Letztendlich brauchst du nur eine runde Scheibe mit Loch (alle Kanten abgerundet), die auf Beinen steht. Als Tama-Ersatz kannst du "Weideisolatoren", die wie tama aussehen und ca. 80-90 g wiegen, zum Aufwickeln der Stränge nehmen. Einfach anfangen! Und schau auch mal in meinem Shop vorbei, ich habe 2 Kumihimo-Bücher veröffentlicht ... ;)

Hallo Rike, es ist wirklich nicht einfach und auch nicht preiswert, an einen originalen Marudai zu gelangen. Manchmal kann ich vermitteln, wenn jemand einen verkaufen möchte. Dasselbe mit den Tama. Bei BrAidershand in den USA kannst du Marudai und Tama kaufen, allerdings apothekenmäßig teuer und eben nicht original japanisch. Aber du kannst auf Facebook in entsprechende Gruppen gehen (zum Beispiel "Kumihimo Braiders International". Da bin ich auch und poste, genauso andere, wenn es Angebote gibt. Jetzt aber mal Hand aufs Herz. Was brauchst du, um auf einer "Scheibe" zu flechten? Kumihimo auf dem Marudai bezeichnet man auch als "Tischflechten". Es ist ein "Aufwärtsgeflecht" (das also beim Flechten "nach oben wächst". Letztendlich brauch du nur eine Scheibe mit Loch, die Kanten sollten abgerundet sein. Stell dir einen Schemel mit Loch vor ;) Die Stränge müssen natürlich aufgewickelt und beschwert werden. Du brauchst also kleine schwere Gegenstände (am besten zylinderförmig). Dafür gibt es inzwischen hunderte Ideen. Ich benutze inzwischen am liebsten Spulen mit ca. 90 g Gewicht. Du könntest eine Scheibe evtl. auch bei einem Schreiner anfertigen lassen. Das ist kein Hexenwerk. Und als Tama habe ich auch schon so genannte "Weidezaun-Isolatoren" ausprobiert, die den Tama in Form und Größe verblüffend ähnlich sind. Du kannst also mit geringem Einsatz wunderbar flechten. Außerdem musst du ja nicht mit Seide anfangen zu flechten. Sehr gute und echt schöne Ergebnisse bekommst du mit ganz normaler Topflappen-Baumwolle. Ich nehme die auch, um alles mögliche auszuprobieren. Du kannst auch mit jeder anderen (unelastischen) Wolle flechten. Allerdings kommt es da auf die Verdrillung an. Manche Garne "entdrillen" sich beim Flechtvorgang. Die würde ich dann nicht nehmen. Ich hoffe, ich konnte dir helfen.

Hallo Andrea, das kann ich dir nicht sagen. Ich flechte weder mit Paracord, noch nutze ich die Scheibe ... Probier es einfach mal aus :) Da du bei diesem Muster so viele Stränge hast, die sich andauernd verschieben, wirst du mehr mit dem "Umstecken" beschäftigt sein als mit dem Muster selber. Ich befürchte, dass du den "Fluss" des Musters dann nicht so spüren kannst. Wenn du echtes Kumihimo machen möchtest, empfehle ich dir wirklich einen Marudai - was auch nichts anderes als eine Scheibe mit Loch ist (sowas kann man sich ganz einfach selber bauen. Das Flechten damit ist sehr viel angenehmer.

Vous pouvez commander un Marudai chez Braidershand aux États-Unis. Ou rendez-vous sur les groupes Kumihio sur Facebook. Vous pouvez demander là-bas. Parfois, Marudai et Tama sont proposés en seconde main. Malheureusement, je ne sais pas qui vend quoi que ce soit en ce moment. Mais vous pouvez aussi tresser avec un disque plat percé d’un trou. Camila, for this braid, I used Japanese pre-cut silk which is 270cm long. The length will reduce down to about 50%. The weft strands (which move horizontally) need to be double long. In my books, I have a detailed basic course with step-by-step photos. In principle, yea, but I do not recommend it. You will not get a result as good as with a marudai.

Hi Patricia, 1/2 (= half), 1/3 (= a third), triple (= 3-fold) refers to the thickness of the strands which are composed of many single threads. The green strands are half the thickness, the 4 weft strands each at the left and right side are a third the thickness and about half as long as the other. The 4 thick pink strands which form the blossom are 6-fold of the side strands. In my book "The Secrets of Kikko" (available at my webstore) there is also a detailed basic course. Hi Charlotte, mhmm, I don't understand why there is a problem. 2nd move: You move the strands toward your body, then you cross them and put them down. (This is a temporary position in this case.) 3rd move: You take the same strands and move them straight to the opposite side which is away from your body. Does this help?
