The shifter feel is what put me off of buying one recently. Its a great car and all but the shifter just wasn't fun in the 20 Minutes I test drove it. I also have a '19 Stang GT and if you have to say that the MT82 is way better, there is something off. Still an amazing car though in any other aspect.
I agree , the lack of aftermarket support and cost of parts to make this car feel the way other cars feel from the factory was what made me sell it , you only had 2 options get a $400 creative steel setup or do a t56 magnum trans swap that would set you back about $4,000-$5,000 same for the rear end , get a v2 cradle or a 8.8 in the end that car needed thousands of dollars in parts just to make it feel how it should’ve from GM

I would 100% regrate getting a c5. Not becauae i wouldn't love it, they are one of my dream cars. Rather id regret it because i would never be able to drive it because i have 4 kids. Ctsv is the perfect dad car. Once the kids are all older and drive themselves ill get a c5, or whatever dream car i have at that time since it seems to change rapidly with me being so indecisive.
Right , I have a video cooking of some things to consider when buying a c5 and daily driving it , I think if you want a corvette you MUST have a daily driver separately, shit even if you’re single because the car is a hassle to drive around town , CTSV was so comfy and smooth and easy to drive
So other than the motor mounts and all the shit with the rear differential, is this overall a pretty reliable car and something that you could daily with minimal problems and typical maintenance?
Yeah , I would say it’s a couple grand up front to make all the factory upgrades and after that you pretty much just do regular maintenance, you could easily daily drive one if the wallet allows

These are just stock v1 headlights that I wrapped with tint from Amazon
They have or had tinted one online too

A LS is one of the easiest motors to work on. It cant be that tough. Worth it i hope@@Danny_rods
With this car it’s not necessarily the motor that needs love but more the car itself , you’re right about the LS being easy and reliable to work on , but for example a tranny mount is $400 for this car when almost any other car would be under $100 and these are parts that will eventually wear and need replacing

Honestly it rode pretty well while I was on the springs , it depends on what you want out of the car but for daily driving it rode pretty good

Oh I read that incorrectly I thought you said bolt not belt haha but as far as the belt that was the hardest part , I ran a string through the pulleys as if it was a belt and cut it once it went all the way around , I measured it and got a few sizes over and under , I sold the car if I had it I could look at the part number but 71 sounds right
Your belt is routed incorrectly. Go straight from the alternator to the water pump non rib side on the water pump pulley then go around the crank pulley the the power steering pump and ac. Other wise the distance from the crank pulley to the alternator is to long and you will get noise. If you do this you will find the belt you need is a 715k6 duralast belt. It is shorter than the one you have. Try it the routing is key
I had this setup for about a year running fine man , no noise just had to make sure the belt was tight when adjusting
Suggest that You find another set of stock springs and cut them down , I would start with half a coil and try then checking until You get the stance that You like and want ! You just dont know how to drive it. My 92 LX 2.3 sounds the part and i do burnouts on the daily and lock both tires in. Do some upgrades like an 8.8 instead of the 7.5. Get you some chassis stiffners and get a mega squirt tuner. Its all plug n play and will give you a little more power to play with. Only thing i cant do is slide the car and thats fine

Almost Identical to my 1st. 88 GT, not sure the proper name of the color for that yr. I called it smoke with porno red interior. I have to admit, it looks better on a Notch.
i believe the color is called medium titanium or something along those lines, the all red interiors are hard to find but i think they look so good without the top half of the dash being black. the all blue is incredibly rare too but looks great on white cars, this grey with a blue interior would look pretty bad ass as well in my opinion

Hello Danny! Just found your channel. Cool videos of your foxbody man! I just subscribed. Car is looking good and great job doing all the upgrades yourself! How's the car coming along? Did you get new wheels? I also wanted to ask you about your engine and exhaust set-up. Does it pass smog? I'm down in southern Cali and have a 1991 LX 5.0 that I've been wanting to upgrade with heads, cam and intake or supercharger but also need to make sure I can pass smog. Do you have any input or advice to help me decide?
Hey man, huge thanks for the sub , my car does not pass smog , I’d say if your primary concern is to stay smog compliant I wouldn’t really modify the fox at all and just enjoy it as a stock car , focus mainly on suspension and drive ability upgrades, if you start to modify the engine you won’t really notice any big gains with any of the smog compliant stuff and it would be so damn expensive , making it not worth it in my opinion, if budget is not an issue I believe there are a few smog legal supercharger kits , or you could do a smog legal coyote swap
