Installation of Fiat Ducato Front Mud Flaps

After having trouble with mud splashing up around the wheel arches, I decided to fit front mudflaps to our Mobilvetta motorhome. It was a quick and easy installation of the genuine Fiat Ducato mudflaps. We can now travel freely with less dirt on our vehicle.

Hello and welcome to our channel. After purchasing our new Mobilvetta Kea P90 motorhome recently, we have decided to show our very first vlog of our trip to Devon and Cornwall, which was just amazing as we hit on fantastic weather and had some wonderful sunsets.
Hi, thanks for the video, but I’m having problems with mine sitting level to the ground, and a gap on the outside at the top of the flaps, which could collect debris. Wonder if you have the same issue, as cannot tell from the video. thanks.
I’m glad someone did make this video. I had the apparatus already fitted to my van but found it fiddly to attach the wheel. I wanted to confirm I was doing it right. I found it difficult to get the carrier through the centre hole. I think it helps to first tilt the wheel so it’s sort of 45° supporting it on a bit of wood or similar to undo the little securing bolt then remove the carrier through the hole. The air was blue before I worked it out. The video helped a lot. Thanks for sharing!
We had no issues at all and was pleased we didn't have to jack the van up as plenty of room underneath. Glad you got there in the end and our video helped. Happy travels and at least you have a spare if you get a puncture or blow out now.
Should the bolt's that attach to the inner wing be secured from inside the wing arch lip? The way you've secured them might damage the painwork.
If they were, it would be more difficult to fit. The actual bolt does not touch the paintwork, it presses against the mud flap.
We have a Kea 90/2 would like this on ours thanks for posting and showing us how its done.

@@Miles_and_miles2023 Love our 90 getting a tow bar fitted next costing twice what our other t bars have cost due to the chassis extentions needed.

@@mikekarpaty3871 We went to Europe over Christmas which is the main reason we put one on our vehicle. We also want to do the NC500 but might not get round to it this year but it looks amazing!

Good luck and hope you find it easy enough. When ordering the carrier from Halmerend, they supplied the bolts for mounting the wheel carrier but they didn't supply the bolts for the bit you would attach your spanner to when winding down the wheel, although it was all pre-drilled. We, therefore, purchased 3 x 100mm M8 nut bolts. Hope this makes sense?
@@Miles_and_miles2023 Thank you for coming back to me, I ordered the carrier from eBay. Haven’t received it yet, it’s a new one but it doesn’t show any bolts so I thought I’d get some so I’m ready. So far I’ve got 10 M8 x 20mm and will now get 3 M8 x 100mm. Thank you 🙏

So job done and for the benefit of others, I'd already had a tow bar fitted and encountered a couple of issues. The 1st one was that one of the brackets holding the winding mechanism to the chassis was fouling one of the strengthening plates added to the chassis for the tow bar. This was easily rectified by taking a small notch out. The other problem was that the plate also prevented me from inserting the wind down tool into the housing. The only way around this was to fix the bracket holding the winding mechanism with a single rather than 2 bolts which allowed it to pivot down just enough to insert the bar. While not ideal, the bracket is taking only the weight of the mechanism so very little in reality. It doesn't move when operating the winder so I'm comfortable it's secure enough.Hope this helps others. Got to get a wheel cover now. Can also recommend Halmerend

We love Cornwall and this trip was our first in the motorhome. We have been lots of times previously but when we were caravaners. It is definitely easier in a MH! Hope to see you on the road soon😊

I’ve just bought these for my Ducato. Did the thin grub screws on the clamps go through the rubber into the metal part of the arch or was the mud flap tough enough that the grub screw won’t go through it when tightened.
@@davemorris6747 The grub screws does not go through the rubber mud flap, they just tighten on to it. Hope this helps? We have had no issues with ours and we've been lots of places since putting them on.

It was really beautiful! You need to visit Cornwall as I think it it one of the most beautiful places in the UK. Fortunately, we hit on good weather so was lucky but when it’s sunny, it really feels like you are in the Mediterranean. We can’t wait to go back ❤️

Thank you! It is the same for us watching you guys. You would laugh at the size of ours as so small in comparison to yours but we have tiny roads here and only wide enough for one vehicle to get through, and we live on one of these roads. 😂
