But it's a troll build nevertheless, that's never won an opr... the people that chase him to Narnia are the losers that lose oprs and then say "next" and sit in spawn because they got spanked.

Elemental aversion, enchant ward, health is better for well rounded damage reduction. Inv doesn't help against players who have extended debuff duration.

Tanking is harder now than before. Everyone is doing more damage, and heavy armour got nerfed in damage (-15% base damage reduction) and mobility (can only dodge 2x even with hearty). It's better this way because there were a ton of non-tanks using heavy armour for no reason. So the nerfs weeded out everyone who isn't experienced with the class.

I've fought in OPR jungles more than 99% of the pvp player base. The area is more complex than ppl give it credit for. There are angles on rocks that you need to hit just right to climb, while certain bamboo trees dont allow you to pass through and can trap dodge spammers. Disadvantage is you can't force players to follow you.

Your max health begins to show once you reach your health without any health perks. So I have 4 health perk on body, 2.5% each. Then 7% on amulet. That is total of 17%. So at ~23k, 17% is ~4k. So they will see my health at 23k- 4k=19k. For your build, add the total amount of %health perks you are wearing and subtract that from your max and the remaining health is what opponents need to get you to in order see your health bar. The %health perks act like an invisible shield essentially.
