    This seems to be happening a lot with this particular model. Coming out of the Scagg lineup. There is another gentleman who posted a new video of a brand new cheetah. That he got from his local dealer up north. The mower had 1.9 hours on it and the left side spindle failed. Dealer charged to pick it up . Did not say if he was charged for replacement. Now he’s experiencing belt issues. This alone, has sent me looking at other brands.

    Scagg dealer support has always been horrible manufacturer does not want to stand up to the warranty great machine when it runs right but dealer support is always horrible with this product probably because of the manufacture

    I know this video is old, but scag and their dealers are even worse now. I've posted several videos about my 3 brand new scags and their issues. you got lucky with your dealer buying it back, my dealer completely ignored me when i had brought several issues to their attention. when i contacted scag they said when the unit leaves their property it's no longer their responsibility. today in 2022 they are installing cheap Loncin engines with a scag sticker on the engine cover and charging over $7000 for a liberty Z !

    @gfy8230 Před 2 lety

    stop grifting, if scag sucks fine, but you are starting the mower wrong. full choke, slow speed, crank for 15 seconds or so- this essentially primes the motor, no choke, slow speed, turn key start, DOES START, run for a few minutes, engage pto at half to two thirds speed, then increase speed to full. mow yards, conquer all bankers and politicians with newly found independent contractor, in practice but not on paper, status. ps taxes are gay. best of luck homie.

    Looks to be an electrical issue, because you said something about the clutch. Replace the clutch, or replace the fuses, and you should be good. Source: I run a Scag Cheetah.

    It's not charging, should be around 13.8 volts at full throttle. Running on battery once voltage dropes to low you efi will shut down . And other problems

    *A huge timesaver One last note🌾🌾 **allabout.wiki/Z254** this mower is incredibly powerful. During my pruning, I was cutting HUGE branches off some of the large trees. I would then stack the branches into piles, tie them together with a tow-rope, and connect the other end to the back of the mower. It had POWER-TO-SPARE in hauling the large piles of branches, and it didn't even break a sweat! All in all, a very nice piece of equipment...I will get a ton of use out of it!*

    I JUST FIXED MINE!! The battery went dead last year so I jumped it with a starter pack twice (which the manual says not to do by the way). I replaced the battery this year. Worked for a while but then had similar problems to you this year. I replaced the fuel filter since I had one on the shelf anyway. Then I downloaded the Kohler manual and started learning about all the sensors and error codes. Suspected all the kill switches but then finally found that the battery ground wire was loose underneath the engine!!!!! What a bitch it was to get to and tighten but it's finally fixed!!!!!

    This is been going on for years with Scag. Blaming the PTO switch. And they keep replacing it and it fails. I would suggest Scag go out and buy a new wiring harness that actually works. And someone that actually can install it properly.

    So if you still have the mower buy the third party switch. If that dosent resolve it, listening to it sounds like the air filter needs cleaned and or the line so buy mass airflow sensor cleaner spray some in the air intake and start it up on half throttle and slowly increase throttle. Now you may have to adjust the clutch if it is stalling like that I have had that problem with my V Ride (Kawasaki Motor)

    First it’s Scag not Scags and of all the commercial mowers on the market Scag has the best reputation because they build the best machines. Of course there will be anomalies but to group them together as you do is telling to who you are. You need a dealership capable of fixing it is all but I am sure you’ll spend less on your lawyer than a replacement switch.

    well first of all always start your mower with half throttle not full and you should check your PTO belts and wires wiggle the wires if they are loose tighten them and check for bad pulleys or belts on the belt under the seat for the hydraulic system and I have this same problem and mine is a 2013 and it does it and I will let it warm up and then i found out the pot and all that stuff was broke, then fixed it and it still does it but try these things

    I've seen more regretful-purchase videos of Scag mowers than any other brand. This is why we buy ExMark (who is known for their dealer support and honest warranty) and Wright mowers for their dependability. If you're buying commercial mowers, protect yourself with research, research, and more research. Best of luck with your new mower, and thanks for sharing this!

    I noticed right off the bat your charging system isn’t working, it should show on your voltmeter a reading of 13.2 to 14.5 or so volts while running. With it not charging there’s not enough voltage to run your fuel pump, pro and other electrical components. This will make it stall when you engage the pto or even while Idling.

    If it's under warranty you should be able to take it back and tell them to switch it out. Any wiring problems goes on Scag. They should be able to wire around that PTO and if it stops. It's the PTO switch. It sounds like a short. Either the battery is dead or it's not grounding

    They had no choice but to use those switches. Their is only one switch manufacturer and all manufacturers are having issues. Not scags fault. Replace the switch and have a spare on hand. Problem solved until the manufacturer gets their tooling straightened out. Directly from scags engineer and my dealers mouth.

    Take it to a different/more knowledgeable dealership for service. Your dealer obviously doesn’t have a good mechanic!!! I’ve owned several scags and they are great machines... I’ve never heard of a pto switch causing a mower to stall out.

      @BepBepStev Před 5 lety

      Theres been a couple scags that ive seen have a PTO switch issue where it would prevent the mower from turning on unless you wiggled it, but those were all high hour machines and it would never cause a stall.

Personally, I would thank my lucky stars that the dealer offered my money back and RUN, not walk away. I do not support a company that will not support me after I spend my money with them. Not gonna happen.

    Just an fyi.. The uh check engine light on any EFI vehicle or machinery from pretty much 86 ++ (machinery little later on average) the S. E. S. light should ALWAYS be on in a "K. O. E. O. " (Key On Engine Off) then go out upon startup.

  • @mikecooley3361
    @mikecooley3361 Před 6 lety

    I'm guessing it's an EFI model by the check engine light and electric fuel pump priming the rail. I had a kohler efi on an exmark and the computer went bad and would only run one cylinder. I HATE EFI on a small engine. I'm betting that or the harness for the EFI was the issue. Glad you got your money back, sorry to hear you had issues. I'm narrowing my next choice down to either a 61" Cheetah or a Kubota Z726.
