This channel to chronicle my journey in setting up a small pigeon loft in Middle Tennessee. I will be flying White Homers.
I raised pigeons while growing up, but took a 30 year break. I always new I would come back.
I also want to learn to film and edit videos and this is a great place to get started and learn.

Inexpensive Effective Treatment for Splay leg
Spraddle leg of commonly known as Splay Leg Normally happens to pigeons when the nest bottom is to slick or when there is only one chick.
I have seen others and I have successfully used a short piece of Paracord used to hitch the legs together.
Last breeding season I used a rubber band and 2 snap rings with great results.

Inexpensive Heater for Waterer

Not a lot happening around here this week, temps in the 20s and heading for 0! We are not built for that around here! Nashville Racing Pigeon Club had our Winter Meeting and the Club is growing! I’ve done something similar for quail, chickens and emu chicks with splayed legs. They tend to heal up nicely.
Babies are looking great!
The heaters safe you a lot of trouble with water changes. Great idea!

My White birds use them very well. I still use my bob trap on my race loft.

Yup, the pairs should have been on lights for 18 hrs a day, from about 2 - 3 weeks prior to pairing up. That makes a big difference.

I just bought these same perches for my birds, they haven't even attempted to used them. Few of the birds slept on the ground last night
My birds seem to use all different types of perches. The blue plastic or regular wooden ones. I’m sure yours will use them.

Thanks . We had a few days in a row of negative temperatures water never froze. By next year im gonna have 40 of them lol. Im gonna put them under waters,nest bowls,me etc etc.

Why i love colorado other than the marxist socialist democrat California 2.0 politics that have taken over the state. Colorado never is in a Deep prolonged winter and cold. Often temps bounce back in hours or days later, snow melts. But it can snow any day of the year including summer.
Snow here is sparse, flurries once twice a year, seldom accumulating. 8” is a 100 year event!
Can you help me with this problem? I added the new bird to the data. The bird name and band # did not show up the name when I went to select the pedigree option.
This program is great for tracking a pedigree, but not great for displaying one. I believe the information that shows up on the pedigree, besides the number, has to be added to the “extra” section. Good luck and thanx for watching
