Them doghole covers, what happens to them when you wack something that's on the table?

When I made the dog holes in my workbench, I used a 3/4" spiral auger bit and brace. Faster than you router, quiet, deep, smooth cutting solution. I am surprised that you didn't get any actual bench hold downs.

......... aaaaaaaaaaand 5 minutes into using this table, you drop a hammer on it, spill some epoxy, etc....

these youtube clowns with zero skill, zero expertise, zero common sense...but hey, i got $250,000 worth of fancy brand name toys...blows my mind. my dad was a commercial carpenter for nearly 50 years and could do all this stuff with a basic set of tools and a pencil.

Ive told a few of my woodworking buddies about you and your abilities, dilemma, etc. and they also follow you now. I think that's what it takes and im glad to hear you told those money hungry buttholes to take a hike. You do great work and i enjoy your videos which most inspire me to not give up. Why are you not masking for cuts and sanding?

does drilling that many holes in the surface weaken the surface? Its a workbench not just for cutting but has to handle pounding as well. I would be concerned a corner would break off.

Looked like it was going to be a great project but, too much dialogue for me.

If you expand the rails inserting the new wing panels, it will negatively impact the operation of your fence. So, don’t make the wing so tight that it expands the rails outward.

Thanks for the tips. I'm planning on a workbench build with dog holes. Got my eye on the parf system. I've learned something about top thickness. But curious what the max thickness might be without altering holes. (For that style of clamp)I have a supply of 1-1/4" ply..... And congrats on licking that down!

The frame to saw blade dimension limits the size of board you can work. I have some jigsaws mounted upside down on a piece of 3/4 in plywood that I use quite a bit.

Was the cost of making your own significantly cheaper than visiting a local countertop supplier?

Odd that I use the T-track I have in my bench, outfeed table, side feed table, CNC, radial arm saw, miter sleds, and custom jigs quite frequently. Only a fool would think that purchasing Kreg branded T-track is financially wise. Plus, if something ever happens to them, only a fool would think that's "game over" and not realize it's real easy to replace.

Isn't MDF the wooden version of asbestos? Understand at the min you think it doesn't matter. But when you're in your 50's and wondering why you're so short of breath it might.

An expensive plane thats difficult to set up is just a bad plane (unless were talking about traditional planes but youre using a modern Bridge City plane). WIth diamond stones and a guide its also not difficult to sharpen.

Can recommend the ukj parf guide from Axminster in the UK. Similar unpleasant cost to it. But I wasn't disappointed with it's accuracy. Edit, lol then 2 mins later got recommend exactly that lol😅
