Tribute trip to Reno/Stead to see the famous Reno Air Race track and see if I can fly a lap myself!!

Today's trip was more special than most. I flew north to Reno to visit the Reno/stead airport. Home of the National Air race Championship. This year, 2023, will be the final year the races are held in Reno. I thought it would be fitting to give a Salute to the racers by flying a Lap of the famous raceway. Then landing to check out the sights and racers that were there at the field
My route of flight took me from Nut tree through Sacramento, then across Blue Canyon to Truckee and finally to Reno

I tried to go for a flight the other day and ended up scrubbing it because of an electrical issue. After so research and some tinkering, it was resolved. I departed for my flight once again only to have it fail shortly after departure and I had to return to the airport. Still Grounded ~90 Days to go

I'm still grounded by the FAA due to a paperwork issue from the previous owner that was never resolved. I've been taking advantage of the down time and spending would have been fuel money on some needed and wanted upgrades to 49Y. Today includes some engine work to clear a misfiring cylinder and some investigating in the tail to Identify work to be done to upgrade the lighting.
